  • The vector control system of an induction motor is the high performance drive system to achieve the instantaneous torque control. The vector control system is greatly divided into the direct control, and the indirect control that the most widely is used, The indirect vector control needs the rotor time constant, which changes widely according to the temperature, frequency, and current amplitude. The incorrect time constant leads to the saturation of magnetic flux or under-excitation phenomena. As a result, that deteriorate the control performance. Therefore, in this paper, the effect of time constant variation is investigated and its on-line tuning algorithm is proposed. The time constant using the torque angles was calculated and that of the validity of algorithm proposed was proved through the computer simulation and the experiment.

  • With the using the microprocessor, this paper presents DC servo motor control characteristics by Self-Tuning PID controller and considers position control response with controller of DC servo motor for robot drive. As this system is supported by a channel, it is considered to enough application effect in industry region such as needing multi joint robot and precision parallel driving.

Ti:LiNbO3 2×2 Optical Add/Drop Multiplexers Utilizing Acousto-Optic Effect

  • An integrated optical 2$\times$2 add/drop multiplexer in X-cut, Y-propagating LiNbO$_3$ has been demonstrated. The device consists of passive polarization splitters and acousto-optical mode converters with weighted coupling utilizing tapered acoustical directional couplers; their specific design and properties are discussed. The insertion loss has been measured to be about -8.16 ㏈ and -8.6 ㏈ for TE and TM polarizations, respectively. The device shows a 3 ㏈ bandwidth of 2.3 nm, a tuning rate 8.34 nm/MHz around λ = 1554 nm, and a sidelobe suppression of about 14.5 ㏈. Optimum operation is achieved with a RF drive power of about 43 ㎽. Multi-wavelength operation has been demonstrated.

Chemiluminescence Properties of Polymeric Fluorophores Containing Distyrylarylene Unit

  • Conjugated-non-conjugated alternating block copolymers containing distyrylarylene units were synthesized via Wittig reaction for chemiluminescent fluorophores. The polymers were differentiated from others by the presence of aromatic unit in the chromophoric block. When UV-VIS, photoluminescence and chemiluminescence spectra of these materials were compared with copolymers, a strong bathochromic effect was observed. A more pronounced red shift and higher chemiluminscence efficiency were observed in the polymer with anthracene ring. Sodium salicylate-catalyzed reaction of bis(2-carbopentyloxy-3,5,6-trichlorophenyl) oxalate with hydrogen peroxide produced a strong chemiluminescence from blue to yellow-green light emission with wavelength of 450-537 nm in the presence of the fluorophore. The chemiluminescent intensity decayed exponentially. The glow of chemiluminescence maintained more than l2 hr and was visible with the naked eye.

나노튜브 전극을 기반으로 한 플렉서블 양자점 감응 태양전지 (Flexible Cu-In-Se Quantum Dot-Sensitized Solar Cells Based on Nanotube Electrodes)

  • Quantum dots (QDs) are an attractive material for application in solar energy conversion devices because of their unique properties including facile band-gap tuning, a high-absorption coefficient, low-cost processing, and the potential multiple exciton generation effect. Recently, highly efficient quantum dot-sensitized solar cells (QDSCs) have been developed based on CdSe, PbS, CdS, and Cu-In-Se QDs. However, for the commercialization and wide application of these QDSCs, replacing the conventional rigid glass substrates with flexible substrates is required. Here, we demonstrate flexible CISe QDSCs based on vertically aligned $TiO_2$ nanotube (NT) electrodes. The highly uniform $TiO_2$ NT electrodes are prepared by two-step anodic oxidation. Using these flexible photoanodes and semi-transparent Pt counter electrodes, we fabricate the QDSCs and examine their photovoltaic properties. In particular, photovoltaic performances are optimized by controlling the nanostructure of $TiO_2$ NT electrodes.

LSTM 모델의 하이퍼 파라미터가 암호화폐 가격 예측에 미치는 영향 분석 (Understanding the effect of LSTM hyperparameters tuning on Cryptocurrency Price Prediction)

  • 최근 암호화폐가 발전함에 따라 다양한 연구들이 진행되고 있지만 그 중에서도 암호화폐의 가격 예측 연구들이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 특히 이러한 예측 분야에서도 인공지능 기술을 접목시켜 암호화폐 가격의 예측 정확도를 높이려는 노력들이 지속되고 있다. 인공지능 기반의 기법들 중 시간적 정보를 가진 데이터를 기반으로 하고 있는 LSTM(Long Short-Term Memory) 모델이 다각도로 활용되고 있으나 급등락하는 암호화폐 가격 데이터가 많을 경우에는 그 성능이 상대적으로 낮아질 수 밖에 없다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 가격이 급등락하고 있는 Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dash 암호화폐 데이터 환경에서 LSTM 모델의 예측 성능이 향상될 수 있는 세부 하이퍼 파라미터 값을 실험 및 분석하고, 그 결과의 의미에 대해 고찰한다. 이를 위해 LSTM 모델에서 향상된 예측률을 보일 수 있는 epoch, hidden layer 수, optimizer 에 대해 분석하였고, 최적의 예측 결과를 도출해 줄 수 있는 최소 training data 개수도 함께 살펴보았다.

