  • There is the uncertain period of the construction in case of the products meeting the quality standard of KS M 6080, the quality is degraded because of the abrasive loss of the paint caused by vehicle tires as the traffic amount increases and of the loss and detachment of the glass beads providing the retroreflective function. The abrupt degradation of visibility causes the high frequency of traffic accidents at night and increases the traffic accident rate. Additional supplementary construction induces the direct material and construction costs. As the more cost induction effect than the direct cost, the traffic jam caused by the additional construction increases the indirect social costs such as time cost and vehicle cost. Hence, the study is concerned with performing the abrasion resistance test based on the EN 1436 standard to check and improve the quality of various road marking materials resulting in improving the durability of road marking materials. However, even though the difference in the durability lifetime of resins(binders) is bibliographically or theoretically clear, there was no difference in the durability lifetime (retroreflectivity aspect) of the road marking paint using these binders. The reason is that the bonding of beads was very insufficient or that the cross density caused by crack or freshness was low. Moreover, the measured wet retroreflectivity was distributed as the Rw3 or higher class in average on the basis of EN 1436 but was very insufficient on the basis of the minimum wet threshold retroreflectivity with 100mcd/($m^2{\cdot}lx$) managed overseas.

  • IPTV Services that is representative union service of broadcasting and telecommunication need guarantee of QoS, efficiency of multicasting, and hish bandwidth on the network. Because typical TDM based metro transport network was designed by transporting fixed voice traffic with stable and recovering method, it has a defect of bottleneck and a waste of bandwidth for acceptance of data traffic with burst feature and then all of data are treated equally at the transport network because it cannot classify between advanced high end service and best effort low end service. for completely resolving this kind of problem about increasing burst traffic and QoS issues, firstly we need to new design for transport network. This paper presents transformation method from TDM based metro transport network to packet based transport network and advantage and effectiveness of packet based transport network and also indicates technical factor and characters about method of packet transport system. As a result of research, the Packet Transport System, which is a transmission network for packet delivery, take in not only a specific character of legacy TDM but QoS, Multicast and high bandwidth, then, it is able to keep an effective bandwidth and a stabilized performance of packet transmissions. Additionally, if a fault be occurred on an optical link, the system is able to guarantee a differential QoS by an each service class using an algorithm to make certain of a traffic existence and contain a protective mechanism.

  • The ABR service class provides feedback based traffic control to transport bursty data traffic efficiently. Feedback based congestion control has first been studied to be applied to unicast connections. Recently. several congestion control algorithms for multicast connections have also been proposed as the number of ABR applications requiring multicast increases. With feedback based congestion control, the effectiveness of a traffic control scheme diminishes as propagation delay increases. Especially for a multicast connection, a remote destination may suffer unfair service compared to a local destination due to the delayed feedback. Amelioration of the disadvantages caused by feedback delay is therefore more important for remote destinations in multicast connections. This paper proposes a new switch behavior to provide effective feedback based mathc control for rentoh destinations. The proposed switches adjust the service rate dynamically in accordance woth the state of the downstream, that is, the congestion of the destinaion is immediately controlled by the nearest apstream switch before the source to ramp down the transmission rate of the connection. The proposed switch has an implementation overhead to have a separate buffer for each VC to adjust the service rate in accordance with a backward Rm cell of each VC. The buffer requirement id also increased at intermediate switches. Simulation results show that the proposed switch reduces the cell loss rate in both the local and the remote destinations and slso amelioratd the between the two destinations.

