Acoustic Noise Reduction of Three-Phase SRM with Random Pulse Position PWM and Random Turn-on/off Angle Control

  • This paper describes a new method using random modulated strategies for switched reluctance machines. The proposed method is combined random turn-on, turn-off angle technique and random pulse width modulation technique. The purpose of this proposed method is to decrease harmonic spectrum, and thus reduce the emitted acoustical noise. A random generator is generated by linear congruential generator (LCG) using random pulse position (RPP) scheme. Simulation results show that the harmonic intensity of proposed method is better than that of conventional method.

고효율 순산소 버너의 연소 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental study on combustion characteristics of high efficiency oxy-fuel burner)

  • This paper describes the results of a series of experiments executed by using two pilot-scale oxv-fuel burners are designed for maximum capacity of 50,000 kacl/hr, 300,000 kcal/hr and installed in the test furnace. The effects of turn-down ratio, excess oxygen ratio, nozzle exit velocity, injection angle, swirl vane angle and inlet oxygen temperature on the combustion characteristic are investigated. Temperature distributions are measured using R-type and Molybdenum sheathed C-type thermocouple. The results showed that maximum temperature and mean temperature increase with the increase of turn-down ratio and inlet oxygen temperature. The maximum flame temperature was increased about 35% compared to the case of equivalent air operated condition. In addition, Optimum excess oxygen ratio and nozzle characteristics are obtained for this oxy-fuel glass melting furnace.

  • This paper presents a proper switching angle calculation method of Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) for drill. The characteristic of SRM drive is very related to the scheduling of commutation angle and current waveforms. Therefore, a selection method of switching turn-on and turn-off angle is suggested for adaptational operation of SRM with varied rotor speed and load. Simulation and experimental results are presented for the validation of proposed method.

인터스키 부정지 숏턴 동작의 운동학적 분석 (Kinematic Analysis on the Mogul Short Turn Motion in Interski)

  • 본 연구는 인터스키 부정지 숏턴 동작에서 우수 집단과 비우수 집단 간 운동학적 변인의 차이를 3차원 영상 분석을 통해 보다 효과적인 부정지 숏턴 동작을 모색하고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 2007년 전국스키기술선수권대회 부정지 숏턴 경기에 참가한 선수 10명을 대상으로 DLT 방법을 이용한 3차원 영상분석을 통해 운동학적 변인을 분석하였으며, 그 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 총 소요시간 및 국면별 소요시간은 우수 집단이 비우수 집단보다 짧게 나타났다. 신체중심은 우수 집단이 비우수 집단보다 작은 좌우이동 폭과 큰 상하이동 폭을 나타내며, 직진성을 강화하는 활주를 하였으며, 그로 인하여 좌우속도를 제어하면서 빠른 전후속도를 나타냈다. 상하속도는 드롭 인 구간에서는 느리게 하면서 범프 업 구간에서 속도를 증가시킨 것으로 나타났다. 고관절각과 슬관절각은 우수 집단이 비우수집단보다 전체 이벤트에서 모두 작게 나타났으며, 동체 전경갈 신체 기울기각은 우수 집단이 비우수 집단보다 모두 크게 나타났다. 하퇴 전경각은 우수 집단이 비우수 집단보다 모글 중앙에서 크게 나타났으며, 동체 비틀기각은 우수 집단이 비우수 집단보다 드롭 인 구간에서 오른쪽 턴 방향으로, 범프 업 구간에서 왼쪽 턴 방향으로 크게 나타났다.

  • With substitution with a delicate turn-tree instead of a long permanent cross-tree that is usally located on the derrick post, it is possible to get a large working range of the slewing angle 240 degree and also to decrease the slewing time of the derrick boom, comparing to the exisiting cargo gear system which has the same capacity of slewing winch.

  • In switched reluctance motor(SRM) deives, the turn-on and turn-off angles of each phase switch should be accurately controlled for accuracy and efficiency. The accuracy of the switching angles is mainly dependent upon the resolution of the encoder and the sampling period of the microprocessor, that are used to provide the information of the rotor position and to implement a control algorithm of the SRM, respectively. Thus, the higher the speed of the SRM is increased, the larger the amount of the switching angle deviations are from preset turn-on and turn-off angles. Consequently, the motor can not be driven stably high speed region. There fore, a simples and low cost encoder suitable for the practical and stable SRM drive is proposed and the control algorithm to provide the switching signals using a simple digital logic circuit is also presented for a wide speed range operation.

