Live-Virtual 시뮬레이터 모의특성 보정에 관한 연구 : 중력가속도에 따른 조종사의 기동제한 특성 기반 (A Study on the Calibration of Simulation Characteristics of Live-Virtual Simulator System : To Impose Restrictions on a Maneuverability of a Simulated Aircraft Due to Pilot's G-force)

  • Recently, Korea Air Force has been facing a lot of problems in its pilot training system such as training time shortage due to the expensive gas price, noise pollution and difficulties in finding airspace for training. To tackle these problems, a new training system (called L-V training system) using both aircraft and its simulator has been suggested. In the system, a data link is established between aircraft and simulator to exchange their flight information. Using the flight information of simulator, aircraft can perform various air missions with or against imaginary aircraft (i.e., simulator). For this system, it is crucially important that fair fighting condition has to be guaranteed between aircraft and simulator. In this paper, we suggested an approach to impose a maneuvering restriction to simulator in order to provide fair fighting condition between aircraft and simulator.

회전익 항공기용 가변형 전술용 시뮬레이터의 음향 재생 시스템 제작 (Implementation of the Aural Cueing System of the Reconfigurable Tactical SFTS for the Rotor Aircraft)

  • We implemented the Aural Cueing System(ACS) system of the reconfigurable tactical trainer(RTT) for th rotor aircraft. RTT provides a collective training system to meet aviation training requirements and supports organizational training for aviations units in combined arms collective training and mission rehearsal. ACS handles the volume, pitch and repetition of the digitally stored sounds based on commands it receives from an UDP/IP. In this paper, we explained and implemented the conceptual and detail design the ACS system for the rotor aircraft such as AH-1H(Iroquios), UH-60(Blackhwak), AH-1(Cobra) etc. The conceptual design composed of the sound cueing data analysis, sound modelling which is inner, outer, weapon and warn environment of rotor aircraft, sound synthesis and replay.

  • The government conducted an aviation expert training project in 2013. But unfortunately, only pilots and international experts were targeted and aircraft maintenance engineers that are the most important to safety were not trainee to the training courses. More importantly, the more the absolute number of aircrafts increases, the more demand for aircraft maintenance engineers are going up as well. Through the evaluation indicators for the Government-Sponsored Program Fostering Aviation Personnel(aircraft maintenance engineers). it figured out factors associated with the Government-Sponsored Program Fostering Aircraft Maintenance Engineers and it suggested a baseline data necessary to inspect and manage professional training institutions. Thanks to the development of the evaluation indicators, it is highly expected that difference among institutions will be narrowed, elevated level of management of the institutions will help foster and yield satisfactory aircraft maintenance engineers.

  • 현재 항공기, 자동차 교육훈련용 시뮬레이터는 지상에 설치된 시뮬레이터에 가상의 상황을 구현하여 교육생에게 다양한 교육훈련 내용을 제공하고 교관은 다른 공간에서 교육훈련에 대한 내용을 모니터링하고 교육훈련에 필요한 내용은 바로 지시하여 교육훈련의 효과를 극대화하고 있다. 하지만 교육생이 실제 항공기나 자동차를 탑승하여 훈련을 진행 할 경우 관제센터의 교관은 항공기나, 자동차에 대한 내용을 관제센터에서 모니터링 할 수 없고 교육 종료 후 교육훈련 내용에 대한 평가가 쉽지 않아 교육생에게 양질의 교육이 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 항공기, 자동차에 GPS 정보와 항공기 또는 자동차의 각종 정보를 실시간으로 수집하여 3D 영상 시뮬레이션을 구현하며 화면에 현재 항공기 또는 자동차의 영상을 3차원으로 구현하여 관제센터에서 교육훈련 상황을 실시간으로 모니터링 및 교육훈련에 활용하고 3D 영상 파일을 저장하여 교육훈련 종료 후 교육생과 교관이 교육훈련 내용에 대하여 평가와 분석을 할 수 있는 시뮬레이션 시스템을 개발하고자 한다.

A Study on Improving Aircraft Maintenance Licensing System of South Korea for Mutual Recognition Between Countries

  • The purpose of this study is to present the internationalization of South Korea's aircraft maintenance certificate for mutual recognition of aircraft maintenance license qualifications among various countries in preparation for an internationalization of the work conducted by the aviation industry. To achieve this objective, this study reviews the aircraft maintenance license training system and compares the standards for aircraft maintenance certification established by the Convention on International Civil Aviation with the standards for issuing domestic aircraft maintenance licenses. This comparative analysis shows that the domestic curriculum of aircraft maintenance licenses differs from international standards. As a result of this study, an improvement plan of the education content was proposed to enable the licensing qualifications of domestic aircraft maintenance licenses to be mutually recognized among different countries.

