자외선 여기용 청색 및 황색 형광체의 발광특성 (Luminescence Characteristics of Blue and Yellow Phosphor for Near-Ultraviolet)

  • We have synthesized a $Eu^{2+}-activated\;Sr_3MgSi_2O_8$ blue phosphor and $(Sr,Ba)_2SiO_4$ yellow phosphor and prepared white LEDs by combining these phosphors with a InGaN UV LED chip. Three distinct emission bands from the InGaN-based LED and the two phosphors are clearly observed at 405 nm, 460 nm and at around 560 nm, respectively. The 405 nm emission band is due to a radiative recombination from a InGaN active layer. This blue emission was used as an optical transition of the $Sr_3MgSi_2O_8:Eu$ blue phosphor and $(Sr,Ba)_2SiO_4:Eu$ yellow phosphor. The 460 nm and 560 nm emission band is ascribed to a radiative recombination of $Eu^{2+}$ impurity ions in the $Sr_3MgSi_2O_8:Eu$ and $(Sr,Ba)_2SiO_4$ host matrix. As a consequence of a preparation of UV White LED lamp using the $Sr_3MgSi_2O_8:Eu$ blue phosphor and $(Sr,Ba)_2SiO_4:Eu$ yellow phosphor, the highest luminescence efficiency was obtained at the ration of epoxy/two phosphor (1/0.2361). At this time, the CIE chromaticity was CIE x = 0.3140, CIE y = 0.3201 and CCT (6500 K).

주목과 잎갈나무의 나선장(螺旋狀) 구조(構造)에 관한 연구(硏究) (Studies on the Helical Structures of Taxus cuspidata S. et Z. and Larix gmelinii var. principis-ruprechtii Pilger)

  • This study was executed to examine helical structure and other feature, of Taxus cuspidata S. et Z. and Larix gmelinii var. principis-ruprechtii Pilger through photomicroscopic and scanning electron microscopic observation, and the obtained result, were summarized as follows: 1. Tracheid transition from springwood to summerwood was abrupt, mel slightly gradual in Taxus cuspidata S. et Z. and summerwood width of Larix gmelinii var. principis-ruprechtii Pilger was wider than that of Taxus cuspidata S. et Z. 2. Normal vertical and horizontal resin canals and surrounding thick epithelial cells were present in Larix gmelinii var. principis-ruprechtii Pilger but not present in Taxus cuspidata S. et Z. 3. Instead of helical thickening, helical chicks were observed only in summerwood trachieds of Larix gmelinii var. principis-ruprechtii Pilger. However, helical thickenings forming S, Z., and horizontal helix perpendicular to long axis of tracheid were observed in springood and summerwood tracheids of Taxus cuspidata S. et Z. and these helical thickenings were considered as analogous to the innermost layer of secondary wall. 4. Uniseriate and fusiform rays were appeared on tangential surface of Larix gmelinii var. principis-ruprechtii Pilger but oly uniserate ray was observed on tangential surface ot Taxus cuspidata S. et Z. The fusiform rays of Larix gmelinii var. principis-ruprechtii Pilger usually contained one horizontal resin canal bot occasionally two horizontal resin canals were contained in a fusiform ray. 5. Trabeculae and crassulae were observed in the tracheids of Larix gmelimii var. principis-ruprechtii Pilger but not observed in the tracheids of Taxus cuspidata S. et Z.

  • 본 연구에서는 경계층 유동을 충류, 천이, 난류 영역을 포함하는 압축성 유동으로 가정하였고, Morgan 등이 제시한 새로운 질점분할 방법을 사용하여 속도분포를 계산하고, 점성 압축성 효과를 고려하기 위하여 viscous--inviscid interaction 법을 사용하였고 이 계산 결과를 기존의 실험값과 비교하여,타당성을 확인하였다.그리고 최적 양력의 익형 설계는 Augmented Lagrange multiplier 법을 사용하였고 비구속 조건을 갖는 목적함수 augmented lagrangian의 최소화는 Davidan-Fletcher-Powell 방법 중 self-scaling quasi-Newton algorithm을 사용하였다. 그리고 NACA 23012를 기본 익형으로 하고 NACA 64-2-415, NACA 64-2-A215, NACA 65-3-218를 보상 익형으로 하여 최대 양력익형을 설계 하였다.