Effect of soil in controlling the seismic response of three-dimensional PBPD high-rise concrete structures

  • In the last decades, valuable results have been reported regarding conventional passive, active, semi-active, and hybrid structural control systems on two-dimensional and a few three-dimensional shear buildings. In this research, using a three-dimensional finite element model of high-rise concrete structures, designed by performance based plastic design method, it was attempted to construct a relatively close to reality model of concrete structures equipped with Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) by considering the effect of soil-structure interaction (SSI), torsion effect, hysteresis behavior and cracking effect of concrete. In contrast to previous studies which have focused mainly on linearly designed structures, in this study, using performance-based plastic design (PBPD) design approach, nonlinear behavior of the structures was considered from the beginning of the design stage. Inelastic time history analysis on a detailed model of twenty-story concrete structure was performed under a far-field ground motion record set. The seismic responses of the structure by considering SSI effect are studied by eight main objective functions that are related to the performance of the structure, containing: lateral displacement, acceleration, inter-story drift, plastic energy dissipation, shear force, number of plastic hinges, local plastic energy and rotation of plastic hinges. The tuning problem of TMD based on tuned mass spectra is set by considering five of the eight previously described functions. Results reveal that the structural damage distribution range is retracted and inter-story drift distribution in height of the structure is more uniform. It is strongly suggested to consider the effect of SSI in structural design and analysis.

Effect of thiophenol-based ligands on photoluminescence of quantum dot nanocrystals

  • Quantum dot nanocrystals(QDs) have been emerged as next generation materials in the field of energy harvesting, sensor, and light emitting because of their compatibility with solution process and controllable energy band gap. Especially, characteristics of color tuning and color purity make it possible for QDs to be used photoluminescence materials. Photoluminescence devices with QDs have been researched for a long time. Photoluminescence quantum yield(PL QY) is important factor that defines the performance of Photoluminescence devices. One of the ways to achieve better PL QY is ligand modification. If ligands are changed to proper electron donating group, electrons can be confined in the core which results in enhancement of PL QY. Because of the reason, short ligands are preferred for enhancing PL QY. Thiophenol-based ligands are shorter than typical alkyl chain ligands. In this study, the effect of thiophenol-based ligands with different functional groups are investigated. Four different types of thiophenol-based organic materials are used as organic capping ligand. QDs with bare thiophenol and fluorothiophenol show better quantum yield compared to oleic acid.

Linear Quadratic Servo Design for Magnetic Levitation Systems Considering Disturbance Forces from Linear Synchronous Motor

  • Recently, the demand of maglev systems in the manufacturing industry for LCD and OLED display panels, which are required to be very clean and possess vacuum systems, has been increasing due to their characteristics such as being non-contact, noise free and eco-friendly. However, it is still a challenge to simultaneously control both the propulsion and levitation for their interactive effect difficult to be exactly measured. In this paper, we proposed a new tuning method for controlling the magnetic levitation force robustly against the levitation disturbance caused by a propulsion system, based on LQ servo optimal control. The disturbance torque of the LSM propulsion system is calculated through FEM analysis in such a way that the LQ servo controller is determined in order to minimize the effect of the disturbance. The robust performance of the proposed LQ servo control method for the in-track type magnetic levitation systems is demonstrated via simulations and experiments.

연소실내 공명기 장착 위치에 따른 음향갑쇠 효과에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Effect of Half-Wave Resonator Position on Acoustic Damping in a Combustion Chamber)

  • 연소실내 음향 감쇠를 위해 장착되는 반파장 공명기의 반경 방향 위치 효과를, 상온에서의 선형 음향 실험을 통해 실험적으로 연구하였다. 음향 감쇠의 정량화를 위해 감쇠 인자를 사용하였다. 감쇠하고 하는 음향 모드에 대해 공명기가 최적의 길이를 갖는 경우에는, 반경 방향 위치의 증가에 따라 음향 감쇠 효과가 증가하였다. 또한, 감쇠 인자의 변화 추이는 감쇠시키고자 하는 음향 모드의 진폭 변화 추이와 유사하였다. 장착 위치가 장착면의 중심에 접근할수록 음향 감쇠 효과가 감소할 뿐만 아니라 분사기 길이와의 상관성토 감소하였다. 한편, 공명기가 비최적 길이를 갖는 경우에는, 반경 방향 위치 효과가 거의 나타나지 않아 위치와 무관한 감쇠 인자값을 관찰할 수 있었다. 공명기의 길이와 위치에 따라 감쇠 성능을 평가하였다.
