The purpose of this study was to investigate the cognitive mechanism of e-Learning contents development projects on the basis of the Shared Mental Model theory perspective. To pursue the purpose, a theoretical model and several hypotheses were developed based on relevant literature. Thirty five (35) e-Learning contents development teams composed of 202 instructional designers from for-profit professional e-Learning companies in Korea were participated in this study. For the analyses of the fit of the Model and parameter estimations, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method was employed. As hypothesized, e-Learning contents development team members' interaction leads to higher SMMs which in turn facilitate member satisfaction within the team. Meanwhile, the frequency of interaction among team members decreases as projects progress.
Fashion industry has tried to adopt the virtual garment technology to reduce the time and effort spent on sample creation. For garment manufacturers to adopt the virtual garment technology as an alternative to sample creation, 3D avatars that meet the needs of each brand should be developed. Virtual garment softwares that are available in the market provide avatars with standardized body models and allow to modify the size by manually entering size specifications. This study proposed a methodology to develop size specifications for 3D avatars as well as brand-customized production sizes. For this, a man's fashion brand which is using virtual garment technology is selected. And the Size Korea database is used to develop size specification based on the customers' body shape. This study developed regression equations on body size specifications, which in turn proposed a regression model to proportionately change size specifications of 3D fitting-models. Based on the each body size calculated by the regression model, a standard model is created, and the skeleton-skin algorithm is applied to the regression model to obtain the results of size changes. Then, the 3D model sizes are tested for size changes as well as measured, which verifies that the regression model reflects body size changes.
Adaptive has gained significant attention in Education Technology (EdTech), with personalized learning experiences becoming increasingly important. Next-generation chatbots, including models like ChatGPT, are emerging in the field of education. These advanced tools show great potential for delivering personalized and adaptive learning experiences. This paper reviews previous research on adaptive learning and the role of chatbots in education. Based on this, the paper explores current and future chatbot technologies to propose a framework for using ChatGPT or similar chatbots in adaptive learning. The framework includes personalized design, targeted resources and feedback, multi-turn dialogue models, reinforcement learning, and fine-tuning. The proposed framework also considers learning attributes such as age, gender, cognitive ability, prior knowledge, pacing, level of questions, interaction strategies, and learner control. However, the proposed framework has yet to be evaluated for its usability or effectiveness in practice, and the applicability of the framework may vary depending on the specific field of study. Through proposing this framework, we hope to encourage learners to more actively leverage current technologies, and likewise, inspire educators to integrate these technologies more proactively into their curricula. Future research should evaluate the proposed framework through actual implementation and explore how it can be adapted to different domains of study to provide a more comprehensive understanding of its potential applications in adaptive learning.

In this study, self-tuning adaptive control using state observer is developed. Self-tuning adaptive controller that estimates the parameters of the system in real time and generates the optimal control signals has robust characteristic about varying load and external disturbances. In addition, state observer without sensors is applied, thus the control can be performed more quickly and exactly. Since chopper is used commonly in practical drives, the characteristics of the chopper are included in state observer algorithm, which, in turn, makes the system exact estimation. Since series type DC motor has nonlinear models, linearizing approach are investigated. to realize the proposed algorithm it requires fast calculation in real time. TMS320C31, digital signal processor, is applied to realized the adaptive control algorithms.
PURPOSES: This study proposes a novel method based on microscopic simulation models to evaluate bicycle passing ways in mixed traffic flow conditions at signalized intersections. METHODS: Both operational efficiency and safety are taken into consideration in the evaluation. A widely used performance measure, delay, is used for evaluating the operational efficiency. Regarding the safety evaluation, surrogate safety measures (SSM) to represent traffic conflicts and the level of crash severity, DeltaS and Max.DeltaV, are applied in the proposed method. RESULTS: Extensive simulations and statistical tests show that an integrated bike-box way is identified as the best in terms of operational efficiency and safety. CONCLUSIONS: The proposed method and outcomes of this study will be valuable for bicycle traffic operations and facility design.