Membrane을 이용한 박막센서 특성 분석 (The Characteristic Analysis of Thin Film Sensor using The Membrane)

  • 본 연구에서는 자기 공명 특성을 이용한 박막 센서의 멤브레인 및 박막 센서의 특성을 알아보았다. 멤브레인으로 유망한 물질로 $Si_xN_y$과 SiC가 있으며, 최적의 멤브레인 형성 조건을 알고자 박막의 잔류 응력 및 물성을 비교 분석하였다. 그 중에서 박막 센서에 적용 가능한 멤브레인으로 SiC보다 적절한 인장응력과 낮은 열팽창 계수를 가지는 $Si_xN_y$이 센서의 구조층으로 우수하였으며, $Si_xN_y$위에 박막 센서 물질을 증착 및 패턴닝(patterning)을 함으로써 센서의 자기 이력 곡선 및 자기 공진 주파수를 분석하였다. 센서에 인가되는 외부 자기장을 제거하면 자장에 의해 형성된 자화(magnetization)가 탄성 모드로 바뀌면서 에너지 방출에 의해 센서에서 전압이 발생하는데 이때 전압 발생 구간이 길어지면 기계적 진동이 야기되어 신호가 발생한다. 그리고 센서의 길이 및 폭이 증가할수록 자기공명 주파수가 감소하는 것을 볼 수 있다.

The Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition During Tooth Root Development

  • Hertwig's epithelial root sheath (HERS) consists of bi-layered cells derived from the inner and outer dental epithelia and plays important roles in tooth root formation as well as in the maintenance and regeneration of periodontal tissues. With regards to the fate of HERS, and although previous reports have suggested that this entails the formation of epithelial rests of Malassez, apoptosis or an epithelial-mesenchymal transformation (EMT), it is unclear what changes occur in the epithelial cells in this structure. This study examined whether HERS cells undergo EMT using a keratin-14 (K14) cre:ROSA 26 transgenic reporter mouse. The K14 transgene is expressed by many epithelial tissues, including the oral epithelium and the enamel organ. A distinct K14 expression pattern was found in the continuous HERS bi-layer and the epithelial diaphragm were visualized by detecting the ${\beta}$-galactosidase (lacZ) activity in 1 week postnatal mice. The 2 and 4 week old mice showed a fragmented HERS with cell aggregation along the root surface. However, some of the lacZ-positive dissociated cells along the root surface were not positive for pan-cytokeratin. These results suggest that the K14 transgene is a valuable marker of HERS. In addition, the current data suggest that some of the HERS cells may lose their epithelial properties after fragmentation and subsequently undergo EMT.

Al$_2$O$_3$/Al 복합체 제조시 용융 알루미늄의 치환반응에 미치는 금속 마그네슘의 영향 (Effects of Metal Mg on Replacement Reaction of Molten Al for Fabrication of $Al_2$O$_3$//Al Composites)

  • 전융실리카 분말로 소결하여 만든 sihca preform을 마그네슘이 함유된 용융 알루미늄에 침적시킨후 공기중에서 반응시켜 Al2O3/Al 복합체를 제조하였다. 복합체 제조시 반응온도의 변화에 대해 용융 알루미늄의 침투거동을 조사한 결과 3가지 영역, 즉 저온영역(75$0^{\circ}C$-85$0^{\circ}C$), 중온영역(90$0^{\circ}C$-95$0^{\circ}C$), 고온영역(100$0^{\circ}C$$\leq$)으로 구분되었다. 저온영역에서는 반응온도에 비례해서 침투속도가 증가하였으나, 중간온도 영역은 치환반응에 의해 생성된 알루미나의 상전이에 따른 영향으로 저온영역인 85$0^{\circ}C$에서보다 오히려 침투속도가 감소하였다. 고온영역중 100$0^{\circ}C$이상에서 침투가 일어나지 않는 것은 용융 알루미늄중의 마그네슘이 먼저 실리카와 반응하여 silica preform의 표면에 치밀한 스피넬층을 형성하기 때문으로 판명되었다.

  • In bio applications, high temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) at $30^{\circ}C{\sim}40^{\circ}C$ is especially important for a temperature sensor. In this work, single phase-vanadium dioxide ($VO_2$) thin films for temperature sensor were fabricated by reactive DC magnetron sputtering and post-annealing method. VOx thin films deposited by reactive sputtering in a controlled $Ar/O_2$ atmosphere can be transformed into single phase-$VO_2$ films by post-annealing in $N_2$ atmosphere. The grown $VO_2$ thin films have a moderate resistance at room temperature and very high TCR at room temperature and transition temperature, respectively 2.88%/K and 15.8%/K. A detailed structural characterization is performed by SEM, XRD and RBS. SEM morphology image indicates that grains of fabricated $VO_2$films are homogeneous and ball-like in shape. A fact that the films contain only single phase-$VO_2$ is obtained by XRD and RBS analysis. After deposition, the sensors were fabricated by micromachining technology. Silicon nitride membrane and black nickel were used for a thermal isolation structure and absorption layer. In the vicinity of room temperature, the TCR of sensors was enough high to apply for bio sensors.

