Wean modal parameter estiimation technique by developing a residual based system reconstruction and using the system matrix coordinate transformation. The modal parameters can be estimated from and residues of the system transfer functions expressed in modal coordinate basis, derived from the state space system matrices. However, for modal parameter estimation of mllltivariable and order structural systems over broad frequency bands, this non-iterative algorithm gives high accuracy in the natural fre and damping ratios. From vibration tests on cross-ply and angle-ply composite laminates, the natural frequencies and damping ratios can be estimated using the coordinates of the structural system reconstructed from the experimental frequency response. These results are compared with those of finite element analysis and single-degree-of-freedom curve-fitting..
Metaverse is expected to bring many innovations to society, culture, and economy by providing realistic services in various fields while suppressing time and space constraints. However, unclear definitions owing to the high diversity of the metaverse add to the confusion of the ecosystem participants. The current metaverse service has many voices of concern owing to technical limitations and lack of a clear profit model. Nevertheless, given its high growth potential driven by the digital transformation, a solid and long-term technology development strategy seems to be necessary. Accordingly, we analyze development cases centering on the major metaverse service shapes presented in the Metaverse New Industry Leading Strategy announced by the Ministry of Science and ICT in January 2022. In addition, we study the characteristics and core technologies of each metaverse service for its realization and discuss future stages of technological development.
Electromagnetic (EM) methods are generally divided into frequency-domain EM (FDEM) and time-domain EM (TDEM) methods, depending on the source waveform. The FDEM and TDEM fields are mathematically related by the Fourier transformation, and the TDEM field can thus be obtained as the Fourier transformation of FDEM data. For modeling in time-domain, we can use fast frequency-domain modeling codes and then convert the results to the time domain with a suitable numerical method. Thus, frequency-to-time transformations are of interest to EM methods, which is generally attained through fast Fourier transform. However, faster frequency-to-time transformation is required for the 3D inversion of TDEM data or for the processing of vast air-borne TDEM data. The diffusion expansion method (DEM) is one of smart frequency-to-time transformation methods. In DEM, the EM field is expanded into a sequence of diffusion functions with a known frequency dependence, but with unknown diffusion-times that must be chosen based on the data to be transformed. Especially, accuracy of DEM is sensitive to the diffusion-time. In this study, we developed a method to determine the optimum range of diffusion-time values, minimizing the RMS error of the frequency-domain data approximated by the diffusion expansion. We confirmed that this method produces accurate results over a wider time range for a homogeneous half-space and two-layered model.

A simple but accurate mathematical model is crucial for dynamic simulations and controller design of helical coil once-through steam generator (OTSG). This paper presents a three-region movable boundary dynamic model of the helical coil OTSG. Based on the secondary side fluid conditions, the OTSG is divided into subcooled region (two control volumes), two-phase region (two control volumes) and superheated region (three control volumes) with movable boiling boundaries between each region. The nonlinear dynamic model is derived based on mass, energy and momentum conservation equations. And the linear model is obtained by using the transfer function and state space transformation, which is a 37-order model of five input and three output. Validations are made under full-power steady-state condition and four transient conditions. Results show good agreements among the nonlinear model, linear model and the RELAP5 model, with acceptable errors. This model can be applied to dynamic simulations and controller design of helical coil OTSG with constant primary-side flow rate.
Shear-Warp volume rendering has many advantages such as good image Quality and fast rendering speed. However in the interactive classification environment it has low efficiency of memory access since preprocessed classification is unavailable. In this paper we present an algorithm using the spacial locality of memory access in the interactive classification environment. We propose an extension model appending a rotation matrix to the factorization of viewing transformation, it thus performs a scanline-based rendering in the object and image space. We also show causes and solutions of three problems of the proposed algorithm such as inaccurate front-to-back composition, existence of hole, increasing computational cost. This model is efficient due to the spacial locality of memory access.

Optimal supersonic diffuser shape of integrated rocket ramjet engine was derived which maximizes the total pressure recovery. Mass flux is considered as a design constraint and the second oblique shock angle of the external ramp, the cowl-lip angle and the throat area are selected as design variables. Refined response surface method through design space transformation technique was developed and employed, and high confidence level of the regression model could be obtained. Genetic algorithm was implemented for both system optimizer and subspace regression model optimization. Virtual nozzle was located at the end of throat to adjust the back pressure. With only 20 aerodynamic analyses, optimal supersonic diffuser shape which has 14% improved total pressure recovery characteristics was successfully designed.
