A B-ISDN network based on ATM must support several kinds of transport services with different traffic characteristics and service requirements. There is neither link-by-link flow control nor error control in the ATM layer. For different services, different flow/error controls could be performed at the AAL layer or at a higher Iayer(e.g. transport layer). In traditional data networks, the window now control mechanism combined with error control was used prevalently. But, the window flow control mechanism might be useless in ATM networks because the propagation delay is too large compared with the transmission rate. In this paper, we propose a simple flow control mechanism, called RCT(Rate Control for end-to-end Transport), for end-to-end data transport. The RCT shows acceptable performance when the average overload period is bounded by a certain time.

In the present study, disc-type LSCF/GDC (20 : 80 vol%) dual-phase membranes having porous LSC/GDC (50 : 50 vol%) active layers were prepared and effect of active layers on oxygen ion transport behavior was investigated. Introduction of active layers improved drastically oxygen flux due to enhanced electron conductivity and oxygen surface exchange activity. As firing temperature of active layer increased from $900^{\circ}C$ to $1000^{\circ}C$, oxygen flux increased due to improved contact between membrane and active layer or between grains of active layer. The enhanced contact would improve oxygen ion and electron transports from active layer to membrane. Also, as thickness of active layer increased from 10 to $20{\mu}m$, oxygen flux decreased since thick active layer rather prevented oxygen molecules diffusing through the pores. And, STF infiltration improved oxygen flux due to enhanced oxygen reduction reaction rate. The experimental data announces that coating and property control of active layer is an effective method to improve oxygen flux of dual-phase oxygen transport membrane.

The current paper describes a simpler ground-type, single-plate electrowetting configuration for droplet transport in digital microfluidics without performance degradation. The simplified fabrication process is achieved with two photolithography steps. The first step simultaneously patterns both a control electrode array and a reference electrode on a substrate. The second step patterns a dielectric layer at the top to expose the reference electrode for grounding the liquid droplet. In the experiment, a $5{\mu}m$ thick photo-imageable polyimide, with a 3.3 dielectric constant, is used as the dielectric layer. A 10 nm Teflon-AF is coated to obtain a hydrophobic surface with a high water advancing angle of $116^{\circ}$ and a small contact angle hysteresis of $5^{\circ}$. The droplet movement of 1 mM methylene blue on this simplified device is successfully demonstrated at control voltages above the required 45 V to overcome the contact angle hysteresis.
Halide perovskites are promising photovoltaic materials due to their excellent optoelectronic properties like high absorption coefficient, low exciton binding energy and long diffusion length, and single-junction solar cells consisting of them have shown a high certified efficiency of 25.2%. Despite of high efficiency, perovskite photovoltaics show poor stability under actual operational condition, which is the mostly critical obstacle for commercialization. Given that the stability of the perovskite devices is significantly affected by charge-transporting layers, the use of inorganic charge-transporting layers with better intrinsic stability than the organic counterparts must be beneficial to the enhanced device reliability. In this review article, we summarized a number of studies on the inorganic charge-transporting layers of the perovskite solar cells, especially focusing on their effects on the enhanced device reliability.

Baroclinic hydraulic model experiments on the time-varying states of the flow pattern and water exchange in Sagami Bay were carried out based on quasi-steady state experiments on the flow pattern. For the model experiments, density changes as well as time changes in the volume transport of the upper layer were executed to investigate the flow response of the bay in the case of a sudden inflow of low density water and variable volume transport into the Sagami Bay. The results of the model experiments showed that when the volume transport was increased frontal eddies or frontal wave streamers from the Kuroshio Through Flow were transferred to the inner part of the bay along with cyclonic circulation in the bay. In addition, density boundary currents appeared and flowed along the eastern boundary of the bay. As the upper layer density decreased, frontal eddies, frontal streamers and coastal boundary density currents occurred and proceeded along the eastern boundary of the bay at a high speed.

