Multiscale multiphysics in structural batteries make mechanical property testing difficult. In this research, the effect of electrolyte-coating on the mechanical performance of carbon fabric was studied using a suitable mechanical test method for structural batteries. For this experiment, two types of specimens were determined their dimension according to ASTM. One type of specimen was smaller than the standard dimension. The specimens were coated by spreading the electrolyte material on carbon fabric, hardened using epoxy, and tested for tensile properties using universal testing machine. As a result, it was found that the mechanical properties of carbon fabric were not influenced by electrolyte coating. In addition, the small-scale specimen used in this experiment was determined to be sufficiently reliable.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of shirt color, tie color, tone, perceiver' gender on impression formation by applying tone-in-tone coloration of shirt and necktie: coloration of two colors. This experiment was designed to utilize the $2{\times}6{\times}4{\times}2$ factorial designs. and they are shirt color(red, blue), tie color(red, yellow red, yellow, green, blue, purple), tone(vivid, light, dull, dark), and perceiver' gender(a male, a female). The experimental materials developed for this study were a set of stimulus and response scales. The stimuli were 48 upper body photographs which were color outputs by CAD system(4D-box program). The subjects of this research were 288 male and 288 female college students. There were established impression dimension from factor analysis 27 bi-polar adjectives and investigated the effect of interaction between each variable affected impression formations. The items of the adjectives are classified into 4 Impression dimensions: activity, potency, attractiveness, and tenderness. Shirt color, tie color, tone, and perceiver' gender influenced on impression formation. Specially, tie color and tone influenced on the 4 impression dimension greatly by interaction as well as independently. As a result tie is very important clue of impression formation in tone-in-tone coloration of shirt and necktie. Even though tie occupies only a small area in men's clothes it has great effect since it is close to the face.
Purpose: To evaluate whether cone beam computed tomography can depict the distribution, position, frequency, relative vertical dimension, and the diameter of the lingual foramen and direction of lingual bone canal. Materials and Methods : Cone beam computed tomography of mandible was performed on 25 males and 25 females with no history of any orthodontic treatments or any other dental surgeries. A statistical comparison was done on the mean values of males and females. Results: In the location and distribution of lingual foramina, median lingual foramen was found in all subjects and lateral lingual foramen in 58%. In the lateral lingual foramen, bilateral type was found in 28% and unilateral type in 30%. In the number of lingual foramina, median lingual foramen had two foramina and lateral lingual foramen had one foramen, mostly. In the relative mean vertical dimension of lingual foramina, median lingual foramen was 0.03±0.08, and both lateral lingual foramina was 0.20±0.04. The mean diameter of lingual foramina, median lingual foramen was 0.9mm±0.28, right lateral lingual foramen was 0.92mm±0.23, and left lateral lingual foramen was 0.88mm±0.27. The most frequent direction of the lingual bone canals, median lingual bone canal proceeded in anteroinferior direction and lateral lingual bone canal in anterosuperolateral direction. Conclusion : Cone beam computed tomography can be helpful for surgery and implantation on the mandibular area. Radiologist should be aware of this anatomical feature and its possible implications.

Recently, advanced transit systems are being constructed to reduce traffic congestions in metropolitan areas. For these projects, curved bridges with various curvatures are required. Many curved bridges in the past were constructed using aesthetically unpleasant straight beams with curved slabs or expensive curved steel box girders with curved slabs. Therefore, many recent studies have been performed to develop less expensive and very safe precast prestressed concrete (PSC) curved girder. One method of reducing the construction cost of a PSC curved girder is to use a reusable formwork that can easily be adjusted to change the curvature and length of a girder. A reusable and curvature/dimension adjustable formwork called Multi-tasking formwork is developed for constructing efficient precast PSC curved girders. With the Multi-tasking formwork, two 40 m precast PSC box girders with different curvatures were constructed to build a two-girder curved bridge for a static flexural test to evaluate its safety and serviceability performance. The static flexural test results showed that the initial cracking load was 1400 kN, exceeding the design cracking load of 450 kN. Also, the code allowed deflection of 50 mm occurred at a load of 1800 kN, verifying the safety and serviceability of the precast PSC curved bridge constructed using the multi-tasking formwork.
Three heat-treatment schedules were applied to $90{\times}90mm$ dimension square lumber of Pinus koraiensis, one of major domestic species, and their colors and physical properties were investigated for obtaining an optimum schedule. Each square lumber was heat-treated three times. The temperatures of $170^{\circ}C$ and $190^{\circ}C$, and the time of 9 hours and 13 hours were used for the first heat-treatment. The schedule of $190^{\circ}C$ and 7 hours were used for the next two heat-treatments. The averages of brightness $L^*$ decreased linearly as the heat-treatment repeated and its standard deviations also decreased slightly. While the averages of color difference ${\Delta}E^*$ increased linearly as the heat-treatment repeated and its standard deviations also increased slightly. The average compressive strength of the heat-treated specimen was higher than that of the control by 9%, which deviates from previous reports. ASE and WPG of the heat-treated specimens were measured to confirm that heat-treatment improved dimensional stability significantly.