Structural integrity can be accessed from dynamic deformations of structures. Moreover, dynamic deformations can be acquired from non-contact sensors such as video cameras. Kanade-Lucas-Tomasi (KLT) algorithm is one of the commonly used methods for motion tracking. However, averaging throughout the extracted features would induce bias in the measurement. In addition, pixel-wise measurements can be converted to physical units through camera intrinsic. Still, the depth information is unreachable without prior knowledge of the space information. The assigned homogeneous coordinates would then mismatch manually selected feature points, resulting in measurement errors during coordinate transformation. In this study, a two-stage optimization method for video-based measurements is proposed. The manually selected feature points are first optimized by minimizing the errors compared with the homogeneous coordinate. Then, the optimized points are utilized for the KLT algorithm to extract displacements through inverse projection. Two additional criteria are employed to eliminate outliers from KLT, resulting in more reliable displacement responses. The second-stage optimization subsequently fine-tunes the geometry of the selected coordinates. The optimization process also considers the number of interpolation points at different depths of an image to reduce the effect of out-of-plane motions. As a result, the proposed method is numerically investigated by using a truss bridge as a physics-based graphic model (PBGM) to extract high-accuracy displacements from recorded videos under various capturing angles and structural conditions.
This paper describes a methodology for the development of models of discrete event system(DES). The methodology is based on transformation of continuous state space into discrete one to homomorphically represent dynamics of continuous processes in discrete events. This paper proposes a formal structure which can couple DES models within a framework. The structure employs the DEVS formalism for the DES models. The proposed formal structure has been applied to develop a DEVS model for the human cardiovascular system. For this, the cardiac cycle is partitioned into a set of phases based on events identified through VisSim simulation in the CS of the electrical analog model. VisSim is the simulation tool of visual environment for developing continuous, discrete, and hybrid system models and performing dynamic simulation. For each phase, a CS of the electrical analog model for the cardiovascular system has been simulated by VisSim 2.0. To validate this model, first develop the DEVS model, then simulate the model in the DEVSIM++ environment. It has same simulation results for the data obtained from the CS simulation using VisSim. The comparison shows that the DEVS model represents dynamics of the human heart system at each phase of cardiac cycle.
This paper describes a methodology for the development of models of discrete event system. The methodology is based on transformation of continuous state space into discrete one to homomorphically represent dynamics of continuous processes in discrete events. This paper proposes a formal structure which can coupled discrete event system models within a framework. The structure employs the discrete event specification formalism for the discrete event system models. The proposed formal structure has been applied to develop a discrete event specification model for the complex spectral density analysis of strip for urin analyzer system. For this, spectral density data of strip is partitioned into a set of Phases based on events identified through urine spectrophotometry. For each phase, a continuous system of the continuous model for the urine spectral density analysis has been simulated by programmed C++. To validate this model, first develop the discrets event specification model, then simulate the model in the DEVSIM++ environment. It has the similar simulation results for the data obtained from the continuous system simulation. The comparison shows that the discrete event specification model represents dynamics of the urine spectral density at each phase.
Organizations are attempting a digital transformation that converts physical business processing into virtual business processing. Through this digital transformation, organizations are overcoming time and space constraints and creating competitiveness. The digital transformation of this work environment has been accelerated as many organizations have implemented remote work due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic. This study focused on business process virtualizability, which is the result of the rapid digital transformation of the work environment. Business process virtualizability is the resulting quality, such as the suitability or excellence of business processing in a virtual environment. This research model is the effect of process, IT and organizational characteristics on business process virtualizability. As a result of the verification of people who have experienced remote work in a virtual environment, first, it was confirmed that, in terms of process characteristics, sensory requirements affect business process virtualizability, but relationship requirements, synchronism requirements, and identification and control requirements do not. Second, in terms of IT characteristics, it was confirmed that representation and reach affect business process virtualizability. Third, it was confirmed that, in terms of organizational characteristics, job autonomy affects business process virtualizability, but evaluation unfairness does not. This study found that representation and reach of IT had the most significant influence on business process virtualizability, job autonomy was next, and sensory requirements had the lowest influence. This presents practical implications for organizations to increase the success potential of business process virtualizability.