In recent years, nonlinear dynamic models have been developed for flapping-type energy harvesting systems with a rigid wing, but not for those with a flexible wing. Thus, in this study, flexible wing designs of NACA0012 section are proposed and measurements of the forces of rigid cambered wings, which are used to estimate the performance of the designed wings, are conducted. Polar curves from the measured lift and drag coefficients show that JavaFoil estimation is much closer to the measured values than Eppler over the entire given range of angles of attack. As the camber of the rigid cambered wings is increased, both the lift and drag coefficients increase, in turn increasing the resultant forces. Moreover, the maximum resultant forces for all rigid cambered wings are achieved at the same angle of attack as the maximum lift coefficient, meaning that the lift coefficient is dominant in representations of the wing characteristics.
Water consumption is strongly affected by numerous factors, such as population, climatic, geographic, and socio-economic factors. Therefore, the implementation of a reliable predictive model of water consumption pattern is challenging task. This study investigates the performance of predictive models based on multi-layer perceptron (MLP), multiple linear regression (MLR), and support vector regression (SVR). To understand the significant factors affecting water consumption, the stepwise regression (SW) procedure is used in MLR to obtain suitable variables. Then, this study also implements three predictive models based on these significant variables (e.g., SWMLR, SWMLP, and SWSVR). Annual data of water consumption in Thailand during 2006 - 2015 were compiled and categorized by provinces and distributors. By comparing the predictive performance of models with all variables, the results demonstrate that the MLP models outperformed the MLR and SVR models. As compared to the models with selected variables, the predictive capability of SWMLP was superior to SWMLR and SWSVR. Therefore, the SWMLP still provided satisfactory results with the minimum number of explanatory variables which in turn reduced the computation time and other resources required while performing the predictive task. It can be concluded that the MLP exhibited the best result and can be utilized as a reliable water demand predictive model for both of all variables and selected variables cases. These findings support important implications and serve as a feasible water consumption predictive model and can be used for water resources management to produce sufficient tap water to meet the demand in each province of Thailand.
The influence of magnetic fields on chemical processes has long been the subject of interest to researchers. For this time numerous investigations show that commonly the effect of a magnetic field on chemical reactions is insignificant with impact less than 10 percent. However, there are some papers that point to the observation of external magnetic field effect on chemical and biochemical systems actually having a significant impact on the reactions. Thus, of great interest is an active search for rather simple but realistic models, that are based on physically explicit assumptions and able to account for a strong effect of low magnetic fields. The present work theoretically deals with two models explaining how an applied weak magnetic field might influence the steady state of a non-equilibrium chemical system. It is assumed that external magnetic field can have effect on the rates of radical reactions occurring in a system. This, in turn, leads to bifurcation of the nonequilibrium stationary state and, thus, to a drastic change in the properties of chemical systems (temperature and reagent concentration).

This study investigates the dynamic analysis of a transversely isotropic thin plate. The plate is made of hyperelastic John's material and its constitutive law is obtained by taken the Frechect derivative of the highlighted energy function with respect to the geometry of deformation. The three-dimensional equation governing the motion of the plate is expressed in terms of first Piola-Kirchhoff's stress tensor. In the reduction to an equivalent two-dimensional plate equation, the obtained model generalizes the classical plate equation of motion. It is obtained that the plate under consideration exhibits harmonic force within its planes whereas this force varnishes in the classical plate model. The presence of harmonic forces within the planes of the considered plate increases the natural and resonance frequencies of the plate in free and forced vibrations respectively. Further, the parameter characterizing the transversely isotropic structure of the plate is observed to increase the plate flexural rigidity which in turn increases both the natural and resonance frequencies. Finally, this study reinforces the view that non-classical models of problems in elasticity provide ample opportunity to reveal important phenomena which classical models often fail to apprehend.
