Properties of Triangle-Shaped Fuzzy Membership Function (삼각 퍼지 멤버쉽함수의 특성)

  • Fuzzy membership functions are some kinds of mapping function for the fuzzification and the defuzzification. Triangle-shaped fuzzy membership functions are widely used in fuzzy controller, for it is easy to implement. In these membership functions, it is known that narrower fuzzy sets permit finer control near the operating point than that far from the operating point. $Supp{\acute{o}}se$ we have a membership function with narrower triangle near zero and wider triangle far from zero. The membership function will make fine control when small input is given and rough control at large input. Therefore the performance of the controller with that membership function will be enhanced. This paper presents how the width of triangle base in the fuzzy membership function has influence on the output using geometrical approaches.

  • The taxicab distance and Chinese-checker distance in the plane are practical distance notions with a wide range of applications compared to the Euclidean distance. The ${\alpha}$-distance was introduced as a generalization of these two distance functions. In this paper, we study alpha circle, trigonometry, and the area of a triangle in the plane with ${\alpha}$-distance.

  • Ceramide is important not only for the maintenance of the barrier function of the skin but also for the water-binding capacity of the stratum corneum. Though the effectiveness of ceramide is not understood fully, ceramide has become a widely used ingredient in cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. However, ceramide production from Saccharomyces cerevisiae has not been widely studied and the quantity are very low. Gene deletion in the cell is used frequently to investigate the function of gene and verification research of drug target. Specially, deletion mutant library is useful for a large amount functional analysis of gene. In this study, deletion mutants of genes on the metabolic pathway of ceramide synthesis in S. cerevisiae were grown in a batch culture and the cellular content of ceramide was measured. The ceramide content was highest in ${\triangle}$ydc1 mutant and 6 mg ceramide/g cell was obtained.

A Study on the measurement of Electron Energy Distribution Function in Ar plasma measured by the waveforms of Langmuir probe voltages (Langmuir 프로브 전압의 파형에 따른 아르곤 플라즈마의 전자에너지 분포함수 측정에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we have obtained the Electron Energy Distribution Function(EEDF) in plasma by using two differentiators and investigated the EEDFs by sawtooth and triangle waveform voltages with the working pressures and the positions of single probe. It is found that as the working pressure is decreased, the EEDFs approach to theMaxwellian distribution independent of the waveforms of probe voltage. On the otherhand, as the position of probe is moved from the center of the plasma to its edge, the EEDF of sawtooth waveform probe voltage approaches to the Maxwellian distribution, but the EEDF of triangle waveform probe voltage deviates from the Maxwellian distribution.

  • We derive some approximate maximum likelihood estimators(AMLEs) and maximum likelihood estimator(MLE) of the scale parameter in the half-triangle distribution based on progressively Type-II censored samples. We compare the proposed estimators in the sense of the mean squared error for various censored samples. We also obtain the approximate maximum likelihood estimators of the reliability function using the proposed estimators. We compare the proposed estimators in the sense of the mean squared error.

Effect of Penicillin G on the Diuretic Action of Furosemide in Rabbit (Penicillin G 주입이 Furosemide 이뇨작용에 미치는 영향)

  • The influence of penicillin G infusion(7.5 units/min/kg) on the diuretic action of furosemide$(250{\mu}g/kg)$ in rabbits was studied to investigate the drug interaction between penicillin G and furosemide. The results were as follows: 1) There was no significant change in renal function in the penicillin G infused rabbits compared with the normal ratbit. 2) In comparison with the control group, a significant increase in ${\triangle}U_{flow},\;{\triangle}U_{Na}V,\;{\triangle}U-kV\;and{\triangle}U_{cl}V$ was noted by 30 minutes following the administration of furosemide in the penicillin G infused group. There was no significant difference in ${\triangle}C_{In},\;{\triangle}C_{PAH}$ between the two groups and ${\triangle}Na^+$ reabsorption rate was significantly decreased in the latter. The potentiating effect of penicillin G on the diuretic action of furosemide should be due to the increased luminal concentration of free form of furosemide, and it may be related to the competitive inhibition of plasma protein binding between the two drugs.

  • Steady-state sublimation vapour pressures of anhydrous bismuth triiodide have been measured by the torsion-effusion method from 488.8 to 570.5 K and equilibrium sublimation pressures were obtained from the steady-state data. The standard sublimation enthalpy changes derived by both second(modified sigma function) and third(average enthalpy method) law methods were 159.316${\pm}$0.055, 137.67${\pm}$1.43 kJ$.$mol-1 respectively. The standard sublmation entropy change derived by modified sigma function was 232.88${\pm}$0.10 J$.$K-1$.$mol-1. The reliable standard sublimation enthalpy change based on a correlation of {{{{ { TRIANGLE }`_{cr } ^{g } }} H{{{{ { 0} atop {m } }}(298.15K) and {{{{ { TRIANGLE }`_{cr } ^{g } }} S{{{{ { 0} atop {m } }}(298.15K), a recommended p(T) equation has been obtained for BiI3(cr) ; lg(p/Pa)=-(C$.$K/T)+5.071lg(T/K)-2.838${\times}$10-3(T/K)-7.758${\times}$103(K/T)2+1.4519 where C={{{{{ { TRIANGLE }`_{cr } ^{g } }} H{{{{ { 0} atop {m } }}(298.15K)/0.019146 kJ$.$mol-1}-456.27.

Let $R(\mu)\;and\;R_0(\mu)$ be the union sets of $\{$\mid$\psiv$\mid$\;<\;1\}\;and\;\{$\mid${\psi}_{\nu}$\mid$\;<\;0\}\;in\;M\;{\setminus}\;{\triangle},\;{\nu}\;\in\;{L_{+}}^1(\mu)$, respectively.   • This paper describes a probabilistic remaining life assessment program for the creep crack growth. The probabilistic life assessment program is developed to increase the reliability of life assessment. The probabilistic life assessment involves some uncertainties, such as, initial crack size, material properties, and loading condition, and a triangle distribution function is used for random variable generation. The resulting information provides the engineer with an assessment of the probability of structural failure as a function of operating time given the uncertainties in the input data. This study forms basis of the probabilistic life assessment technique and will be extended to other damage mechanisms.
