A Sensorless Switched Reluctance Drive System Based on the Improved Simplified Flux Method

  • This paper describes a new rotor position sensorless control method for SRM drives based on an improved simplified flux linkage method. In the traditional simplified flux linkage method, every phases take turns conduction and current chopping control method is used. Every phases take turns conduction means turning on the incoming working phase while turning off the working phase. This conduction mode causes coupling between turn-on and turn-off angles, which goes against optimal efficiency or torque ripple minimization with sensorless speed control. In the improved simplified flux linkage method, turn-off angle is calculated by flux loop, the turn-on angle can be given arbitrarily and has no relations with the turn-off angle, and the current chopping control method is used. The speed and rotor position can be estimated then. Finally, a sensorless SRM speed control system and an experiment platform with DSP are built and validity of this method is confirmed.

  • Inter-turn short circuits can have significant effects on a generator and its performance. The Inter-turn short circuits sensor for synchronous generator's field winding has been developed. The sensor, installed in the generator air-gap, senses the slot leakage flux of field winding and produces a voltage waveform proportional to the rate of change of the flux. For identification of reliability for sensor, a shorted- turn test was performed at the Seoinchon combined cycle power plant on gas turbine generator and stim turbine generator. This sensor will be used as a detecting of Inter-turn short circuits for synchronous generator's field winding.

  • This paper proposed an analytical model for the distributed magnetic field analysis of interior permanent magnet-type blush-less direct current motors under the stator-turn fault condition using the winding function theory. Stator-turn faults cause significant changes in electric and magnetic characteristic. Therefore, many studies on stator-turn faults have been performed by simulation of the finite element method because of its non-linear characteristic. However, this is difficult to apply to on-line fault detection systems because the processing time of the finite element method is very long. Fault-tolerant control systems require diagnostic methods that have simple processing systems and can produce accurate information. Thus analytical modeling of a stator-turn fault has been performed using the winding function theory, and the distributed magnetic characteristics have been analyzed under the fault condition. The proposed analytical model was verified using the finite element method.

알파인 스킹 시 카빙 턴과 베이직 패러렐 턴 간의 신체중심 및 하지관절의 운동학적 패턴 비교 (Comparisons of Center of Mass and Lower Extremity Kinematic Patterns between Carved and Basic Parallel Turn during Alpine Skiing)

  • This study investigated the center of mass and lower extremity kinematic patterns between carved and basic paralell turn during alpine skiing. Six experienced skiers (age: $20.67{\pm}4.72yrs$, body mass: $72.67{\pm}7.15kg$, height: $171.00{\pm}5.51cm$) participated in this study. Each skier were asked to perform carved and basic paralell turn on a $22.95^{\circ}$ groomed slope. Each turn was divided into the initiation phase, steering phase 1 and 2. The results of this study show that the carved turn spent significantly less running time than basic paralell turn at all three phases (p<.05). Also vertical displacement of the center of mass was significantly greater in carved turn at all three phases, whereas inward leaning angle of the center of mass was significantly greater in carved turn at the steering phase 1 and 2 (p<.05). Bilateral knee and hip joint angle were significantly greater in basic paralell turn at the initiation phase and the steering phase 2 (p<.05). On the other hand, left knee and hip joint angle were significantly greater in basic paralell turn at the steering phase 1 (p<.05). In order to perform successful carved turn, we suggest that skiers should coordinate bilateral knee and hip joint angles to adjust the center of mass, depending on three ski turn phases.

단거리 순환버스 도입을 위한 통행패턴 기반의 우선순위 결정방법 (A Prioritization Method Considering Trip Patterns to Introduce Short-turn Buses)

  • 기존 노선의 일부 구간을 운행하는 버스를 '단거리순환버스(short-turn bus)'라 하는데, 단거리순환버스 관련 연구는 버스 네트워크보다 단일 노선에 대해 최적 회차지점을 결정하였으며, 대중교통의 편의성에 큰 영향을 미치는 차내혼잡을 고려하지 않은 한계가 존재한다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 버스 네트워크의 노선별 및 구간별로 단거리순환버스 도입의 우선순위를 차내 혼잡을 반영하여 결정하는 방법론을 개발하였다. 이를 위해 교통카드 데이터 기반으로 단거리 순환버스 노선과 중복되는 기존 버스 노선들의 단거리순환버스 도입 전후의 재차인원을 산정하고, 단거리순환버스 도입 전후의 버스 네트워크 전체에서의 차내혼잡 감소 편익을 산정하였다. 또한, 단거리순환버스 도입으로 인한 운영자 및 사회적 비용을 산정하여 단거리순환버스를 도입할 노선 및 그 노선 내에서의 운행 구간을 변화시켜 반복적으로 결과를 도출하였다. 한 노선 내에서 단거리순환버스 도입의 비용/편익 비(B/C)가 가장 큰 구간을 그 노선의 단거리순환버스 도입 구간으로 채택하였다. B/C 값을 기반으로 버스 노선들의 단거리순환버스 도입 우선순위를 결정하였으며, 여러 노선에 도입할 경우의 최적 대수를 산정하였다.

