  • This paper presents a non-contact type displacement sensor designed based on optical triangulation method. The optical principles of the sensor are described in detail with aids of paraxial geometric optics. A prototype sensor is designed and fabricated by using modern optoelectronic hardware. Its measuring performances are evaluated and discussed through a series of calibration processes.

A Compact Divide-and-conquer Algorithm for Delaunay Triangulation with an Array-based Data Structure (배열기반 데이터 구조를 이용한 간략한 divide-and-conquer 삼각화 알고리즘)

  • Most divide-and-conquer implementations for Delaunay triangulation utilize quad-edge or winged-edge data structure since triangles are frequently deleted and created during the merge process. How-ever, the proposed divide-and-conquer algorithm utilizes the array based data structure that is much simpler than the quad-edge data structure and requires less memory allocation. The proposed algorithm has two important features. Firstly, the information of space partitioning is represented as a permutation vector sequence in a vertices array, thus no additional data is required for the space partitioning. The permutation vector represents adaptively divided regions in two dimensions. The two-dimensional partitioning of the space is more efficient than one-dimensional partitioning in the merge process. Secondly, there is no deletion of edge in merge process and thus no bookkeeping of complex intermediate state for topology change is necessary. The algorithm is described in a compact manner with the proposed data structures and operators so that it can be easily implemented with computational efficiency.

  • 매년 재난/재해의 발생 빈도와 피해 규모가 증가하고 있다. 그 피해를 최소화하기 위해 주기적인 모니터링을 수행하여 위기 상황을 사전에 대비하고 긴급 대응 체계를 구축하여 상황 발생 시 피해 상황을 신속하게 파악할 수시스템에 있어야 한다. 모니터링의 용이성과 신속성을 확보하기 위해 UAV에 기반한 긴급 매핑 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 그러나 이러한 시스템으로부터 획득된 센서 데이터가 Georeferencing되었을 때 이로부터 다양한 공간 정보를 도출할 수 있다 본 논문에서는 UAV 기반의 매핑 시스템으로부터 획득된 센서 데이터를 시뮬레이션 해보고 시뮬레이션 데이터에 대하여 Aerial Triangulation을 수행하여 영상을 Georeferncing하고 위치/자세 정보를 보정하고자 한다. 실험은 (1) 시뮬레이션 데이터 생성, (2) 초기값 생성, (3) AT 수행을 통한 위치/자세 조정의 3단계로 구성된다. 800m 길이의 1개 스트립, 500m 길이의 2개 스트립으로 나눠 비행경로를 정하고 200m, 400m, 600m의 비행고도에 대하여 다양한 실험을 수행하였다. 실험 결과 위치/자세의 초기값 RMSE에서 90% 이상 개선된 RMSE를 얻을 수 있었으며, 비행고도가 높아질수록 RMSE의 향상도는 반비례하였다. 향후에는 Sequential 알고리즘을 적용하여 연산 속도를 향상시킬 수 있고 궁극적으로 실시간 영상 Georeferencing을 가능하게 할 것으로 기대된다.

Design of 3D Laser Radar Based on Laser Triangulation

  • The aim of this paper is to design a 3D laser radar prototype based on laser triangulation. The mathematical model of distance sensitivity is deduced; a pixel-distance conversion formula is discussed and used to complete 3D scanning. The center position extraction algorithm of the spot is proposed, and the error of the linear laser, camera distortion and installation are corrected by using the proposed weighted average algorithm. Finally, the three-dimensional analytic computational algorithm is given to transform the measured distance into point cloud data. The experimental results show that this 3D laser radar can accomplish the 3D object scanning and the environment 3D reconstruction task. In addition, the experiment result proves that the product of the camera focal length and the baseline length is the key factor to influence measurement accuracy.

Availability Evaluation For Generation Orthoimage Using Photogrammetric UAV System (사진측량용 UAV 시스템을 이용한 정사영상 제작 및 활용성 평가)

  • This study analyzes the accuracy of ortho imagery based on whether camera calibration performed or not, using an unmanned aerial vehicle which equipped smart camera. Photgrammetric UAV system application was developed and smart camera performed image triangulation, and then created image as ortho imagery. Image triangulation was performed depending on whether interior orientation (IO) parameters were considered or not, which determined at the camera calibration phase. As a result of the camera calibration, RMS error appeared 0.57 pixel, which is more accurate compared to the result of the previous study using non-metric camera. When IO parameters were considered in static experiment, the triangulation resulted in 2 pixel or less (RMSE), which is at least 200 % higher than when IO parameters were not considered. After generate ortho imagery, the accuracy is 89% higher when camera calibration are considered than when they are not considered. Therefore, smart camera has high potential to use as a payload for UAV system and is expected to be equipped on the current UAV system to function directly or indirectly.

  • This paper verified error of STL file and presented a new application of reformed division method for reducing to appeared error by using Delaunay triangulation method that used to modify error of verified data. First, it is analyzed each vertices in hole error and classified follow case that is 1. case of plan or slope, 2. case of edge, 3. case of apex and 4. case of rapid curve, and reduced volume tolerance between original model and converted model after convert STL file.

Dynamic Modeling and Georegistration of Airborne Video Sequences

  • Rigorous sensor and dynamic modeling techniques are required if spatial information is to be accurately extracted from video imagery. First, a mathematical model for an uncalibrated video camera and a description of a bundle adjustment with added parameters, for purposes of general block triangulation, is presented. This is followed by the application of invariance-based techniques, with constraints, to derive initial approximations for the camera parameters. Finally, dynamic modeling using the Kalman Filter is discussed. The results of various experiments with real video imagery, which apply the developed techniques, are given.

  • We propose a triangulation method based on stereo vision angles. We setup stereo vision systems which extract the depth information to a moving object by detecting a moving object using difference image method and obtaining the depth information by the triangulation method based on stereo vision angles. The feature point of a moving object is used the geometrical center of the moving object, and the proposed vision system has the accuracy of 0.2mm in the range of 400mm.

Mosaicking of Fingerprint Minutiae Using Minutiae Constellation (특징점의 별자리 형태를 이용한 지문의 특징점 융합)

  • In this paper, fingerprint minutiae mosaicking algorithm using minutiae of fingerprint is proposed. First, minutiae map is generated from minutiae of fingerprint and minutiae constellation is generated from fingerprint minutiae map. Minutiae constellation is constellation-shaped structure generated from Voronoi Diagram and Delaunay Triangulation using information of minutiae. Secondly, common region is detected by similarity of minutiae constellation of fingerprint minutiae map and minutiae map of individual fingerprint image is composed. Consequently composite minutiae map by mosaicking of fingerprint minutiae improve the performance of the fingerprint matching system.

The special requirements of terrain modelling are discussed as well as a detailed description of the algorithm and an example of its application.
