진동타입기의 사하중이 말뚝의 하중전이 특성에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Bias Weight of Vibratory Pile Driver on Load Transfer Characteristics of Piles)

  • 진동타입기에 의해 시공되는 말뚝 해석을 위해 해석기법을 개발하고 진동타입기의 사하중 크기 변화에 따른 해석결과를 분석하였다. 주면마찰에 대한 하중전이곡선은 사하중이 감소함에 따라 연직하향으로 이동하는 결과를 보였다. 사하중이 감소함에 따라 주면마찰에 대한 하중전이곡선의 형상은 점점 뚜렷한 코일 형상을 띄었다. 선단저항의 크기는 사하중의 크기에 큰 영향을 받지 않음을 알 수 있었으며 선단저항에 대한 하중전이곡선의 형상은 주면마찰에 대한 하중전이곡선에서와 마찬가지로 사하중이 감소함에 따라 점점 뚜렷한 코일 형상을 띔을 알 수 있었다. 사하중이 증가함에 따라 연직변위도 크게 계산되었으며 시간에 따른 연직변위의 형상에 있어서는 사하중이 감소함에 따라 마루와 골이 점점 뚜렷해지는 파형을 보였다.

  • Since the allowable bearing capacities of piles in weathered/fractured rock are mainly governed by settlement, the load-displacement behavior of the rock socketed pile should be well known. To predict pile head settlement at the design stage, the exact understanding of the load-transfer mechanisms is essential. Therefore, in this research, the load-transfer mechanisms of drilled shaft socketed into weathered rock was investigated. For that, 5 cast-in-place concrete piles with diameters of 1,000 mm were socketed into weathered gneiss. The static axial load tests and the load-transfer measurements were performed to examine the axial resistant behavior of the piles. A comprehensive field/laboratory testing program on weathered rock at the field test sites was also performed to describe the in situ rock mass conditions quantitatively. And then, the effect of rock mass condition on the load transfer mechanism was investigated. The side shear resistance of the pile in moderately weathered rock reached to yielding point at a few millimeter displacements, and after that, the rate of resistance increment dramatically decreased. However, that in the highly /completely weathered rock did not show the obvious yielding point, and gradually increased showing the hyperbolic pattern until with the relatively high displacement (>10 mm). The end bearing-displacement curves showed linear increase at least until with the base displacement of approximately 10 mm, regardless rock mass conditions.

Distribution and drug resistance of Salmonella isolated from dairy cow)

  • This paper dealt with the distribution of Salmonella (S) infection on 4 herds in Kyungju and Taegu during the period from May to October 1986. Isolated Salmonella were examined for serotypes, antimicrobial drug resistance and detection of R plasmid. The results obtained were summarised as followings: 1. Of total 4.622 samples from 4 herds, 67 Salmonella were isolated from 51 samples(1.1%), and their serovar strains were S typhimurium 6, S derby 5, S infantis 4, S bareilly 4, S dublin 3, S anatum 2, S montevideo 2 and untypable 41. 2. The isolation rate of Salmonella was higher in summer and autumn. 3. Of the 67 strains examined, 45 (67.2%) were resistant to one or more antibiotics, such as ampicillin (Am), cephalothin (Ce), chloramphenicol (Cm), rifampicin (Rf), sulfadimethoxine (Su), and tetracycline (Tc), and higher resistant to Sm (40.2%), Ce (31.3%), Am (23.9%). 4. Of the 45 resistant Salmonella strains, 44 (97.8%) harbored conjugative R plasmids and the transfer frequency of Sm (100%), Ce (95.2%), Tc (91.0%) and Su (80.0%) resistance was much higher than that of the other drug resistance. 5. The most common resistant patterns were Sm, Ce, AmCeCmSmSuTc, and AmCe. 6. In 4 herds, the incidience of drug resistance was 57.7%~100% and transfer frequency of conjugative R plasmid was 96.1%~100%.