Self-Tuning Control of SRM for Maximum Torque with Current and Shaft Position Feedback

  • In this paper, we present self-tuning control of switched reluctance motor for maximum torque with phase current and shaft position sensor. Determination method of turn-on/off angle is realized by using self-tuning control method. During the sampling time, micro-controller checks the number of pulse from encoder and compare with the number of pre-checked pulse. After micro-controller calculates between two data, it moves forward or backward turn-off angle. When the turn-off angle is fixed optimal turn-off angle, the turn-on angle automatically moves forward or backward by a step using self-tuning control method. And then, optimal turn-off angle is searched once again. As such a repeating process, turn-on/off angle is moved automatically to obtain the maximum torque. The experimental results are presented to validate the self-tuning algorithm.

비보호 좌회전 포화유률 추정 (Estimation of Unprotected Left-Turn Saturation Flows)

  • When the capacity and traffic operation at signalized intersections are analyzed in Korea, the unprotected left-turn saturation flow rate, which is an important parameter for the analysis, is estimated form the USHCM model. thus, exact analysis of the left-turn is not possible because of the difference of traffic environments between two contries. In order to improve this problem, it is undertaken in this study to develop techniques for the estimation of unprotected left-turn saturation flows based on Korean drivers' data. As study intersections, signalized or unsignalized intersections on the 6, 4 and 2 lane streets are selected. the data for the saturation flow measurement and gap-acceptance behavior analysis are inputed in a notebook computer on the sites. The critical acceptance gaps of the 6, 4, and 2 lane streets are analyzed to be 6.0 secs, 4.6 secs, and 4.3 secs respectively. the average minimum headway of the left-turn vehicle was observed to be 2.6 secs. As the model to estimate unportected left-turn saturation flows, the drew model is recommended for 6 and 4 lane streets, and a graph is suggested for the 2-lane street. As the values of the parameters of the Drew model, the 2.6 secs of this study is recommended for the average minimum headway of the left-turn. But, the critical acceptance gap varies according to the approach speed of opposing traffic and driver population, it requires field survey to measure the gap of an intersection; however, the values of the gaps studied in this study may be used for the general intersections in urban area in Korean.

신호교차로에서 우회전교통류 운영방안 (Right-Turn Traffic Operation at Signalized Intersections)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 국내 신호교차로에서의 우회전 운영에 관한 문제점을 분석하고, 적절한 우회전 운영 방안을 정립 및 제시하는데 있다. 현장 조사 결과 국내 우회전 전용 신호등은 다양한 종류 및 형태로 운영되고 있으며 관련 규정이나 기준도 명확하지 않다. 또한 우회전 신호등에서 사용하는 적색신호의 의미가 도로교통법 상에 명시된 적색 원형 등화의 의미에 위배되는 문제점이 있다. 이는 운전자에게 혼란을 줄 수 있고 이에 따른 사고 발생의 위험도 존재한다. 국내는 기존에 적신호시 우회전을 허용함으로서 우회전 운영에 관한 연구가 활발하게 이루어지지 않았으나 최근 우회전 교통류에 대한 제어의 필요성이 증가함에 따라 이에 관한 제도 및 운영 방안 정립이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 우회전 운영과 관련한 기존 연구를 고찰하고 해외 여러 국가의 우회전 운영 관련 지침을 검토하여 국내 우회전 운영방안을 정립하고 제시한다. 우회전 비보호 운영시에는 적색 신호의 의미를 우회전 차량에 대하여 일단 정지 후 진행할 수 있도록 명시하는 것이 필요하다. 우회전 보호 운영을 위한 우회전 신호등 설치 시 우회전 전용차로가 하나 이상 확보된 경우에만 설치할 수 있도록 규정해야 한다. 기존 신호등과 우회전 신호등의 차별성을 위하여 삼색 화살표 신호등을 우회전 전용 신호등으로 사용할 것을 제안한다. 또한 우회전 운영방안을 비보호, 보호, 보호 비보호의 세 가지 유형으로 구분하여 각 유형별 구체적인 운영 방안을 제시한다.

  • In this paper, turn on characteristics of (Punch-Through Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) PT-IGBT has been studied. Based on the transient power loss, turn on charges first base to collector capacitance. Furthermore we present the charge variation in the base including n+ buffer layer to express the transient turn-on characteristics of the device.

스위치드 릴럭턴스 발전기의 스위칭에 따른 특성 (Characteristics Analysis According to Switching of Switched Reluctance Generator)

  • A switched reluctance generator(SRG) has simple magnetic structure, and needs simple power electronic driving circuit. But, a SRG are no windings or permanent magnets on the rotor, and there are concentrated windings placed around each salient pole on the stator. Because of the characteristics of time-sharing excitation, the control of SRG is very flexible. And there are several parameters for controlling SRG, such as switch turn-on angle, switch turn-off angle, and exciting voltage and controlling mode, all these will affect the generation greatly. A SRG has positive torque at increasing inductance region and negative torque at decreasing inductance region. In this paper, we studied characteristics about the switch turn-on and off angles according to switch method for constant output voltage of the fixed speed SRG. It is the acoustic noise and torque ripple characteristics. Characteristics for a switch angle and method are presented by experiment using a 50W SRG with 12/8 poles.
