EFFICIENT ESTIMATION OF POPULATION MEAN IN STRATIFIED SAMPLING USING REGRESSION TYPE ESTIMATOR

  • Here an efficient regression type estimator for a stratified population mean is proposed under the two-phase sampling scheme. While constructing the proposed estimator, it is assumed that the first auxiliary variable x is directly and highly correlated with the study variable y, and the second auxiliary variable z is directly and highly correlated with the first auxiliary variable x. However the variable z is not directly correlated with the variable y, but they are just correlated with each other only due to their direct and high correlation with the variable x. The proposed regression type estimator is found to be always more efficient than the existing estimators defined under the same situation.

  • In this study, a liquid sheet type co-axial nozzle has been used to investigate the turbulent atomization characteristics which could result in the experimental data to be used in designing a jet nozzle with high performance. Image processing technique and immersion sampling method were employed to measure droplet size. In atomizing characteristics, droplet size distributions and absolute droplet sizes, SMD(Sauter Mean Diameter) have been investigated in the wide ranges of flow field depending upon the air-water mass ratios. And the comparisons between the present data and the semi-empirical curves have been conducted semi-empirical correlation for SMD has been derived in the present analysis.

  • 본 연구에서는 민감한 모집단에 대한 자료수집 방법으로 직접 질문 방법 인 Black-Box 방법과 간접 질문 방법인 확률화응답기법(RRT)의 결합적 방법을 제시하였고, 층화이중추출방법을 이용하여 모수를 추정하였다. 또한, 주어진 추정량의 효율성을 Mangat과 Singh 추정량과 비교 분석하였다.

  • RF(radio frequency) 신호보다 낮은 주파수로 표본화하는 BPS(bandpass sampling) 기술은 별도의 하향변환기를 사용하지 않고 표본화 처리만으로 기저대역 신호를 얻을 수 있으므로 수신기 회로를 간소화할 수 있어 유리하다. 표본화 장치를 2개 사용하는 2차 BPS 방식은 aliasing 현상에 의하여 기저대역에서 간섭이 발생하더라도 두 가지 표본화 신호의 관계를 이용하여 간섭 성분을 제거할 수 있다. 이 때 사용되는 interpolant 필터는 표본화된 두 신호 사이의 위상을 조절하는 것으로서, 간섭 제거 성능을 결정하는 중요한 요소이다. 본 논문에서는 하나의 interpolant 필터를 사용하면서 다중 대역으로부터의 간섭 신호들을 제거할 수 있는 다중 대역 interpolant 필터를 제안하였다. Interpolant 필터 설계를 위한 여러 가지의 위상 특성을 제안하고, 각각에 대하여 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 연속적으로 변화하는 위상 특성을 가진 필터가 간섭 신호 제거 성능이 가장 우수한 것을 확인하였다.

  • In phase controlled rectifier, it's been known that a fast response is achieved by predictive current control without any overshoot. The frequent sampling period is essential to improve the firing accuracy in conventional predict current control. However, improving the firing accuracy if difficult to reduce the period of sampling efficiently because current sampling and predictive current control is carried out in every period and the ON-OFF current control is performed by comparing two different one. To improve the firing accuracy at the predictive current control, the calculated firing angle is loaded into the high-accuracy hardware timer. So the calculation of exact crossing point between the predictive and actual current is the most important. In this paper, the flow chart for proposed firing angle calculation algorithm is obtained for the fastest current control performance in transient state. The performance of proposed algorithm is verified through simulations and experiments.

  • An interferometric microscope with an improved lateral resolution is presented. The nanometer resolution XY stage is integrated into standard temporal phase shifting interferometer. The nanometer resolution XY stage is used to position specimen in subpixel of CCD detector, therefore CCD detector's sampling is improved. Two scanning algorithms and those simulation results are also presented. The simulation results show that scanning algorithms improve CCD detector's sampling significantly, and interferometeric microscope's lateral resolution is improved also.

  • 이중추출법은 모집단 정보가 충분하지 않아 층화 추출법을 사용할 때 정확한 층화 정보가 없는 경우에 흔히 사용하는 표본추출법이다. 특히 최근에는 이중추출법을 위해 1차 조사에서 얻어진 보조 정보를 이용하여 추정의 정확성을 향상시키는 방법들이 제안되었다. 본 연구에서는 최근 제안된 일반화 ratio-cum-product 추정량에서 사용하는 가중치를 이상점 처리를 위한 가중치 보정에 맞도록 보정하여 추정의 정밀성을 향상시키는 방법을 제안하였다. 모의실험을 통하여 본 연구에서 제안한 방법과 기존의 이상점 가중치 보정법의 성능을 비교하였으며 사례 분석을 통하여 제안된 방법의 우수성을 확인하였다.

0.11-2.5 GHz All-digital DLL for Mobile Memory Interface with Phase Sampling Window Adaptation to Reduce Jitter Accumulation

  • An all-digital delay-locked loop (DLL) for a mobile memory interface, which runs at 0.11-2.5 GHz with a phase-shift capability of $180^{\circ}$, has two internal DLLs: a global DLL which uses a time-to-digital converter to assist fast locking, and shuts down after locking to save power; and a local DLL which uses a phase detector with an adaptive phase sampling window (WPD) to reduce jitter accumulation. The WPD in the local DLL adjusts the width of its sampling window adaptively to control the loop bandwidth, thus reducing jitter induced by UP/DN dithering, input clock jitter, and supply/ground noise. Implemented in a 65 nm CMOS process, the DLL operates over 0.11-2.5 GHz. It locks within 6 clock cycles at 0.11 GHz, and within 17 clock cycles at 2.5 GHz. At 2.5 GHz, the integrated jitter is $954fs_{rms}$, and the long-term jitter is $2.33ps_{rms}/23.10ps_{pp}$. The ratio of the RMS jitter at the output to that at the input is about 1.17 at 2.5 GHz, when the sampling window of the WPD is being adjusted adaptively. The DLL consumes 1.77 mW/GHz and occupies $0.075mm^2$.

  • This paper proposed a novel current measurement method for two-phase half-bridge inverter using single current sensor. The proposed method measures DC link input current and a phase current simultaneously and reconstructs each phase currents by simple calculation according to voltage vector. The commutation modes of two-phase half-bridge inverter is analized. The current sampling and reconstructing method is also presented. The proposed method is verified through simulation and experimental results on two-phase induction motor drive system.

Optimization of Headspace Sampling Using Solid Phase Microextraction For Volatile Organic Acids in Different Tobacco Types

  • A Solid-phase micro extraction(SPME) was evaluated as a tool for headspace sampling of tobacco samples. Several experimental parameters (sampling temperature, pH, and type of SPME fibers) were optimized to improve sampling efficiency in two aspects ; maximum adsorption and selective adsorption of volatile organic acids onto SPME fibers. Among four types of SPME fibers such as PDMS(Polydimethylsiloxane), PA(Polyacrylate), Car/PDMS (Carboxen/Polydimethylsiioxane) and PDMS/DVB(Polydimethylsiioxane/Divinylbenzene) which were investigated to determine the selectivity and adsorption efficiency. A variety of tobacco samples such as flue cured, burley and oriental were used in this study. The effect of these parameters was often dominated by the physical and chemical nature (volatility, polarity) of target compounds. This method allowed us to make important improvements in selectivity and sensitivity. The Car/PDMS fiber was shown to be the most efficient at extracting the 10 selected volatile organic acids. The parameters were optimized: $80^{\circ}C$ adsorption temperature, 30 min of adsorption time, $240^{\circ}C$ desorption temperature, 1 min of adsorption time.
