솔리드 요소를 이용한 적층복합재 구멍의 형상 최적화 (Shape Optimization of Three-Dimensional Cutouts in Laminated Composite Plates Using Solid Element)

  • Shape optimization was performed to obtain the precise shape of cutouts including the internal shape of cutouts in laminated composite plates by three dimensional modeling using solid element. The volume control of the growth-strain method was implemented and the distributed parameter chosen as Tsai-Hill fracture index for shape optimization. The volume control of the growth-strain method makes Tsai-Hill failure index at each element uniform in laminated composites under the initial volume. Then shapes optimized by Tsai-Hill failure index were compared with those of the initial shapes for the various load conditions and cutouts. The following conclusions were obtained in this study (1) It was found that growth-strain method was applied efficiently to shape optimization of three dimensional cutouts in a laminated composite plate, (2) The optimal shapes on the various load conditions and cutouts were obtained, (3) The maximum Tsai-Hill failure index was reduced up to 67% when shape optimization was performed under the initial volume by volume control of growth-strain method.

Optimization of hybrid composite plates using Tsai-Wu Criteria

  • In this study, previously developed algorithm is used for Optimization of hybrid composite plates using Tsai-Wu criteria. For the stress-based Design Optimization problems, Von-Mises stress uses as design variable for isotropic materials. Maximum stress, maximum strain, Tsai Hill, and Tsai-Wu criteria are generally used to determine failure of composite materials. In this study, failure index value is used as design variable in the optimization algorithm and Tsai-Wu criteria is utilized to calculate this value. In the analyses, commonly used design domains according to different hybrid orientations are optimized and results are presented. When the optimization algorithm was applied, 50% material reduction was obtained without exceeding allowable failure index value.

  • An optimization procedure is proposed for the design of cylindrically laminated composite shell having midplane symmetry and subjected to axial force, torsion and internal pressure. Tsai-Wu and Tsai-Hill failure criteria are taken as objective functions. The stacking sequence represents the design variable. The optimal design formulation based on state space method is adopted and solution proccedure is described with the emphasis on the method of calculations of the design sensitivities. A gradient projection algorithm is employed for the optimization process. Numerical results are presented for the several test problems.

  • 본 연구는 복합재료 교량의 온도변화에 따른 정밀해석과 이를 통한 복합재료 교량의 파괴거동을 조사하였다. 그 결과 매우 높은 주변 온도에서 복합재료 상 하부 표면의 파괴지표가 Core 요소의 파괴지표에 비하여 상대적으로 작은 값을 나타내어 충분한 온도 수용력이 있음이 나타났으며, 화재로 인해 급격한 온도변화 발생 할 경우 vinyl ester resin의 유리변화 온도 즉, $504^{\circ}C$에 근접함에 따라 국부적인 지역의 큰 온도경사가 발생하여 Tsai-Hill 파괴지표 또한 크게 변함을 나타났다.
