This study aims to explore the policy directions to apply and activate the appropriate technology in rural areas from the perspective of the endogenous and sustainable regional development theories. To this end, according to the analysis framework based on ideas, values, and strategies that are common to both endogenous regional development strategic theories and sustainable regional development theories, in this paper, various surveys and reviews were conducted on the study areas to explore the possibility of localization of the appropriate technology. The policy implications derived from research results are as follows; first, rural areas have high potential and scalability to apply and activate the appropriate technology, particularly in the field of renewable energy, due to their nature based on local resources. Second, for the practical application of the appropriate technology, first of all, together with the establishment of the role of public sector, it is necessary to plan the projects based on the cooperation network of the relevant innovation entities within and outside the regions and to build the implementation systems. Third, the training system for high skilled manpower and indigenous entrepreneurs should be stably built in order to create independent conditions, which are key elements for growth of the appropriate technology. Fourth, there is a need to find the market and establish policies that can solve the typical economic problems of rural areas such as aging population, depopulation and decline in youth, economic unrest. Fifth, in order for the appropriate technology to contribute to socio-economic innovations and the revitalization of the virtuous circle economy in the region, technical items and various business items suitable for the industrial infrastructures and autonomous conditions of rural areas are essential.

The purpose of this study is to raise the need for the management of the deposit copy and preservation of government publications issued by Regional Local Government, and to present improvements to the problems of the management of government publications. To achieve this objective, a list of government publications of Regional Local Government is investigated, and interviews are conducted with record managers and librarians. During the investigation, there were difficulties in identifying the publication list of government publications, and there were fewer government publications that matched the RLG's list of holdings and the list of deposit copies delivered to the National Archives. The proposed improvements include formulating a list of government publications' registrations, constituting list elements of closed publication and partial disclosure of government publications, mandating registration and notification of government publications, specifying the management of government publications in the division of duties for record managers and staff of production departments, and encouraging them to receive training in administration of government publications.

In this paper, the security behaviors and attitudes related with the personal information of teenagers were investigated using empirical data based on rational behavior theory and protection motivation theory. An experiment for teenagers was conducted on Excel and the statistical packages (i.e., SPSS 21.0 and SmartPLS2.0.M3) to see how self-efficiency, security attitude, security intention and individual innovation affect their security behaviors. The experimental results showed that the security behaviors and attitudes of teenagers between internet and information devices are closely related, and the social influences can affect personal self-efficacy and security attitudes. Finally, we can know that teenagers should recognize the importance of security and protect their personal information safely through continuous education and training so that they can be linked to security behaviors.

Purpose: This study aimed to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of an adapted health literacy self-management intervention for elderly cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Methods: The intervention in this study was systematically developed through the six stages of Intervention Mapping Protocol and was based on Fransen et al's causal pathway model. A quasi-experimental trial was conducted on a total of 52 elderly patients (26 in an experimental group and 26 in a control group) undergoing chemotherapy in Korea. The intervention consisted of seven sessions over 5 weeks. The experimental tool for this study was an adapted health literacy self-management intervention, which was designed to promote a reduction in the symptom experience and distress of elderly cancer patients through the promotion of self-management behavior. To develop efficient educational materials, the participants' health literacy was measured. To educate participants, clear communication and the teach-back method were used. In addition, for the improvement of self-efficacy, four sources were utilized. For the promotion of self-management behavior, five self-management skills were strengthened. Data were collected before and after the intervention from June 4 to September 14, 2018. The data were analyzed with SPSS/WIN 21.0. Results: Following the intervention, self-management knowledge and behavior and, self-efficacy significantly improved in experimental group. Symptom experience and distress decreased in the experimental group compared to the control group. Conclusion: The self-management intervention presented in this study was found to be effective in increasing self-management knowledge and behavior and, self-efficacy, and ultimately in reducing symptom experience and distress for elderly patients undergoing chemotherapy.

This study suggested a plan to facilitate the use of research sources in Musicology based on examining information needs of researchers in the field and the status of using the sources. Through in-depth interviews of domestic researchers in Musicology, this study collected and analyzed the researchers' information needs, the status of utilizing the sources, perceived values of the sources and opinions about problems and solutions related to using the sources. Predicated on the analysis, the study noted the plan to facilitate the use of research sources in Musicology in three aspects. First, it is necessary to collect comprehensively and systematize the research sources. Second, education and promotion of the sources to users should be provided. Third, training music librarians and collaborating among the librarians and associated institutions are needed. The study can be used as a basis to effectively provide information and services developed by research institutions relating to Musicology and institutions of art and culture that effectively provide information.

