Robust Generalized Labeled Multi-Bernoulli Filter and Smoother for Multiple Target Tracking using Variational Bayesian

  • Multiple target tracking mainly focuses on tracking unknown number of targets in the complex environment of clutter and missed detection. The generalized labeled multi-Bernoulli (GLMB) filter has been shown to be an effective approach and attracted extensive attention. However, in the scenarios where the clutter rate is high or measurement-outliers often occur, the performance of the GLMB filter will significantly decline due to the Gaussian-based likelihood function is sensitive to clutter. To solve this problem, this paper presents a robust GLMB filter and smoother to improve the tracking performance in the scenarios with high clutter rate, low detection probability, and measurement-outliers. Firstly, a Student-T distribution variational Bayesian (TDVB) filtering technology is employed to update targets' states. Then, The likelihood weight in the tracking process is deduced again. Finally, a trajectory smoothing method is proposed to improve the integrative tracking performance. The proposed method are compared with recent multiple target tracking filters, and the simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively improve tracking accuracy in the scenarios with high clutter rate, low detection rate and measurement-outliers.   • Adaptive neural networks based lateral controller is presented to guarantee path following performance for vehicle lane keeping in the presence of parameter time-varying characteristics of the vehicle lateral dynamics due to the road surface condition, load distribution, tire pressure and so on. The proposed adaptive controller could compensate vehicle lateral dynamics deviated from nominal dynamics resulting from parameter variations by incorporating it with neural networks that have the ability to approximate any given nonlinear function by adjusting weighting matrices. The controller is derived by using Lyapunov-based approach, which provides adaptive update rules for weighting matrices of neural networks. To show the superiority of the presented adaptive neural networks controller, the simulation results are given while comparing with backstepping controller chosen as the baseline controller. According to the simulation results, it is shown that the proposed controller can effectively keep the vehicle tracking the pre-given trajectory in high velocity and curvature with much accuracy under parameter variations.

슬라이딩 표면을 이용한 로봇 매니퓰레이터의 강건한 적응 마찰 제어 (A Robust Adaptive Friction Control of Robot Manipulators using Sliding Surface)

  • In this paper, a robust adaptive controller is proposed for trajectory tracking of robot manipulators with the unknown friction coefficient and bounded disturbance. A new adaptive control law is developed based on sliding mode and derived from the Lyapunov stability analysis. The introduction of a boundary layer solves the problem of chattering. The proposed adaptive controller is globally asymptotically stable and guarantees zero steady state error for joint positions. The estimated friction coefficients can also approach the actual coefficients asymptotically. A simulation example is provided to demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithm.

  • 모델 기준 제어(MRC)는 플랜트가 주어진 기준 모델의 거동을 추종하도록 플랜트를 제어하는 제어 기법이다. 기준 모델은 플랜트가 추종할 이상적인 궤적을 제공한다. 지금까지 많은 종류의 MRC가 제안되었지만, 본 논문에서는 모델 기준 슬라이딩 모드 제어(MRSMC)에 대해 제어 대상 플랜트가 불확실성을 갖는 단일 입출력 2차 시변 선형 시스템인 경우에 대해 연구를 수행하였다. 본 논문에서 MRSMC를 위한 기준 모델의 설계 방법이 제안하였다. 제안된 방법은 제한된 제어 입력, 기준 입력, 시스템 파라미터에 대한 정보를 사용하여 기준 모델을 선정한다. 이러한 선정 결과는 고정된 기준 모델의 선정, 계단 입력 인가시의 가변 기준 모델 갱신, 매 샘플링 시간마다 순간 기준 모델의 갱신 등으로 이용할 수 있다. 모터의 위치 제어 시스템에 대한 시뮬레이션 결과는 제안된 방법의 효용성을 보여준다.