Implementation of JDAM virtual training function using machine learning

  • TA-50 항공기는 공중전에 대비하여 공대공, 공대지 사격 훈련 등 다양한 상황에 대한 모의 훈련을 수행하고 있다. 또한 조종사의 실전 배치 전 훈련용으로도 사용되고 있다. 그러나 TA-50은 스마트 무장 운용 능력을 보유하고 있지 않아 훈련에 제한이 되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 TA-50 항공기에 스마트 무장 중 하나인 합동정밀직격탄(JDAM)의 가상훈련이 가능하도록 구현하고자 하였다. 먼저, TA-50 항공기와 유사한 기종인 FA-50 항공기에 구현된 JDAM 기능을 분석하였다. 또한 FA-50 항공기에 구현된 기능은 소스코드의 직접 활용이 불가능하므로 머신러닝 기법(TensorFlow)을 활용하여 알고리즘을 추출하였다. 본 기능을 구현함으로써 실 무장을 장착하지 않아도 실제와 유사한 훈련이 가능할 것으로 기대된다. 마지막으로 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 연구의 한계점을 보완하여 실제와 동일하게 구현할 수 있는 방안을 제안하고자 한다.

인간공학실험용 항공기 모의비행훈련장비 개발 (Aircraft flight simulator development for ergonomics test)

  • An aircraft simulator for ergonomics testing and pilot training was developed from the joint work Agency for Defense Development(ADD) and Daewoo Heavy Industry, LTD, in Korea at first time. It is basically to satisfy the requirements established by FAA-AC-120-40C ( 1995-JAN-26). The aircraft simulator will be used mainly for ergonomics testing and pilot training for basic trainer on ADD and Korea Air Force in near futrue. This simulator reproduces faithfully the cockpit and flight characteristics of the KTX-1 aircraft. It is one of the latest full flight simulators that have the CGI(computer graphic image) visual system and six degree of freedom motions system. Development efforts focused on user-oriented design approach for ergonomics testing and flight training of pilots. Main characteristics of each subsystem are described such as cockpit, instruments, control loading system, motion system, visual system, aural system, instructor operation station and aircraft simulation softwear.

교육용 소형 항공기의 형상 모델링과 공력 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Configuration Modeling and Aerodynamic Analysis of Small Airplanes for Flight Training)

  • This paper presents comparative results of configuration modeling and aerodynamic analysis to single-engine airplanes such as C-172, SR-20, and DA40NG. The software OpenVSP was used as an airplane configuration modeling tool. OpenVSP can provide the fastest method to get three-dimensional aircraft configuration from given basic data and drawings of aircraft. Parametric design input in OpenVSP, from given aircraft geometric parameters, was applied to small airplanes mentioned. New aircraft models in this study were reversely designed to coincide with the publicly obtained dimensions of the original aircraft. The basic aerodynamic analysis of newly designed modeling aircraft was performed by the vortex lattice method. Results are shown that the similarity of aerodynamic data obtained except for the lack of DA40NG. In conclusion, the modeling process applied to this work is valuable to obtain conceptual design insight in the reverse design from the small airplanes currently in use for flight training.

항공사 CRM 훈련과정 특성에 따른 승무원 훈련만족도 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Airline's CRM (Crew Resource Management) Training Programs and Flight Crews' Satisfaction)

  • It has been focused on that the major reasons of aircraft accidents resulted not from human error but from the failure of teamwork or communication in 1980's. Such opinions were suggested in the workshop, so called, "Resource Management on the Flight Deck" by NASA in 1979. The researchers agreed the fact the source of human error was originated from the failure in teamwork, communication or even in leadership of captain. Due to the rapid development of aircraft technologies, the reasons for aircraft accident could be easily found out. According to the analysis results of the technology, most of reasons for the accident might directly be connected not to human error or stick-Rudder skill but to situational awareness, communication, leadership or decision making in the aircraft. This paper has tried to research empirically the satisfaction of flight crews who have gone thorugh CRM training in the commercial airline. Based on the quantitative scale by J. Ford et al. (2014), this paper has proved which characteristics of CRM training has a positive impact on the overall satisfaction of CRM training. It was proven that the teamwork and decision making programs among CRM training have a major effect to the satisfaction level of flight crews.
