  • In general, the national rail system put an emphasis on distribution planing of stations for smooth operation of transporting goods, train allocation, parking, and maintenance. Since the national rail system is operated on the ground level, it is feasible to improve various aspects of the system during its operation. On the contrary, urban rail system is operated in the limited space under the ground, and thus, improving various aspects of the system during its operation is infeasible. Specifically, the urban subway system must have a comprehensive track distribution plan because the urban subway system has to operate in a limited environment such as it operates in a much shorter time period, The subway system has to be ready for various operations and events such as trains returning in the opposite direction. parking trains that need repair, parking during night time, storing various maintenance equipments, and connections to other tracks. Furthermore, considering the future extension of tracks, a comprehensive track distribution plan is a must.

  • In this paper, we propose a web GPS based logistics vehicle control management system using MVC design patterns. The proposed system is designed by applying design patterns of object oriented modeling called mini-architecture to enhance reliability of software as well as promote stability of overall system design. In addition, we can get a position information by means of the GPS embedded in PDA and communicate between client and monitoring server using CDMA network so that the position of client can be identified directly by the map service. The system provides an moving object indexing technique which extends the existing TB-tree to manage and retrieve a transporting trajectory of logistics efficiently. Finally, with development of the logistics vehicle control service called WG-LOGICS system, we can verify the usefulness of our system which is able for monitoring a vehicle preparation, allocating registration, loading a burden, transfer path, and destination arrival in real world.

  • In the semiconductor and the optical industry a new transport system which can replace the common system is required. The common systems are driven by magnetic field and conveyer belt. The magnetic field damages semiconductor and contact force scratches, the optical lens. The ultrasonic wave driven system solve these problem. In this paper the object transport system using the excitation of ultrasonic wave is proposed. the experiments for finding the optimal excitation frequency, finding phase-difference between two ultrasonic wave generators are performed. The effect of transporting speed according to the change of amplification voltage is verified. In addition, the system performance for actual use is evaluated

  • Factory-style plant production system aims to produce the standardized horticultural products with high quality and cleanness. In Korea, researches for year-round leaf vegetables production system are in progress and the most of them are focused on environment control. Automating technologies for harvesting, transporting and grading need to be developed. A lettuce harvesting system applicable to the plant factory was studied. It was composed of an articulated robot with a cutter and a gripper, lettuce feeding conveyor and air blower. Success rate of the developed system was 94.7 %. The system carried out harvesting a lettuce smoothly and the harvesting time was about 6 seconds per lettuce. The results showed a feasibility of robotic lettuce harvesting.

  • This on-board signaling system has been designed with a priority on safety. The system has been devised for both safety, and also the efficiency of train operation. The Importance of signaling system is gradually being recognized with the continuous rise of operating speed and transporting density. Until now, the adaptation of signaling system was totally dependent on foreign signaling companies, as it was difficult to be accessed by domestic technology. But, successful commercial operation of the ATC/ATO system, which is adopted in the development of Kwangju Line No.1, heralds the use of domestic technology, which will be the basis of all future domestic signaling systems.

  • In Korea, researches for year-round leaf vegetables production system are in progress and the most of them are focused on environment control. Automation technologies for harvesting , transporting and grading need to be developed. This study was conducted to develop harvesting process automation system profitable to a competitive price. 1. Manipulator and end-effector are to be designed and fabricated , and fuzzy logic controller for controlling these are to be composed. 2. The entire system constructed is to be evaluated through a performance test. A robot system for harvesting a lettuce was developed. It was composed of a manipulator with 20DOF (degrees of freedom) an end-effector, a lettuce feeding conveyor , an air blower , a machine vision device, 6 photoelectric sensors and a fuzzy logic controller. A fuzzy logic control was applied to determined appropriate grip force on lettuce. Leaf area index and height index were used as input parameters, and voltage was used as output parameter for the fuzzy logic controller . Success rate of the lettuce harvesting system was 93.06% , and average harvesting time was about 5 seconds per lettuce.