Adaptive Tracking Controller Design for Welding Mobile Manipulator with Unknown Parameters

  • This paper presents an adaptive tracking control method for a welding mobile manipulator with several unknown parameters such as the last length of the manipulator, the wheel radius and the distance from the center to the wheel. The mobile manipulator consisted of the manipulator and the mobile-platform. Kinematic modelings for the manipulator and the mobile-platform with several unknown parameters were produced. The tracking error vectors for the manipulator and the mobile-platform were defined. These adaptive controllers were designed based on the Lyapunov function to guarantee the stability of the whole system when the mobile manipulator performs a welding task. Update laws were also designed to estimate the unknown dimensional parameters. To implement the designed controllers, a control system integrated with PIC16F877 microprocessors and a TMS320C32 DSP was developed. Simulation and experimental results are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed controllers.

  • This paper presents an underwater navigation system based on range measurements from a known reference station fixed on the sea bottom or floated at surface with a buoy, for which the system is extended to 3-dimensional coordinates. We formulated a state equation in polar coordinates and constituted an extended Kalman filter for discrete-time implementation of the navigation algorithm. The autonomous underwater vehicle, lSiMl, cruising with a constant speed can estimate its trajectory using just range measurements and additional depth, heading and pitch sensors. Simulation studies were performed to evaluate the underwater navigation of the maneuvering AUV with range measurements. We modulated the sample rate of range measurements to evaluate the effect of the update rate, and changed the initial position error of the AUV to check the robustness to estimation errors. Simulation results illustrates that the extended navigation system provides convergence of the state estimates. The navigation system was conditionally stable when it had initial position errors.

  • The reference model of an MRC (model reference control) provides the desired trajectory a plant should follow and thus the design of a reference model has a significant effect on control performance. In most control systems control input to a plant has some bounds and it is preferable to make use of as large control inputs as possible within the range of no saturation. In this paper a new approach of selecting the reference model is proposed for bounded control inputs. Design variables of the reference model are determined in such a way that maximizes the performance index within the range of no saturation. Moreover this variable reference model is regularly updated during control. This scheme is verified by application to the servo motor position control system in various simulations. The responses of the MRC with a variable reference model show better tracking performance than that with a fixed reference mode. Moreover by adjusting the update interval of the reference model the control performance can be further improved.

  • This paper introduces a control algorithm for trajectory control of an electro-hydrostatic rotary actuator. A key feature of this paper is that an adaptive PID based on sliding mode is used to control the nonlinearity and uncertainty factor of single input/output system. Accurate knowledge of rotary actuator angle can result in high-performance and efficiency of electro hydraulic system. First, the position control is formulated using the adaptive PID with sliding mode technique and uncertainties in the hydraulic system. Second, the controller can update the PID gains on-line based on error caused by external disturbance and uncertain factors in the system. Finally, three experimental cases were studied to evaluate the proposed control method.

템플릿 추적 문제를 위한 효율적인 슬라이딩 윈도우 기반 URV Decomposition 알고리즘 (A Fast and Efficient Sliding Window based URV Decomposition Algorithm for Template Tracking)

  • Template tracking refers to the procedure of finding the most similar image patch corresponding to the given template through an image sequence. In order to obtain more accurate trajectory of the template, the template requires to be updated to reflect various appearance changes as it traverses through an image sequence. To do that, appearance images are used to model appearance variations and these are obtained by the computation of the principal components of the augmented image matrix at every iteration. Unfortunately, it is prohibitively expensive to compute the principal components at every iteration. Thus in this paper, we suggest a new Sliding Window based truncated URV Decomposition (TURVD) algorithm which enables updating their structure by recycling their previous decomposition instead of decomposing the image matrix from the beginning. Specifically, we show an efficient algorithm for updating and downdating the TURVD simultaneously, followed by the rank-one update to the TURVD while tracking the decomposition error accurately and adjusting the truncation level adaptively. Experiments show that the proposed algorithm produces no-meaningful differences but much faster execution speed compared to the typical algorithms in template tracking applications, thereby maintaining a good approximation for the principal components.

  • To index the object's trajectory is an important aspect in moving object database management. This paper implements an optimizing index structure named Rend 3D R-tree based on 3D R-Tree. This paper demonstrates the time period update method to reconstruct the MBR for the moving objects in order to decrease the dead space that is produced in the closed time dimension of the 3D R-tree, then a rend method is introduced for indexing both current data and history data. The result of experiments illustrates that given methods outperforms 3D R-Tree and LUR tree in query processes.