항공기용 가스터빈의 고압 냉각터빈 노즐에 대한 복합열전달 해석 (Conjugate Heat Transfer Analysis for High Pressure Cooled Turbine Vane in Aircraft Gas Turbine)

  • Conjugate heat transfer analysis was performed to investigate the flow and cooling performance of the high pressure turbine nozzle of gas turbine engine. The CHT code was verified by comparison between CFD results and experimental results of C3X vane. The combination of k-${\omega}$ based SST turbulence model and transition model was used to solve the flow and thermal field of the fluid zone and the material property of CMSX-4 was applied to the solid zone. The turbine nozzle has two internal cooling channels and each channel has a complex cooling configurations, such as the film cooling, jet impingement, pedestal and rib turbulator. The parabolic temperature profile was given to the inlet condition of the nozzle to simulate the combustor exit condition. The flow characteristics were analyzed by comparing with uncooled nozzle vane. The Mach number around the vane increased due to the increase of coolant mass flow flowed in the main flow passage. The maximum cooling effectiveness (91 %) at the vane surface is located in the middle of pressure side which is effected by the film cooling and the rib turbulrator. The region of the minimum cooling effectiveness (44.8 %) was positioned at the leading edge. And the results show that the TBC layer increases the average cooling effectiveness up to 18 %.

초소형 60 GHz LTCC 전력 증폭기 모듈 (A Very Compact 60 GHz LTCC Power Amplifier Module)

  • 본 논문에서는 저온 소성 세라믹(LTCC)에 기초한 SiP 기술을 이용하여 60 GHz 무선 통신을 위한 송신기용 초소형 전력 증폭기 LTCC모듈을 설계 및 제작하여 그 특성을 측정하였다. 60 GHz대역에서 LTCC 다층 기판과 전력 증폭기 MMIC의 상호 연결 손실을 줄이기 위해 와이어 본드와 기판 사이의 천이를 최적화하였고, MMIC 집적을 위한 고 격리 구조를 제안하였다. 와이어 본드 천이의 경우, 와이어의 인덕턴스를 감소시키기 위해 매칭 회로의 설계와 와이어 상호간의 간격을 최적화하였다. 또한 상호 연결 불연속 효과로 인한 전계의 방사를 억제하기 위해 코프라나 와이어 본드 구조를 이용하였다. 고 격리 모듈 구조를 위하여, LTCC 기판 내부에 DC 전원 배선을 내장시키고 비아로 그 주위를 차폐를 시켰다. 5층의 LTCC 기판을 사용하여 제작된 전력 증폭기 LTCC모듈의 크기는 $4.6{\times}4.9{\times}0.5mm^3$이고, $60{\sim}65GHz$ 대역에서 이득과 P1dB 출력 전력은 각각 10 dB와 11 dBm이다.

구형 SiO2@Y2O3: Eu 코어-쉘 복합체 형광체 합성 및 특성 (Synthesis and Characterization of Spherical SiO2@Y2O3 : Eu Core-Shell Composite Phosphors)

  • The monodisperse spherical $SiO_2$ particles were overcoated with $Y_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$ phosphor layers via a Pechini sol-gel process and the resulting $SiO_2@Y_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$ core-shell phosphors were subsequently annealed at $800^{\circ}C$ at an ambient atmosphere. The crystallographic structure, morphology, and luminescent property of core-shell structured $SiO_2@Y_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$ phosphors were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), and photoluminescence (PL). The spherical, nonagglomerated $SiO_2$ particles prepared by a Stober method exhibited a relatively narrow size distribution in the range of 260-300 nm. The thickness of phosphor shell layer in the core-shell particles can be facilely controlled by varying the coating number of $Y_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$ phosphors. The core-shell structured $SiO_2@Y_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$ phosphors showed a strong red emission, which was dominated by the $^5D_0-^7F_2$ transition (610 nm) of $Eu^{3+}$ ion under the ultraviolet excitation (263 nm). The PL emission properties of $SiO_2@Y_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$ phosphors were also compared with pure $Y_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$ nanophosphors.