Application of nanotechnology can be used to tailor made cementitious composites owing to small dimension and physical behaviour of resulting hydration products. Because of high aspect ratio and extremely high strength, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are perfect reinforcing materials. Hence, there is a great prospect to use CNTs in developing new generation cementitious materials. In the present paper, a parametric study has been conducted on cementitious composites reinforced by two types of multi walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) designated as Type I CNT (10-20 nm outer dia.) and Type II CNT (30-50 nm outer dia.) with various concentrations ranging from 0.1% to 0.5% by weight of cement. To evaluate important properties such as flexural strength, strain to failure, elastic modulus and modulus of toughness of the CNT admixed specimens at different curing periods, flexural bending tests were performed. Results show that composites with Type II CNTs gave more strength as compared to Type I CNTs. The highest increase in strength (flexural and compressive) is of the order of 22% and 33%, respectively, compared to control samples. Modulus of toughness at 28 days showed highest improvement of 265% for Type II 0.3% CNT composites. It is obvious that an optimum percentage of CNT could exists for composites to achieve suitable reinforcement behaviour and desired strength properties. Based on the parametric study, a tentative optimum CNT concentration (0.3% by weight of cement) has been proposed. Scanning electron microscope image shows perfect crack bridging mechanism; several of the CNTs were shown to act as crack arrestors across fine cracks along with some CNTs breakage.

A sunday system with a horizontal bin-type composter was constructed and operated to evaluate its composting performance for four days for each test in October, 1992. A sundry system is one of popular systems for composting livestock manure, of which main benefit is to utilize unlimited, clean, and free solar radiation. A rectangular concrete bin(composter) with dimension of 300cm(length) X90cm(width) X60cm(height) was bedded alternatively with four lanes of aeration pipes and heating pipes, and was insulated at three walls with 50mm styrofoam. Each aeration pipe of a diameter of 25mm had 4mm perforated holes at every 15cm longitudinally, and supplied air of about 2m$^3$/min to the composter to maintain aerobic condition . A stirrer rotating at 1 rpm made one round trip every 20 minutes on the conveying chain along the the length of the composter. Five tests (Test 1~Test 5) were implemented to evaluate the composting effectiveness of a sundry system with a horizontal bin-type composter. Treatments of two levels of the mixture ratio of swine manure and paper sludge cakes(manure : paper sludge cakes= 1 : 4 and 1 : 2) and two levels of the water content(W/C ; 70% and 50%) were made to test the significance of the physicochemical properties for decomposition of the mixture materials. Temperature, C/N ratio, water content, microbial activity of the composting materials were taken measurements to evaluate its performance with the lapse of composting time for tests. A small-scale sundry system with a bin-type composter did not appear to be an appropriate system for composting livestock manure. Since heat generation by the composting materials could not overcome heat loss due to areation in a small-scale composter, a proper thermal enviroment could not be maintained to propagate massively thermopilic microorganism relatively in a short period of time. Different from the result of Chol et al.(1992) 6), a temperature variation of the composting materials did not show the peak clearly and C/N ratio didn't lower with time as expected. Mesophilic microoragnism seemed to play an important role for decomposition of the mixture materials. A sundry system with a bin-type composter may be good for a large-scale livestock farm household which may produce enough animal manure. Therefore a decision should be made very carefully to choose a system for composting livestock waste.

This paper presents the results of the structural analysis and optimal design of frames of the UUV(Unmanned Underwater vehicle) to be operated at 6000m depth in the ocean. The structure of the UUV system can be classified into two structure, Launcher ana ROV. Frame of the launcher will be made by Galvanized Steel which has high strength and corrosion-resistant but this material has high specific gravity for tile object to be weight in the water Similarly, ROV will be made by AI6061-T6, and frame of the ROV will be fix many instruments and syntactic buoyancy materials. Before fabrication of tile frame, we performed sensitivity analysis - change in weight due to $\pm1\%$ change in design variables, for easy choice by change of dimension of the frame.
In injection molding, the quality of an injection molded product varies greatly depending on the molding conditions. Many researche studies have been conducted on the quality analysis of molded parts according to the molding conditions such as injection pressure, injection temperature, and packing pressure. However, there have not been many studies on the V/P switchover timing. It is known that when a large pressure is applied to a cavity in the packing phase, the cavity pressure is most affected by the packing pressure. In addition, depending on the position (timing) of the packing pressure, it can have a direct influence on quality based on the shrinkage and dimensions of the molded parts. In this study, the change in pressure profile in the cavity according to the V/P switchover position is confirmed. A CAE analysis program (Moldflow) was used to simulate and analyze two models using the PC and PBT materials. In order to compare these results with the actual injection molding results, injection molding was performed for each V/P switchover position, and the correlation between simulation and experiment, especially for the shrinkage of molded parts, was evaluated.

The purpose of this study is to provide basic data of dress design by researching three-dimensional decorative techniques representing flowers, a popular motif in dress design. This study analyzed 44 dresses that were presented in Valentino collection. The result of this study is as follows: First, the detailing expression method can show various patterns and colors through embroidery technique, sub-materials, and bonding techniques in embroidery, beads flower, and ribbon flowers. Second, the fabric flower technique expressed flower image in three-dimension in more various images than do either the ribbon or beads flower technique. Fabric flowers are mostly made from the same material as dresses. The expression technique of fabric flower is classified into the following three classifications: 1) A technique underlying a flower image with one, two and three large flowers, 2) a technique decorating a large area with a number of an identical motif, and 3) a technique highlighting a part of the body or design line by attracting eyes to one point, creating a corsage decorated where a designer wants to emphasize. Third, a silhouette technique realizes a flower image with a silhouette of a dress like sculpted structure and it is thus used less than a detailing expression technique. A flower image is expressed by making use of body lines or emphasizing the face. Finally, flower images on a dress were realized as a full blossomed flower, through visually streamlined shapes and curved lines.
