  • The transport a administration in Korea is meeting demands of developing international multimodal transport system. In the past, as Korea transport policy has been emphasizing on the passenger traffic, the physical distribution sector is far behind international trend. Regarding the urging necessities of reducting costs in transport in order to upgrade the competitive edge of industries, Korea has to develop the most efficient transport system so called international multimodal transport system. The existing transport system is inefficient because each transport mode is separate, so this system is aiming at reducing cost and time and developing freight transport. The scope and scheme of this thesis should be as following. Chapter 2. Systems Approach of International multimodal transport 1. general systems theory 2. definition of International multimodal transport system 3. MTO (multimodal transport operator) Chapter 3. • The aim of the current study was to evaluate the transport system in EMT-6 cell for the uptake of the methylmercury(MeHg). Several inhibitors ere used to test used to test which potential transport system might be involoved in MeHg uptake. Probenecid was used to test the organic transport system, valinomycin for testing the effect of the membrane potential, cytochalasin B for testing the facilitated diffusive D-glucose transport system and colchicine for testing the microtubule system. Ouabain for evaluating active transport system, 4',4-diisothiocyano-2',2-stilbenedisulfonic acid(DIDS) the Cl- ion transport system and verapamil for the $Ca^{2+}$ transprot system. Significantly, MeHg decreased the synthesis of nitric oxcide(NO) and intracellular ATP in ENT-6 cells. In the condition of ouabain containing with MeHg decreased the production of NO and intracelluar ATP. In the treatment of inhibitors, ouabain showed protective effect against cytotoxicity of MeHg but ather inhibitors not showed protective effects. The protective effects of ouabain against the cytotoxicity of MeHg deoended on the concentration of added ouabain to the culture medium for MET-6 cells. These result showed that the uptake of MeHg might be involved in the active transport system. Active transports system seems to share similarities with the transport systems for the uptake of MeHg when using MeHg and MeHg-glutathione complex.x.

  • In light of the growing traffic congestion problem and congestion cost, the container transport by railway has to be increased. The freight transport by railway can have decided advantages over trucks in terms of energy efficiency, emissions and cost for certain freight movements, just as transportation in the metropolitan region can have great advantages over driving truck. But the freight transport by truck should gain significant mobility benefits from a freight railway system. Thus, the DMT(Dual Mode Trailer) transport system which is coupled railway transport advantages with load transport advantages has been developed and used in the european countries. The DMT transport will therefore serve the areas required by transport organizers. The purpose of this paper is to estimate economical feasibility analysis for development of DMT transport system. Consequently, this study analyzed the characteristics of the DMT system. The horizontal load.unload system is being considered as an adoptable DMT system in consideration of the situation in Korea.

  • The present study examines how to construct a transport system for tourism in the marine city area of Yeosu. An effective tourism transport system is needed in Yeosu to promote ocean tourism in Korea's southern coastal region. The problems in Yeosu's transport system for ocean tourism were identified by comparing it with the Bay Area in the United States; future improvement methods were deduced accordingly. The transport support system for ocean tourism in Yeosu area was insufficient in many aspects compared with the Bay Area, such as intercity transportation, urban transport systems, and transport information systems. Thus, this study suggests various approaches to building a new ocean tourism transport support system in Yeosu. Connecting transport modes and ocean tourism resources, such as linking intercity and urban transport modes with ocean tourism transport modes, is suggested. It is also recommended that a cooperative transport support system be established for ocean tourism in the neighboring regions of Yeosu. Furthermore, an integrated transport information system for ocean tourism needs to be provided to connect the system efficiently with ocean tourists. This integrated transport support system could lead to a decrease in the cost and time needed for travel.

  • The baculovirus expression system is a powerful method for producing large amounts of the human erythrocyte-type glucose transport protein, heterologously. Characterization of the expressed protein is expected to show its ability to transport sugars directly. To achieve this, it is a prerequisite to know the properties of the endogenous sugar transport system in Spodoptera frugiperda Clone 21 (Sf21) cells, which are commonly employed as a host permissive cell line to support the baculovirus replication. The Sf21 cells can grow well on TC-100 medium that contains 0.1% D-glucose as the major carbon source, strongly suggesting the presence of endogenous glucose transport system. However, unlike the human glucose transport protein that has a broad substrate and inhibitor specificity, very little is known about the nature of the endogenous sugar transport system in Sf21 cells. In order to characterize further the inhibitor recognition properties of the Sf21 cell transporter, the ability of phloretin, cytochalasin B and D-fructose to inhibit 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2dGlc) transport was examined by measuring inhibition constants $(K_i)$. The $K_i's$ for reversible inhibitors were determined from plots of uptake versus inhibitor concentration. The 2dGlc transport in the Sf21 cells was very potently inhibited by phloretin, the aglucone of phlorizin with a $K_i$ similar to the value of about $2{\mu}M$ reported for inhibition of glucose transport in human erythrocytes. However, the Sf21 cell transport system was found to differ from the human transport protein in being much less sensitive to inhibition by cytochalasin B (apparent $K_i$ approximately $10\;{\mu}M$). In contrast, It is reported that the inhibitor binds the human erythrocyte counterpart with a $K_d$ of approximately $0.12\;{\mu}M$. Interestingly, the Sf21 glucose transport system also appeared to have high affinity for D-fructose with a $K_i$ of approximately 5mM, contrasting the reported $K_m$ of the human erythrocyte transport protein for the ketose of 1.5M.

  • The Korean Government decided to reduce 30% of carbon emissions as of 2020, tightening regulations to reduce greenhouse gas in the international society. Therefore it will burden Korean logistics industry that overland trucking freight covers 70~80% of all, to lower emissions. As known, rail and coast(feeder) transport systems can be substituted for road transport but there are many problems to solve in Korean multimodal (intermodal) transport system such as time, cost, etc. Because of this, multimodal transport system should be improved systematically. For the reason, it aims to study a conceptual model with Thinking Process of TOC(theory of constraints) and System Dynamics to help improve the existing multimodal transport system for green logistics.

  • An object transport system is driven by a conveyor belt system or a magnetic levitation system. It is an indispensable device in many fields and especially it is very important in the factory automation. However, the conventional transport system can damage precision optical components by the contact force and destroy the inner structure of semiconductor by the magnetic field. The new transport system for transporting without damage is required. The ultrasonic transport system is a device that transports objects on the elastic body using ultrasonic wave. In this paper, an object transport system using the ultrasonic wave is developed for transporting precision elements without damage. Traveling waves are generated by the ultrasonic wave generator fixed in both ends of the beam. The traveling wave of the ultrasonic transport system is theoretically analyzed. Transport direction of the object is examined according to phase difference and frequency. The theoretical results are verified by experiments.

  • In this paper, we propose RTP(Real-Time Transport Protocol) based image transport system to transport still images in real-time after JPEG2000 compression, which is still image compression standard for next generation. To add RTP packet on UDP packet, the image transport system inserts packetizer and depacketizer process into transmitter and receiver of RTP data, respectively. We apply the proposed system to several image and compare the transport time to TCP-based method.
