A Study on Status Investigation and Improvement for Safety Management of Zipline(I) (짚라인의 안전관리 실태와 개선방향에 관한 연구(I))

  • Recently, the number of facilities and users of zipline which is the most popular among extreme leisure facilities has been increasing year by year. Zipline is a means of transporting durable wire between two timber or stay and moving the trolley connected to the passenger at high speed in the opposite direction. However, due to the nature of the zip line facility, the risk of accidents is always present and safety accidents are frequently occurring. Therefore, this study investigates the current state of safety management and extract the problem in terms of safety management through analyzing the installation state of zipline facilities in the case of accidents and reviewing of similar facility regulations. In order to solve this problem, we will contribute to establishment of comprehensive and systematic countermeasures and establishment of safety improvement system by suggesting measures to improve safety management through analyzing foreign regulations and safety management regulations for zipline and other extreme leisure facilities.

Development of the Position Control Algorithm for Nonlinear Overhead Crane Systems (비선형 천장 크레인시스템의 위치제어 알고리즘 개발)

  • An overhead crane system which transports an object by girder motion, trolley motion, and hoist motion becomes a nonlinear system because the length of a rope changes. To develope the position control algorithm for the nonlinear crane systems, we apply a nonlinear optimal control method which uses forward and backward difference methods and obtain optimal inputs. This method is suitable for the overhead crane system which is characterized by the differential equation of higher degree and swing motion. From the results of computer simulation, it is founded that the position of the overhead crane system is controlled, and the swing of the object is suppressed.

  • The sway motion of the spreader during and after movement causes an efficiency problem of position control in unmaned gantry crane. The objective of this research is to investigate the phenomenon that the load is taken by the sway motion of crane. For deriving the dynamic equations related to the swing motion of crane, we introduced a conception of spring and damper in the upper part of the crane. During the crane and trolley is driving along the velocity profile, the swing motion of the spreader and crane will be simulated. The simulation result of the equation of motion using the Runge-Kutta method is presented in this paper. And we will show an effect of the swing of the crane in this research.

  • In designing the anti-sway controller for crane system in the industrial field, one of the basic problem is to keep the stability of system, even if the mathematical model of the plant is not exact and disturbance exists. Form this point of view, a two-degree-of-freedom(2DOF) servo controller effact to the system in which the integral compensation is effctive only when a modeling error and/or a disturbance input exist. In this paper, the change of load weight and variation of wire rope length considered as the structured uncertainty, and design the 2DOF servo contorller using independently the informations of reference signal and control output with both feedforward and feedback. The effectivenss is proved through the results for the anti-sway system in the system with the position control of trolley.

  • In this paper, we consider the sway suppression control problem for container cranes with load hoisting. The proposed control law improves the positioning accuracy but also the sway suppression through fast stabilization of the under-actuated sway dynamics, which is based on a class of feedback linearizing control incorporated with an additional control including the sway angle and its rate as well as positioning errors and their rates. For the design of the additional control, a variable structure control with the proper sway damping and simple switching action is employed, thus preventing excessive overshoots of the trolley travelljng and effectively suppressing the residual sway of container arrived at the target position. Simulation results are provided to show effectiveness of the proposed controller in the presence of such uncertainties as winds and the variation of payload weights.

  • An urban railway power substation consists of three thyristor dual converters. Two converters are connected to up and down trolley line to supply the electric energy or feed the regenerative energy back to the distribution. When the two converters break down, the remaining converter is used in an emergency. One thyristor dual converter system (TDCS) manages the energy of two or three railway stations. If the TDCS fails, the trains stop operating. To solve the problem, this paper proposes the three parallel operation control algorithm of thyristor dual converter system using the emergency converter. The broken TDCS can be replaced by the emergency converter in other TDCS. The effectiveness of this proposed control is verified by simulation.

  • Crane operation for transporting heavy loads causes swinging motion at the loads due to crane's acceleration and deceleration. This sway causes the suspension ropes to leave their grooves and leads to possibility of serious damages. So, this swing of the objects is a serious problem and the goal of crane system is transporting to a goal position as soon as possible without the oscillation of the rope. Generally crane is operated by expert's knowledge. Therefore, a satisfactory control method to supress object sway during transport is indispensible. The dynamic behavior of the crane shows nonlinear characteristics. when the length of the rope is changed the crane is time varying system and the design of anti-sway controller is very difficult. In this paper, the nonlinear dynamic model for the industrial overhead crane whose girder, trolley and hoister move simultaneously is derived. and the Fuzzy logic controller based on the expert experiments during acceleration, constant velocity, deceleration and stop position period is proposed to supress the swing motion and control the position of the crane. The performance of the fuzzy controller for the nonlinear crane model is simulated on the personal computer.

  • This paper introduces the design of a bridge transport system with a telescopic tube for positioning equipment to perform remote handling tasks in a radioactive facility. It consists of an extensible and retractable telescopic tube assembly for z-direction motion, a cabling system for management of power and signal cables, and a trolley system for transverse motion and accommodating servo drives. The working environment for the bridge transport system with the telescopic tube requires strict geometrical constraints, including a short height, short telescopic tube length when retracted, and a long stroke. These constraints were met by solving a nonlinear programming problem involving the optimal dimensions. This paper introduces a cabling system for effective management of cables with changeable lengths to accommodate telescopic motions and a selection guide for servo drives that are sufficient to drive the system.

  • The line current problem(2-dimensional space : point source) is not easy to analyze the magnetic field using the standard finite element method(FEM), such as overhead trolley line or transmission line. To supplement such a defect this paper is proposed the coupling scheme of analytical solution and FEM. In analysis of the magnetic field using the standard FEM. If the current region is a relatively small compared to the whole region. Therefore the current region must be finely divided using a large number of elements. And the large number of elements increase the number of unknown variables and the use of computer memories. In this paper, an analytical solution is suggested to supplement this weak points. When source is line current and the part of interest is far from line current, the analytical solution can be coupling with FEM at the boundary. Analytical solution can be described by the multiplication of two functions. One is power function of radius, the other is a trigonometric function of angle in the cylindrical coordinate system. There are integral constants of two types which can be established by fourier series expansion. Also fourier series is represented as the factor to apply the continuity of the magnetic vector potential and magnetic field intensity with tangential component at the boundary. To verify the proposed algorithm, we chose simplified model existing magnetic material in FE region. The results are compared with standard FE solution. And it is good agreed by increasing harmonic order.