Highly efficient organic electroluminescent devices (OLEDs) based on 4,7- diphenyl-1, 10- phenanthroline (BPhen) as the electron transport layer (ETL), tris (8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum ($Alq_3$) as the emission layer (EML) and N,$\acute{N}$-bis-[1-naphthy(-N,$\acute{N}$diphenyl-1,1´-biphenyl-4,4´-diamine)] (NPB) as the hole transport layer (HTL) were developed. The typical device structure was glass substrate/ ITO/ NPB/$Alq_3$/ BPhen/ LiF/ Al. Since BPhen possesses a considerable high electron mobility of $5\;{\times}\;10^{-4}\;cm^2\;V^{-1}\;s^{-1}$, devices with BPhen as ETL can realize an extremely high luminous efficiency. By optimizing the thickness of both HTL and ETL, we obtained a highly efficient OLED with a current efficiency of 6.80 cd/A and luminance of $1361\;cd/m^2$ at a current density of $20\;mA/cm^2$. This dramatic improvement in the current efficiency has been explained on the principle of charge balance.

This paper reports on thermally adjusted graphene oxide (GO) as the hole transport layer (HTL) for organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). GO is generally not suitable for HTL of OLEDs because of intrinsic specific resistance. In this paper, the specific resistance of GO is adjusted by the thermal annealing process. The optimum specific resistance of HTL is found to be $10^2{\Omega}{\cdot}m$, and is defined by the maximum current efficiency of OLEDs, 2 cd/A. In addition, the reasons for specific resistance change are identified by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). First, the XPS results show that several functional groups of GO were detached by thermal energy, and the amount of epoxide changed substantially following the temperature. Second, the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the C-C bond decreased during the process. That means the crystallinity of the graphene improved, which is the scientific basis for the change in specific resistance.

Due to their better photosensitivity in X-ray, the amorphous selenium based photoreceptor is widely used on the X-ray conversion materials. It was possible to control the charge carrier transport of amorphous selenium by suitably alloying a-Se with other elements(e.g. As, Cl). The charge transport properties of amorphous Selenium is decided on hole which is induced from metal to selenium in metal-selenium junction and which is transferred in a-Se bulk. This phenomenon is resulted of changing electric field owing to increasing of space charge by deep trap of a-Se bulk. In this paper, We dopped the chlorine to compensate deep hole trap and deposited blocking layer using dielectric material to prevent from increasing space charge for injection charge between metal electrode and a-Se layer. We compared space charge and the decreasing of trap density through measuring dark and photo current. 缀 Ѐ㘰〻ሀ䝥湥牡氠瑥捨湯汯杹
Real-time multimedia streaming over the Internet is rapidly increasing with the popularity of user-created contents, Web 2.0 trends, and P2P (peer-to-peer) delivery support. While many homes today are broadband-enabled, the quality of experience (QoE) of a user is still limited due to frequent interruption of media playout. The vulnerability of TCP (transmission control protocol), the popular transport-layer protocol for streaming in practice, to the packet losses, retransmissions, and timeouts makes it hard to deliver a timely and persistent flow of packets for online multimedia contents. This paper presents TCP-real-time online multimedia environment (ROME), a novel transport-layer framework that allows the establishment and coordination of multiple many-to-one TCP connections. Between one client with multiple home addresses and multiple co-located or distributed servers, TCP-ROME increases the total throughput by aggregating the resources of multiple TCP connections. It also overcomes the bandwidth fluctuations of network bottlenecks by dynamically coordinating the streams of contents from multiple servers and by adapting the streaming rate of all connections to match the bandwidth requirement of the target video.

Graphene, the building block of graphite, is one of the most promising materials due to their fascinating electronic transport properties. The pseudo-two-dimensional sp2 bonding in graphene layers yields one of the most effective solid lubricants. In this poster, we present the correlation between electrical and nanomechanical properties of graphene layer grown on Cu/Ni substrate with CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) method. The electrical (current and conductance) and nanomechanical (adhesion and friction) properties have been investigated by the combined apparatus of friction force microscopy/conductive probe atomic force microscopy (AFM). The experiment was carried out in a RHK AFM operating in ultrahigh vacuum using cantilevers with a conductive TiN coating. The current was measured as a function of the applied load between the AFM tip and the graphene layer. The contact area has been obtained with the continuum mechanical models. We will discuss the influence of mechanical deformation on the electrical transport mechanism on graphene layers.
