To minimize the train operation interruptions and train exchanges, the RF transmission system is proposed. The current control room of the Seoul Metro has information of the train movement through the Total Traffic Control System, but it does not have information of the train itself, rail status, and other facilities' status. When some trouble occurs during train operation, the train crews should report the control room about the trouble and fix it. If the control room has exact information of the trouble, the expert in the control room can help the crews to fix the trouble swiftly and exactly. Since the crews are busy taking care of the trouble, they often miss to report the control room on time. The proposed RF transmission system relays the information of the train to the control room automatically in real time, and makes it possible to provide the passengers good service by reducing the train operation interruptions and train exchanges.

This paper presents a way to maximize transmission efficiency and reception ability through transmission diversity technology, which can be adapted to wireless multimedia Wireless LAN system. The presented method is a comparative analysis between a case where parameter a for time average is 0.3.1 with consideration of channel presumption with two types of rms delayed spread, which is 50nsec. 150nsec, for the performance analysis of STTC (Space-Time Trellis Code) adopting time-space ciphering method appropriate for MIMO channel, and performance in the case where presumed channel value from long training column section is applied to according frame in a single frame. The result showed that BER brought SNR improvement of l.0dB in $10^{-3}$ when a was 0.3 than adopting only the long training column, and showed increase of general performance improvement for the sake of time average rather than the case without.

While single-user spatial multiplexing multiple-input multiple-output (SU-MIMO) allows spatially multiplexed data streams to be transmitted to one node at a time, multi-user spatial multiplexing MIMO (MU-MIMO) enables the simultaneous transmission to multiple nodes. However, if the transmission time required to send packets to each node varies considerably, MU-MIMO may fail to utilize the available MIMO capacity to its full potential. The transmission time typically depends upon two factors: the link quality of the selected channel and the data length (packet size). To utilize the cumulative capacity of multiple channels in MIMO applications, the assignment of channels to each node should be controlled according to the measured channel quality or the transmission queue status of the node.A MAC protocol design that can switch between MU-MIMO and multiple SU-MIMO transmissions by considering the channel quality and queue status information prior to the actual data transmission (i.e., by exchanging control packets between transmitter and receiver pairs) could address such issues in a simple but in attractive way. In this study, we propose a new MAC protocol that is capable of performing such switching and thereby improve the system performance of very high throughput WLANs. The detailed performance analysis demonstrates that greater benefits can be obtained using the proposed scheme, as compared to conventional MU-MIMO transmission schemes.
As the real-time multimedia applications through Internet increase, the bandwidth available to TCP connections is oppressed by the UDP traffic, result in the performance of overall system is extremely deteriorated. Therefore, developing a new transmission protocol is necessary. The TCP-friendly algorithm is an example meeting this necessity. The TCP-friendly (TFRC) is an UDP-based protocol that controls the transmission rate based on the available round transmission time (RTT) and the packet loss rate (PLR). In the data transmission processing, transmission rate is determined based on the conditions of the previous transmission period. If the one-step ahead predicted values of the control factors are available, the performance will be improved significantly. This paper proposes a prediction model of transmission rate control factors that will be used for the transmission rate control, which improves the performance of the networks. The model developed through this research is predicting one-step ahead variables of RTT and PLR. A multiplayer perceptron neural network is used as the prediction model and Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm is used for the training. The values of RTT and PLR were collected using TFRC protocol in the real system. The obtained prediction model is validated using new data set and the results show that the obtained model predicts the factors accurately.
A wireless LAN medical information transmission system is useful for patients who need mobility in a local area environment. This paper proposes a method using WLAN(wireless local area network) and implements a stand-alone system with MAC(meidum access control) layer protocol referenced IEEE 802.11 draft standard. The system consists of a 8bit-microprocessor which handles media access control protocol and a WL100(GEC Plessey) chip which takes care of phsical layer specific routines and uses a RF module DE6003(GEC Plessey). The major features of the implemented system are the CSMA/CA protocol used a consecutive DATA-ACK trasmission method which yields more effective bandwidth allocation for asyncronous traffic transmission and the modified PCF protocol for time-bounded traffic transmission, which operates in ad-hoc network topology apart from IEEE 802.11 draft standard confirm PCF mode operate in infrastruture topology.
We consider a priority-based packet-switching system with three phases of the packet transmission time. Each packet belongs to one of several priority classes, and the packets of each class arrive at a switch in a Poison process. The switch transmits queued packets on a priority basis with three phases of preemption mechanism. Namely, the transmission time of each packet consists of a preemptive-repeat part for the header, a preemptive-resume part for the information field, and a nonpreemptive part for the trailer. By an exact analysis of the associated queueing model, we obtain the Laplace-Stieltjes transform of the distribution function for the delay, i.e., the time from arrival to transmission completion, of a packet for each class. We derive a set of equations that calculates the mean response time for each class recursively. Based on this result, we plot the numerical values of the mean response times for several parameter settings. The probability generating function and the mean for the number of packets of each class present in the system at an arbitrary time are also given.
In this paper, we propose an effective wireless transmission technology, under poor wireless transmission channel surroundings caused by speedy flying, that are able to transmit high quality video recording information and surveillance data via accessing to various wireless networking services architecture such as One-on-One, Many-on-One, One-on-Many, Over the Horizon. The Real-Time Position Analysis(RAPA) method is also suggested to provide more meaningful video information of shooting area. The suggested wireless transmission technology and RAPA can make remote control of UAV's flight route to get valuable topography information. Because of the benefit to get both of video information and GPS data of shooting area simultaneously, the result of study can be applied to various application sphere including UAV that requires high speed wireless transmission.
For performing Intelligent Transport System, I will implement the vehicle recognition system used image as well as Real time transmission module with TCP/IP. Generally, there are two kinds for vehicle recognition technology. Between two methods, the image-based method has a high dependency on environmental condition. Therefore, in this thesis I will propose vehicle recognition algorithm based on image using improved Gradient Method. Also I propose server-client modeling with TCP/IP, for the purpose of real time transmission of processed data and images. So I made the vehicle recognition and real time transmission system with TCP/IP for verification of proposed algorithm.
Compared with other transport means, safety and timeliness are the merits of railways. Unexpectedly when accident happens, much time and human strength are required to cope with the accident. And for swift recovery, systematic rehabilitation is needed. Recently using MTS(Moving picture Transmission System), we can perform accident rehabilitation and recording work efficiently. MTS is the device that transmits continuous picture information from accident field to control center. e are developing the appropriate system to railway situation to make use of the existing information communication technology, processing technology of video-tex, super high speed transmission technology through fiber-optic, copper cable and network description of information Technology, etc. If these communication-based can technologies are applied to railway system, railway managers can control the accident by inspecting the picture of accident field and can contribute to the safe train operation and the improvement of railway management. In this paper, we investigate the connecting methods when optical fiber is used for moving picture data transmission of train accidents, and its problems. And, we validate MTS's performance through about 28km section of field test.
Lightning induced faults accounts for more than 66% at the transmission lines of KEPCO. The lightning causes damages to power system equipments including transmission line, the shut down of electricity and the electro-magnetic interference. Because of this reason, we need the real time lightning information for the optimal operation of power system. And, it is required to obtain and accumulate the lightning current parameters for the insulation design. A lightning detection system, LPATS, has been operated since 1995 in KEPCO. For the improved detection efficiency, we had in stalled the new lightning detection network named as KLDNet in 2005. Also, we had developed the new software for the lightning parameters analysis and real time information service on the WEB. In this paper, we would like to introduce about the new system.