  • In this paper, we present the results of the wear analysis of journal bearings on a stripped-down single-cylinder engine during start-up and coast-down by motoring. We calculate journal bearing wear by using a modified specific wear rate considering the fractional film defect coefficient and load-sharing ratio for the asperity portion of a mixed elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) regime coupled with previously presented graphical data of experimental lifetime linear wear in radial journal bearings. Based on the calculated wear depth, we obtain a new oil film thickness for every crank angle. By examination of the oil film thickness, we determine whether the oil film thickness at the wear scar region is in a mixed lubrication regime by comparing dimensionless oil film thickness, h/σ, to 3.0 at every crank angle. We present the lift-off speed and the crank angles involved with the wear calculation for bearings #1 and #2. The dimensionless oil film thickness, h/σ, illustrates whether the lubrication region between the two surfaces is still within the bounds of the mixed lubrication regime after scarring of the surface by wear. In addition, we present in tables the asperity contact pressure, the real minimum film thickness at the wear scar region, the modified specific wear rate, and the wear angle, α, for bearings #1 & #2. To show the real shape of the oil film at wear scar region, we depict the actual oil film thickness in graphs. We also tabulated the ranges of bearing angles related with wear scar. We present the wear volume for bearings #1 and #2 after one turn-on and turn-off of the engine ignition switch for five kinds of equivalent surface roughness. We show that the accumulated wear volume after a single turn-on and turn-off of an ignition switch normally increases with increasing surface roughness, with a few exceptions.

  • switched reluctance motors and drives are increasingly used in industrial applications due to their robust mechanical structure, low inertia and reduction in the rotor losses. As the motor speed increase turn on angle must be advanced to build up phase current. When C-dump converter is applied to switched reluctance motor, the capacitance of dump C has to have proper value. In this paper advance angle for a switched reluctance motor and capacitance of dump C are investigated. Then proper advance angle and the capacitance of dump-C are propose for the industrial low voltage SR motor.

틸팅 시스템을 장착한 트레일러의 전복임계속도 특성 (Characteristics of the Rollover Critical Speed of a Trailer Equipped with a Tilting System)

  • 대형트럭으로 견인되는 트레일러는 무게중심이 일반 차량에 비해 상대적으로 높기 때문에 전복사고 위험이 높게 된다. 곡선 주행 구간에서 차체를 기울여 곡선부의 주행속도를 향상시키는 원리를 적용하는 틸팅 시스템은 고속철도 차량에서 먼저 그 개념이 연구되고 사용되어 왔는데, 이 논문에서는 일반 대형트럭의 트레일러 적재함에 이 틸팅 시스템을 적용함으로써 아주 작은 틸팅각의 변화로도 급회전 시 주행 안정성을 크게 개선할 수 있는 가능성에 대해 연구하였다. 틸팅 가능한 트레일러의 동역학적 모델을 사용하여 선회주행 시 운동 관계식을 유도함으로써 주어진 도로 선회반경과 하중조건에 대해 원심력 효과와 수직력의 균형으로 전복임계속도를 결정할 수 있었다. 본 논문에서는 보수적인 기준을 선택하여 한쪽 바퀴가 지면으로부터 떨어지는 순간을 전복임계상태로 정의하였다. 실제로 틸팅 시스템을 작동시키기 위해서는 조향각과 주행속도로부터 최적 틸팅각을 계산해야 한다. 트레일러가 달린 대형트럭을 간단하게 모델링하고 시뮬레이션을 통해 곡선주행시 차량의 틸팅각에 따른 전복임계속도의 변화를 분석하고, 틸팅의 효과를 입증하였다.

Optimal Excitation Angles of a Switched Reluctance Generator for Maximum Output Power

  • This paper investigates the optimal values of turn-on and turn-off angles, and ratio of flux linkage at turn-off angle and peak phase current positions of optimal control for accomplishing maximum output power in an 8/6 Switched Reluctance Generator (8/6 SRG). Phase current waveform is analyzed to determine optimal excitation angles (optimal turn-on and turn-off angles) of the SRG for maximum output power which is applied from a nonlinear magnetization curve in terms of control variables (dc bus voltage, shaft speed, and excitation angles). The optimal excitation angles in single pulse mode of operation are proposed via the analytical model. Simulated and experimental results have verified the accuracy of the analytical model.
