  • Acupuncture has been clinically used to treat patients suffering from eye disease. It has been used in efforts to help preserve vision for those with a wide range of eye conditions including glaucoma and intraocular hypertension. High intraocular pressure (IOP) is usually associated with glaucoma and conventional treatment is focused on lowering IOP. Controlling this risk factor should help hasten the onset of glaucoma for those patents that are suspect or borderline candidates for glaucoma. In review of the limited scientific research there are not many studies that support conclusive evidence for the use of acupuncture on eye diseases and particularly glaucoma and ocular hypertension. For the information that does exist, diverse results from various interventions make it difficult to draw clear conclusions. The existing studies use different acupoints, techniques, frequencies, and durations. Individual treatment strategies according to the practitioner's subjective experience, patient condition, and the use of other complimentary and natural strategies is ideal for taking a more dynamic and wholistic approach to getting results. Until more pragmatic research models are funded and implemented, case reports can offer good examples of experiential and objective outcomes. This case report presents a 61 year old healthy female patient diagnosed with open-angle borderline glaucoma with elevated IOP. The patients IOP was successfully reduced with 12 treatments over three months using scalp electro-acupuncture and distal Master Tung points.

The influence of acupuncture points on hand acupuncture system was almost added by those of coordinated original acupuncture system point on those of hand acupuncture system point. 3. The influence of non coordinated hand acupuncture points with several original acupuncture points was according to those of up or down point on same meridian. 4. Tung;s acupuncture system had no corelationship with other two acupuncture systems, where it has no holistic system on original princeple and Extra-points had also no corelationship, where it has no meridian system.

Methods : The patient who has scoliosis and sciatic pain was treated by Korean medicine and Shoe Lift. The patient's symptoms were assessed by Cobb's angle, correctability, verbal numberical rating scale(VNRS) and revised oswestry disability questionnaire(RODQ) every week. Results : After 18weeks treatment, Cobb's angle correctability was 34.357%. Patient's VNRS score and RODQ score were decreased each from 10 to 1 and from 41 to 6. Conclusions : This result suggest that Korean medicine and Shoe Lift were effective treatment on patient for scoliosis with sciatic pain.

All patients were treated 2~3 times based on the patient's condition. To evaluate change of pain and function, we used Shoulder Pain and Disability Index(SPADI), Numeric Rating Scale(NRS) and Range Of Motion(ROM). Evaluations were made at baseline and one week and two weeks after treatment. Results : There was remarkable improvement in SPADI, NRS and ROM. Conclusions : This study suggested the possibility that the ligamentum pharmacopuncture therapy may be useful for the treatment of shoulder pain. Follow-up study is needed.

Method : In this study, I do acupuncture treatment and herbal-acupuncture in ST36 GB39 by solution that diluted to fivefold and tenfold with combined solution of Bovis Calcuclus and Ursi Fel at 10:1. And then I observed the change of inhibitory rate of paw edema, body weight, hematologic assay, histologic assay. Result : 1. In Adjuvant Arthritis in rats, the herbal-acupuncture group 1 is more efficienct then acupuncture group. 2. In histologic assay of knee joint, synovial cell and fibroblast markedly activated in herbal-acupuncture group. 3. The albumin level in serum more markedly increased in herbal-acupuncture group 2 than the control group. 4. The paw edema significantly decreased in acupuncture group and herbal-acupuncture group 2 compared with the control group. 5. The body weight significantly increased in acupuncture group and herbal-acupuncture group 2 compared with the control group. • Objectives : This study was performed to investigate the correlation between Cobb's angle and digital infrared thermographic imaging(DITI) on adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. Methods : A total of 56 patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis were classified into four groups according to their Cobb's angle. Four groups were made for each increment of $5^{\circ}$: group $5-10^{\circ}$, group $11-15^{\circ}$, group $16-20^{\circ}$, and group $21-25^{\circ}$. Next we checked thermal differences of 6 acupoints(GB21, BL13, BL15, BL20, BL23, BL26) on DITI and analyzed correlation by SPSS ver. 20.0.0 for windows. Results : 1. The average patient age was approximately 13 years old. 2. The majority of patients complained of pain on both sides. 3. Significant correlation was found between group $11-15^{\circ}$ and group $16-20^{\circ}$, group $16-20^{\circ}$ and group $21-25^{\circ}$ on Simsu(BL15) by Duncan test. Conclusion : Using DITI, Simsu(BL15) is expected to be a valid indicator for the diagnosis and treatment of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.
