The objective of this study is to develope a computer simulation model and estimate theoretically the transient performance characteristics of heat exchangers in an automotive air-conditioning system. To do that, the mathematical modelling of heat exchangers, such as evaporator and condenser, is presented first of all. For detail calculation, evaporator and condenser are divided into many sub-sections. Each sub-section is an elemental volume for transient modelling. The elemental volume is assumed to consist of three components, refrigerant, tube with fin, and air, and various properties including temperatures of three components are determined step along sub-sections. The properties of refrigerant R134a and air are calculated directly in the program. The heat transfer coefficients and pressure drop in single or two phase are also calculated by suitable empirical correlations. The overall tendencies of the simulation results were agreed well with those of actual situation.

The cool-down performance after soaking is very important in an automotive air-conditioning system and is considered as a key design variable. Therefore, transient characteristics of each system component are essential to the preliminary design as well as steady-state performance. The objective of this study is to develop a computer simulation model and ostinato theoretically the transient performance of an automotive air-conditioning system. To do that, the mathematical modelling of each component, such as compressor, condenser, receiver/drier, expansion valve, and evaporator, is presented first of all. The basic balance equations about mass and energy are used in modelling. For detailed calculation, condenser and evaporator are divided into many sub-sections. Each sub-section is an elemental volume for modelling. In models of expansion valve and compressor, dynamic behaviors are not considered in this analysis, but the quasisteady state ones are just considered, such as the relation between mass flow rate and pressure drop in expansion device, polytropic process in compressor, etc. Also it is assumed that there are no heat loss and no pressure drop in discharge, liquid, and suction lines. The developed simulation model is validated by comparing with the laboratory test data of an automotive air-conditioning system. The overall time-tracing properties of each component agreed well with those of test data in this case.
The response of concrete structures subjected to shock and blast load involves a rapid transient phase, during which material breach may take place. Such an effect could play a crucial role in determining the residual state of the structure and the possible dispersion of the fragments. Modelling of the transient phase response poses various challenges due to the complexities arising from the dynamic behaviour of the materials and the numerical difficulties associated with the evolving material discontinuity and large deformations. Typical modelling approaches include the traditional finite element method in conjunction with an element removal scheme, various meshfree methods such as the SPH, and the mesoscale model. This paper is intended to provide an overview of several alternative approaches and discuss their respective applicability. Representative concrete material models for high pressure and high rate applications are also commented. Several recent application studies are introduced to illustrate the pros and cons of different modelling options.

In this paper, an infinite impulse response locally recurrent neural network (IIR-LRNN) is employed for modelling the dynamics of the Lead Bismuth Eutectic eXperimental Accelerator Driven System (LBE-XADS). The network is trained by recursive back-propagation (RBP) and its ability in estimating transients is tested under various conditions. The results demonstrate the robustness of the locally recurrent scheme in the reconstruction of complex nonlinear dynamic relationships.

The dynamic equation is built by the mathematical modelling. The modelling is composed of various components used for the automatic transmission of tracked vehicles. When the transmission is shifting, the shock occurs in the drivetrain. The transient torques affect the durability and reliability of the vehicle. The factor and design point are analyzed for the transmission.

Mathematical modelling for liquid rocket engine(LRE) main components were conducted to predict the dynamic characteristics when the LRE operates at the transient condition, which include engine start up, shut down, or thrust control. Propellant feeding system is composed of fuel and oxidizer feeding components except for regenerative cooling channel for the fuel circuit. Components modeling of pump, pipe, orifice, control valve, regenerative cooling channel and injector was serially made. Hydraulic tests of scale down component were made in order to validate modelling components. The mathematical models of engine components were integrated into LRE transient simulation program in concomitant with experimental validation.
In electromagnetic transient analysis studies, complex transmission system should be modelled in detail. But in large system, modelling of complete system is a big burden in many sides such as computation time, modelling efforts. It is needed to model only a concerned part of the system in detail. The remaining parts of the system have to be reduced to equivalents. This study suggests a method of generating a simple network equivalents which has equivalent frequency charastics in wide frequency range.

In this study, the transient impact structural stress analysis of tracked vehicle structures under recoil impact load is investigated. ANSYS, ABAQUS Code are used for modelling and analytical procedures. The highest maximum Tresca stress occurs on race ring portion and its stress level is (.sigma.$_{T}$)$_{max}$ =20-40kgf/m $m^{2}$. The second highest stress occurs on upper plate of chassis and down plate of turret. The maximum stress level increases with loading direction and elevation angle. The results from liner static load analysis are very much different with impact analysis. Therefore, the practical solutions of structures under impact load can be obtained by only nonlinear transient impact analysis. The impact stress analysis of the steel vehicle structures is conducted. The maximum stress level is less than (.sigma.$_T/)$_{max}$m $m^{2}$. So, the design concept of steel structures can be adapted for new alternatives.s.s.s..s.
Several extensions to the Thelandersson phenomenological model for concrete under transient high temperatures are explored. These include novel expressions for the temperature degradation of the elastic modulus and the temperature dependency of the coefficient of the free thermal strain. Furthermore, a coefficient of thermo mechanical strain is proposed as a bi-linear function of temperature. Good qualitative agreement with various test results taken from the literature is demonstrated. Further extensions include the effects of plastic straining and temperature dependent Poisson's ratio. The models performance is illustrated on several simple benchmark problems under uniaxial and biaxial stress states.