Effects of Plasma Treatment on Contact Resistance and Sheet Resistance of Graphene FET

  • We investigated the effect of capacitively coupled Ar plasma treatment on contact resistance ($R_c$) and channel sheet resistance ($R_{sh}$) of graphene field effect transistors (FETs), by varying their channel length in the wide range from 200 nm to $50{\mu}m$ which formed the transfer length method (TLM) patterns. When the Ar plasma treatment was performed on the long channel ($10{\sim}50{\mu}m$) graphene FETs for 20 s, $R_c$ decreased from 2.4 to $1.15k{\Omega}{\cdot}{\mu}m$. It is understood that this improvement in $R_c$ is attributed to the formation of $sp^3$ bonds and dangling bonds by the plasma. However, when the channel length of the FETs decreased down to 200 nm, the drain current ($I_d$) decreased upon the plasma treatment because of the significant increase of channel $R_{sh}$ which was attributed to the atomic structural disorder induced by the plasma across the transfer length at the edge of the channel region. This study suggests a practical guideline to reduce $R_c$ using various plasma treatments for the $R_c$ sensitive graphene and other 2D material devices, where $R_c$ is traded off with $R_{sh}$.

부성 임피던스 변환기를 적용한 자기공명 방식 무선전력전송 시스템의 효율 개선 (Improvement of Power Transfer Efficiency Using Negative Impedance Converter for Wireless Power Transfer System with Magnetic Resonant Coupling)

  • 본 논문에서는 부성 임피던스 변환기(Negative Impedance Converter: NIC)를 적용한 무선전력전송 시스템을 제안하였다. 차폐물질의 영향을 고려하여 전송 시스템을 구성하였다. 전송효율 개선을 위하여 부성 임피던스 변환기에서 발생한 부성저항을 적용하여 송신단의 Q 인자가 향상했다. NIC는 연산증폭기와 저항 소자로 구현하였으며, 특정 저항에 따른 부성저항 특성을 얻었다. 송신 코일의 크기는 $250mm{\times}250mm{\times}0.8mm$이며, 임피던스와 Q 인자는 각각 $31+j1874{\Omega}$, 60이다. 부성저항이 약 $30{\Omega}$일 때, 송신단의 저항이 감소하여 Q 인자는 약 900으로 증가했으며, 이는 기존 대비 약 15배 향상된 결과이다. 제안하는 시스템에 대하여 전송 효율을 측정하였으며, 기존 시스템과 비교하여 효율이 크게 향상되었다. 따라서 NIC의 효과로 전송 효율이 개선될 수 있는 것을 검증하였다.

  • To examine the enhancement mechanism of condensing heat transfer through microfin tube, the condensation experiments with refrigerant HCFC 22 are performed using 4 and 6 kinds of microfin tubes with outer diameter of 9.52mm and 7.0mm, respectively. Used microfin tubes have different shape and number of fins with each other The main heat transfer enhancement mechanism is known to be the enlargement of heat transfer area and turbulence promotion. Together with these main factors, we can find other enhancement factors by the experimental data, which are the overflow of the refrigerant over the microfin and microfin arrangement. The overflow of the refrigerant over the microfin can be analyzed by the geometric shape of the microfin. Microfin tubes having a shape which can give much overflow over the microfin show large condensing heat transfer coefficients. The effect of microfin arrangement is related to the heat transfer resistance of liquid film of refrigerant. The condensing heat transfer coefficients are high for the microfin tube with even distribution of liquid film.

  • An NAO friction material (low-steel type) containing 15 ingredients was investigated to study the role of transfer film on the friction characteristics. The friction material specimens with extra 100% of each ingredient were tested using a pad-on-disk type tribotester. A non-destructive method of measuring the transfer film was developed by considering the electric resistance of the transfer film. Results showed that solid lubricants and iron powder assisted transfer film formation on the rotor surface. Average friction coefficient was independent of transfer film thickness in this experiment. On the other hand, the thick transfer film on the rotor surface reduced the amplitude of friction oscillation under temperature conditions ( 250$^{\circ}C$) that transfer film forms.

Six kinds of oval fin having the same fin area and different diameter ratio tested numerically. Test data for the heat transfer, pressure drop and fin temperature were shown and discussed. The pressure drop and heat transfer increased for increasing the oval fin diameter ratio(diameter of span-wise direction to diameter of longitudinal diameter) up to 50% and 45% respectively.

  • Cracks in concrete can submit shear forces by virtue of the roughness of their interfaces. With regard to this roughness, the crack faces play an important role. By transmitting normal and shear stress across their faces, shear cracks contribute to shear resistance. This process is called shear transfer or more generally, shear friction. Both experimental and analytical program to investigate shear transfer mechanism in normal and high strength concrete were included in this study. The parameters investigated in push-off test included the concrete strength, the presence and amounts of steel stirrups, and aggregate size. Solution procedure based on the truss model was developed to analyze the shear transfer behavior. In general, it can be seen that the analytical results agree well with results of shear transfer test.