In this paper, we propose a deep learning-based scheduling scheme for user selection in multi-user multi-antenna networks which is considered one of key technologies for the next generation mobile communication systems. We obtained 90,000 data samples from the conventional optimal scheme to train the proposed neural network and verified the trained neural network to check if the trained neural network is over-fitted. Although the proposed neural network-based scheduling algorithm requires considerable complexity and time for training in the initial stage, it does not cause any extra complexity once it has been trained successfully. On the other hand, the conventional optimal scheme continuously requires the same complexity of computations for every scheduling. According to extensive computer-simulations, the proposed deep learning-based scheduling algorithm yields about 88~96% average sum-rates of the conventional scheme for SNRs lower than 10dB, while it can achieve optimal average sum-rates for SNRs higher than 10dB.

Each college of dentistry in Korea is examining and reorganizing its own curriculum to prepare students for the practical examination of the National Dental Licensing Examination. Conducting an assessment of students' competency of communication skills with standardized patients is the first attempt for the examination. Yonsei University College of Dentistry carried out the evaluation of communication attitude, communication written exam, and communication skills practice with standardized patients for Third year predoctoral students. The purpose of this study is a) to find out the relationship between the variables measured in communication skills education and b) to make a new basis for the application of communication education and evaluation in dentistry. Based on the results of the study, the following suggestions for the operation of a dental communication curriculum can be drawn: First, the communication classes and the practice with standardized patients should be based on the wide support of the school. In addition, the patient-dentist interaction (PDI) should be practiced in the same way as practically possible by predoctoral students. Moreover, a space is required to allow predoctoral students to practice PDI. Second, the communication score given by the standardized patients was the most influential on the total score of PDI. This indicates that the communication practice with the standardized patients for the practical examination of the National Dental Licensing Examination is a meaningful process in the course of its communication education.

A flight training simulator of a fully spherical configuration is being developed to precisely and quickly control six degrees of freedom (Dof) motions especially with unlimited rotations. The full-scale simulator should be designed with a lightweight material to reduce inertial effects for fast and stable feedback controls while no structural failure is ensured during operations. In this study, a sandwich composite consisting of glass fiber reinforced plastics and a foam core is used to obtain high specific strengths and specific stiffnesses. T-type stainless steel frames are inserted to minimize the deformation of the sphere curvature. Finite element analysis is carried out to evaluate structural safety of the simulator composed of the sandwich sphere and steel frames. The analysis considers the weights of the equipment and trainee and it is assumed to be 200 kg. Gravity acceleration is also considered. The stresses and displacement acting on the simulator are calculated and the safety is assessed under two different situations.

Objective: The goals of this study were to analyze each of the reasons adopted by the Constitutional Court or the Courts for Decisions determined to permit the use of medical devices by Korean medicine doctors and to look at the medical devices from a Korean medical perspective. Materials and Methods: For this study, several judicial precedent databases were used for searching judicial precedents that handle the usage of medical devices by Korean medicine doctors. Prior studies on similar issues were considered. The Korean medicine textbooks and related research studies were also used in this study. Results: From 2000 to 2018, a large number of lawsuits were filed regarding the legality of Korean medicine doctors using medical devices; approximately 20 final judgments or decisions were made. Among them, only two cases determined that Korean medicine doctors could legally use medical devices. Conclusion: The decisions in both cases could be interpreted as the judgments that Korean medicine doctors were allowed to use a medical device whose use or operating principles were commonly incorporated with Korean medical principles. That was provided that training was sufficient in the use of the medical device, to the extent that it could be used and that such use of the medical device was not feared to pose a health hazard.

Purpose This study collects the issues about work-life balance in Korea and United States and suggests the specific plans for work-life balance by the comparison and analysis. The objective of this study is to contribute to the improvement of people's life quality by understanding the concept of work-life balance that has become the issue recently and offering the detailed plans to be considered in respect of individual, corporate and governmental level for society of work-life balance. Design/methodology/approach This study collects work-life balance related issues through recruit sites in Korea and United States, compares and analyzes the collected data from the results of three text mining techniques such as LDA topic modeling, term frequency analysis and keyword extraction analysis. Findings According to the text mining results, this study shows that it is important to build corporate culture that support work-life balance in free organizational atmosphere especially in Korea. It also appears that there are the differences against whether work-life balance can be achieved and recognition and satisfaction about work-life balance along type of company or sort of working. In case of United States, it shows that it is important for them to work more efficiently by raising teamwork level among team members who work together as well as the role of the leaders who lead the teams in the organization. It is also significant for the company to provide their employees with the opportunity of education and training that enables them to improve their individual capability or skill. Furthermore, it suggests the roles of individuals, company and government and specific plans based on the analysis of text mining results in both countries.
