A Study on Application of ECO Driving Pattern of Electric Multiple Unit in ATO System (Focus on Simulation Results) (ATO 시스템 전동차의 ECO 운행패턴 적용에 관한 연구 (시뮬레이션 결과를 중심으로))

  • This study focuses on finding ECO driving patterns which consider driving safety of the ATO system train and reliability and which optimize efficiency of the driving energy consumption. Research results derived by performing simulation of those 5 models show that the emergency braking which affects safety of passenger and the machinery is minimized, and safe driving speed is maintained by the prohibition of drastic acceleration/deceleration, coasting and constant-speed driving. Therefore if this result is applied to the urban railway train by amending or making ATO program to save energy usage that improve environmental quality, its effects as ECO driving pattern is huge.

  • This paper suggests some strategies for the regional regeneration of Baegun Railway station and surrounding area. One is the reduction of the regional unbalance in those divided into two parts, the other is multi-dimentional plan through the efficient land-use on the side area of railway. For these regional regeneration, providing integrated transit system for the passenger's convenience, connecting existing green axis and creating green zone covering the railway, modifying and improvement of residential environment are suggested.

  • Recently Following changes in the airport industry, this study aims to investigate the relationship between physical servicescape elements, a travelers' enjoyment and/or anxiety, and traveler satisfaction in the airport environment context. Six airport service scape factorsd design, scent, functional organization, air/lighting conditions, seating, and cleanlinessd should be considered when evaluating traveler response. airport design features and pleasant scent have a positive influence on traveler enjoyment, generating satisfaction. This study also provides valuable implications for airport design, organization and development. By combining previous research on servicescapes and airport design, this study confirms the significance of servicescape attributes in transit service settings in Inchon international airport. The results of this study may help airport industry practitioners understand the airport environment from a passenger's perspective.

  • Nowadays, the vehicle structure weight of urban transit system has been reduced in order to save energy and materials. However, this light weighted vehicle structure is very important to verify the fatigue strength at the development stage. Bogie system consists of bogie frame, suspensions, wheel-sets, braking system and transmission system. Among these components, the bogie frame is most significant component subjected to the whole vehicle and passenger loads. In this study, the bogie frame for the standard EMU power car is evaluated to the static and fatigue strength. And, the evaluation method is used the JIS E4207 specification throughout the FEM analysis and static load test. The static and fatigue test results for the standard EMU bogie frame of power car has been appeared very safety and stable for the design load conditions.

  • This paper suggests some strategies for the regional regeneration of Dongincheon Railway station and surrounding area. One is the reduction of the regional unbalance in those divided into two parts, the other is multi-dimentional plan through the efficient land-use on the side area of railway. For these regional refurbishment Plan, organizing the integrated transit system for the passenger's convenience, connecting existing commercial area and existing northen station square, modernization and improvement of environment are suggested.

  • The objective of this project is to get the qualification for participation in any procurement conducted by NYCT by proving Hyundai-Rotem's capability of truck development according to NYCT Pre-Qualification program. The scope of the PQ program is to develop the new fabricated truck from NYCT's old-fashioned casting truck and to operate the new fabricated truck in normal NYCT passenger service during 1 year. In this paper, the characteristics of the new fabricated truck in terms of design, manufacture and tests criteria are mainly introduced comparing with the domestic and European-style trucks.

  • This study analyzed changes of train operation between Seoul~Cheonan after the introduction of new electrified rail in 2005. As expected number of passengers were reduced at specific service section and several railroad stations which were served by the Mugunghwa. Also, the statistic shows that passenter demand concentrated in a specific time, so train service frequency and level of service need to be modified to meet with changed demand pattern. The purpose of this paper is to identify critical demand pattern, especially, in several section of the railroad system. This studies provide a railroad transportation system that is significantly more efficient, with far greater capacity, by providing solutions to the problems of congestion impact.

  • It is necessary to induce for using mass transit instead of passenger car, which is high occupied roadway. It is necessary to develop the automated enforcement system to do manage such things. There are lots of problems to enforce the exclusive roadway. One of the biggest problem is the difficulty of vehicle classification. In this paper, morphological vehicle classification algorithm is proposed. Vehicle object is separated from background using frame difference, then the proposed unique weighted skeleton feature is extracted. The experiments show that the vehicle identification results produced by weighted skeleton feature seem to be good quality.
