  • In the ongoing standardization of Versatile Video Coding (VVC), DCT-2, DST-7 and DCT-8 are designated as the vital primary transform kernels. Due to the effectiveness of DST-4 and DCT-4 in smaller resolution sequences, DST-4 and DCT-4 transform kernel can also be used as the replacement of the DST-7 and DCT-8 transform kernel respectively. While storing all of those transform kernels, ROM memory storage is considered as the major issue. So, to deal with this scenario, a unified DST-3 based transform kernel derivation method is proposed in this paper. The transform kernels used in this paper is DCT-2, DST-4 and DCT-4 transform kernels. The proposed ROM memory required to store the matrix elements is 1368 bytes each of 8-bit precision.

이산 웨이블렛 변환을 이용한 자유감쇠 횡요 데이타의 분리 (Decoupling of Free Decay Roll Data by Discrete Wavelet Transform)

  • This study presents the results of decoupling of free decay roll test data by discrete wavelet transform. Free roll decay test was performed to decide the coefficients of damping terms in equation of motion. During the experiment, a slight yaw motion was found while the model was in the free roll decay motion. Discrete wavelet transform was applied to the signal to extract the pure roll motion. The results were compared to those of the Fourier transform. DWT was able to decouple the two signals efficiently while the Fourier transform was not.

A Study on the Performance of the Watermarking with Wavelet Transform

  • Wavelet transforms are used for implementing digital watermarking methods in the frequency domain. In this paper, we construct the digital watermarking using various wavelet transforms such as the Daubechies transform, Coiflets transform, Symlets transform and the biorthogonal transform, and we compare each digital watermarking method with the others. We investigate the preservation of the watermark after the data compression attack based on the discrete on the discrete cosine transform. We show that the biorthogonal wavelet, denoted by bior3.5, has the best performance among the wavelet types we selected in an experiment.

  • 두 개의 웨이브렛이 근사 힐버트 변환 쌍을 형성하도록 설계될 때, 동시에 사용된 웨이브렛 변환 쌍은 펄스와 같은 광대역 신호의 검출과 동일한 대역폭에서 비트 전송율을 증가시키는 분야 등에서 기존의 DWT(discrete wavelet transform)에 비해 우수한 성능을 나타낸다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 이러한 근사 힐버트 변환 쌍을 형성하는 두 개의 dyadic 웨이브렛 기저를 설계하였으며, 설계과정에서 두 개의 필터가 힐버트 변환 관계를 형성하도록 절단된 계수 벡터를 갖는 플래트 딜레이 필터를 사용하였다.

  • Recently the subject of "wavelet analysis" has be drawn by both mathematical and engineering application fields such as Signal Processing, Compression/Decomposition, Wavelet-Neural Network, Statistics and etc. Even though its similar to courier analysis, wavelet is a versatile tool with much mathematical content and great potential for applications. Especially, wavelet transform uses localizable various mother wavelet functions in time-frequency domain. Therefore, wavelet transform has good time-analysis ability for high frequency component, and has good frequency-analysis ability for low frequency component. Using the discriminative ability is more easy method than other conventional techniques. In this paper, Morlet wavelet transform was applied to discriminate the kind of line fault by acquired data from real power transformation network. The experimental result presented that Morlet wavelet transform is easier, and more useful method than the FFW (Fast courier Transform).ransform).

  • In this article, a homotopy perturbation transform method (HPTM) and the Laplace transform combined with Taylor expansion method are presented for solving Volterra integral equations with a convolution kernel. The (HPTM) is innovative in Laplace transform algorithm and makes the calculation much simpler while in the Laplace transform and Taylor expansion method we first convert the integral equation to an algebraic equation using Laplace transform then we find its numerical inversion by power series. The numerical solution obtained by the proposed methods indicate that the approaches are easy computationally and its implementation very attractive. The methods are described and numerical examples are given to illustrate its accuracy and stability.

웨이브렛 변환을 이용한 전자빔 용접 진단 (Electron Beam Welding Diagnosis Using Wavelet Transform)

  • Wavelet transform analysis results show a spectrum energy distribution of CWT along scale factors distinguish the partial, full and over penetration in a electron beam welding by analyzing the curve of spectrum energy at small scale, middle and large scale range, respectively. Two types of signals collected by Ion collector and x-ray sensors and analyzed. The acquired signals from sensors are very complicated since these signals are very closely related the dynamics of keyhole which interact the very high density energy with materials during welding. The results show the wavelet transform is more effective to diagnosis than Fourier Transform, further for the general welding defects which are not a periodic based, but a transient, non-stationary and time-varying phenomena.

  • 재킷 변환은 단순한 계산과 용이한 역변환, 그리고 크기 유연성을 갖는 변환의 일종이다. 재킷 변환은 잘 알려진 월쉬-아다마르 변환(WHT)과 중앙 하중 아다마르 변환(CWHT)의 일반화로서 이전 연구에서 보고한 바 있다. 본 논문에서는 WHT 또는 CWHT에서 유도되지 않는 새로운 부류의 재킷 변환을 제시한다. 이러한 부류의 변환은 임의의 우수 길이를 갖는 벡터에 대해 적용할 수 있고, 유한체에 대해 응용할 수 있으며, 오류 정정 부호의 구성에서도 유용하다.

정지 영상 화질 평가와 Contourlet 변환을 이용한 압축 방법에 관한 연구 (The study of image quality evaluation and compression method using contourlet transform)

  • The wavelet transform was adopted as the transform for JPEG2000. However, wavelet has weakness about smoothness along the contours and limited directional information. So we use to other transform, called contourlet transform in compression. Objective quality assessment methods currently used Peak signal to noise Ratio(PSNR). But that is not very well matched to perceived visual quality. So new image quality assessment is required. In this paper, we propose a new method for image compression based on the contourlet transform, which has been recently introduced. In addition we evaluated compression image quality using PSNR and SSIM. Finally contourlet transform has a good result about images with smooth contours and SSIM is good method for image evaluation compared to PSNR.

Integral Transforms in Electromagnetic Formulation

  • In this research, integral transform technique for electromagnetic scattering formulation is reviewed. Electromagnetic boundary-value problems are presented to demonstrate how the integral transforms are utilized in electromagnetic propagation, antennas, and electromagnetic interference/compatibility. Various canonical structures of slotted conductors are used for illustration; moreover, Fourier transform, Hankel transform, Mellin transform, Kontorovich-Lebedev transform, and Weber transform are presented. Starting from each integral transform definition, the general procedures for solving Helmholtz's equation or Laplace's equation for the potentials in the unbounded region are reviewed. The boundary conditions of field continuity are incorporated into particular formulations. Salient features of each integral transform technique are discussed.
