A Wireless Traffic Load-Balancing Algorithm based on Adaptive Bandwidth Reservation Scheme in Mobile Cellular Networks (셀룰러 망에서 적응적 대역폭 예약 기법을 이용한 무선 트래픽 부하 균형 알고리즘)

  • For very large multimedia traffic to be supported successfully in wireless network environment, it is necessary to provide Quality-of-Service(QoS) guarantees between mobile hosts(clients). In order to guarantee the Qos, we have to keep the call blocking probability below target value during handoff session. However, the QoS negotiated between the client and the network may not be guaranteed due to lack of available channels for traffic in the new cell, since mobile clients should be able to continue their on-going sessions. In this paper we propose a efficient load-balancing algorithm based on the adaptive bandwidth reservation scheme for enlarging available channels in a cell. We design a new method to predict the mobility of clients using MPT(mobility profile table). This method is then used to reserve a part of bandwidths for handoff calls to its adjacent cells and this reserved bandwidth can be used for handoff call prior to new connection requests. If the number of free channels is also under a low threshold value, our scheme use a load-balancing algorithm with a adaptive bandwidth reservation. In order to evaluate the performance of our algorithm, we measure the metrics such as the blocking probability of new calls and dropping probability of handoff calls, and compare with other existing schemes.

  • The expansion of the physical road in response to changes in social conditions and policy of the country has reached the limit. In order to alleviate congestion on the existing road to reconsider the effectiveness of this method should be asking. Currently, how to collect traffic information for management of the intersection is limited to point detection systems. Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) was the traffic information collection system of point detection method such as through video and loop detector in the past. However, intelligent transportation systems of the next generation(C-ITS) has evolved rapidly in real time interval detection system of collecting various systems between the pedestrian, road, and car. Therefore, this study is designed to evaluate the development of an algorithm for queue length based real-time traffic signal control methodology. Four coordinates estimate on time-space diagram using the travel time each individual vehicle collected via the interval detector. Using the coordinate value estimated during the cycle for estimating the velocity of the shock wave the queue is created. Using the queue length is estimated, and determine the signal timing the total queue length is minimized at intersection. Therefore, in this study, it was confirmed that the calculation of the signal timing of the intersection queue is minimized.

  • A computer algorithm is presented that evaluate the performance of coordinated signal timing plans for the signalized arterials. The procedures calculating delay and stops are based on Michalopoulos's analytical model derived from shock wave theory. The delay-offset relationship predicted from the algorithm produced consistent results with the delays venerated by TRANSYT-7F. From performance test, the delays estimated using the proposed a1gorithm are shown to be sensitive to the quality of progression as well as to traffic demand, link length, and turning flow ratio from upstream signal.

  • 전자교통신호등은 차량이 교차로에 많을 때에는 교통신호주기를 연장할 수 있고, 교차로에 차량이 적을 경우에는 교통신호주기를 단축할 수 있다. 그러나, 요즈음과 같이 교통체증이 많아서 평균주행속도가 10Km-20Km일 때에는 전자신호등의 기능을 수행할 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 퍼지 규칙을 이용하여 최단경로검색 및 최적 녹색시간 알고리즘을 제안한다. 컴퓨터 모의실험결과 앞 막힘 현상이 발생하는 경우에는 평균 승용차 대기시간 및 평균주행속도를 10%-32% 가량 개선시킬 수 있음을 입증하였다.

  • This work discusses simulation results for the fuzzy logic controller tested the project“Fuzzy Ramp Metering Algorithm Implementation.”The performance objectives were, in order of priority, to maximize total vehicle-miles, maximize mainline speeds, and minimize delay per vehicle while maintaining an acceptable ramp queue. In the fuzzy logic controller, the sensors from the on-ramps were helpful in maintaining reasonable ramp queue and mainline congestion because it considered these factors simultaneously. Each metered ramp had a parameter input file, which allowed the controller to be modified without recompiling the software. Consequently, maintenance costs should be minimal.

  • In this paper, the method of controlling velocity between joining vehicles at the point of bottleneck using information and communications technology of WAVE method based V2V and V2I are proposed for the driving with high fuel efficiency. Using the derived fuel-efficiency comparative analysis model, it was shown that the proposed method's fuel efficiency is better than traffic light method demanding periodically vehicle's stop. Also, this method provides the derivation algorithm for deceleration and acceleration for controlling velocity between vehicles approaching bottleneck area.

Link Performance of an CDMA-Based Time-of-Flight Ranging by Using LED Visible Light

  • The use of ranging sensors on automobiles is becoming common with the desire of traffic safety by providing drivers the information of the relative distance between the vehicles. In this paper, the LED visible light ranging system different from the conventional ranging systems using the RF signal is investigated. For such a system, we propose a novel ranging algorithm which combines the time-of-flight (TOF) with the CDMA technology. Via the CDMA technology, the TOF ranging system can accurately distinguish the desired ranging signal from the visible light interferences of the neighbor vehicles. In addition, the proposed system can also overcome the light noise from other luminaries, i.e. sun-light, traffic-light, and so on. The simulation results show that the CDMA-based LED ranging system has a significant improvement for the ranging accuracy compared with the case without employing the CDMA.

  • In this paper, we proposed indoor positioning system using RSS(Received Signal Strength) positioning method and TSS(Transmission Signal Strength). The main point in the paper is to improve reliability of accuracy positioning with the area recognition algorithm and probabilistic algorithm, which can be effectively used indoor. In the test in 1-dimensional or 2-dimensional spaces, also we checked effective positioning system considered environment of propagation that is changed by reflection, refraction and multipath in according to space form. It is necessary to find place where urgent situation happen and quickly to respond the situation for patients or the weak. Therefore, we expect the positioning system proposed can apply to the field of traffic IT.

  • By increased moving speed of aircraft, estimating location of itself becomes more important than ever. This requirement is satisfied by appearance of GPS, however it is useless when signal reception from satellite is not good enough by interruption, for example, traffic jamming. Applying link for communication to additional positioning system is capable of providing relative position of aircraft. Estimating location with link for communication is done without additional equipment but with signal processing based on correlation of received signal. ESPRIT is one of the representative algorithm among them. Estimating correlation matrix is possible to have error since it includes average operation needs enough number of samples not impractical. Therefore we propose algorithm that defines, estimates and removes error matrix of correlation. Proposing algorithm shows better performance than previous one when transmitters are close.

  • This study develops a fusion priority signal control algorithm to pass without delay in emergency events. Fusion priority signal control is method combined center control with local control. The center control method applies signal times for each signalized intersection on the emergency vehicle's route when an emergency call is received. As signals are controlled before the emergency vehicle leaves for its destination, it is possible to clear the queues at each intersection more effectively. However, since the traffic information (speed, position) of the real-time emergency vehicle is not used, the intersection arrival time predicted by center control and actual arrival time of the emergency vehicle may be different from each other. In the case, it is possible to experience a delay caused by the signal. Local control method operate priority signal use the real-time information of EV, but there is a limitation that queue elimination time can not be reflected. In this study, fusion(center+local) control algorithm is proposed to compensate the disadvantages of center and local control also maximizing its advantages. Proposed algorithm is expected to decrease delay time of EV in emergency situation.