  • Buses, one of the representative public transportation modes, are divided into a vareity of service types according to the purpose of operation, operating distance, and management agencies. Although bus-involved crashes may cause large amount of damage due to the higher number of passengers boarded on a bus, prior research has little focused on crash severity according to bus service types. This study aims to investigate factors influencing crash severity in bus-involved crashes and to present policy implications to reduce crash severity by bus service type. To do this, bus-involved crash data from the Traffic Accident Analysis System (TAAS) during five-year period are used. Ordered probit models for three types of bus service, i.e., city bus, suburban and express buses, and charter buses, are estimated to analyze the factors of accident severity. The results show that there are significant differences of factors affecting crash severity among the types of bus services while speed and road surface influence all the types of buses. In case of local buses, time of day, roadway alignment, and installation of a traffic signal are found to be statistically significant factors. Seat belt and road class have significant effects on injury severity of the intercity and express buses. Chartered buses have time of day, driving experience, seatbelt, traffic signal, and day of week as the significant factors. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the reduction of the crash severity by each bus service type.

  • Recently viruses and various hacking tools that threat hosts on a network becomes more intelligent and cleverer, and so the various security mechanisms against them have ken developed during last decades. To detect these network attacks, many NIPSs(Network-based Intrusion Prevention Systems) that are more functional than traditional NIDSs are developed by several companies and organizations. But, many previous NIPSS are hewn to have some weakness in protecting important hosts from network attacks because of its incorrectness and post-management aspects. The aspect of incorrectness means that many NIPSs incorrectly discriminate between normal and attack network traffic in real time. The aspect of post-management means that they generally respond to attacks after the intrusions are already performed to a large extent. Therefore, to detect network attacks in realtime and to increase the capability of analyzing packets, faster and more active responding capabilities are required for NIPS frameworks. In this paper, we propose a framework for real-time intrusion prevention. This framework consists of packet filtering component that works on netfilter in Linux kernel and traffic control component that have a capability of step-by-step control over abnormal network traffic with the CBQ mechanism.

  • In this study, we installed the Automatic Identification System (AIS) receiver on the Ieodo Ocean Research Station (IORS) from November 21 to 30, 2013 in order to monitor marine traffic and fishery activity in the jurisdictional sea area. The collected AIS raw data consist of static data report (MMSI, IMO NO., Call Sign, Ship Name, etc.) and position information report (position, speed, course, etc.), and the developed program was applied to classify ships according to ship flag and type information. The nationalities are released from the first three-digit numbers (MID) of MMSI, but in general most of small ships do not send an exact ship flag through Class B type AIS, a simplified and low-power equipment. From AIS data with flag information, ships under the flag of China had the highest frequency and the second was Korean flag, while in ship type cargo and fishing vessels were dominant in sequence. As for the ships without flag information, we compared the tracks with others in order to estimate ship flags. It can be said that fleets of ships with Chinese frequently appear sail together for fisheries over the waters, because the unknown ships followed a similar moving pattern with Chinese fishing vessels.

  • Recently, there are increasing needs to provide sufficient information on road signs for expanding cities and traffic networks. Improving efficiency of direction guidance information from road signs not only requires criteria for but also systematic approach to selecting place names that appear on road sings. As such, this paper looks at road direction information from existing road signs that leads to Suwon and investigates whether the current system of road sings provides efficient, systematic and continuous direction information for road users to easily reach their destination. In this paper, Suwon's city hall is set up as the final destination, which is linked from five other cities, Euiwang, Ansan, Hwaseong, Osan and Yongin. The paper attempts to find out whether there is continuity and suitable number of road signs for direction information by analyzing the road signs between these 5 cities and Suwon with respect to direction, direction advance notice and direction guidance. It is found that road users cannot easily find the needed information on their destination from the existing road signs and that continuity of selected place names that systematically appear on road signs is insufficiency. That is to say, the findings of the paper are that while it is easy for road users to find place names that are classified under land marks or the first-class selection of place names on road signs, it is difficult to obtain information from road signs on place names that are grouped under the second or third class. In addition, direction guidance on road signs is problematic, because the appearance frequency of road signs is not adequate and the continuity of road signs is not effective. Moreover, there is insufficient information on local direction guidance for immediate destinations on road signs with respect to turning left or right or going straight. Hence road signs in urban area need systematic improvement to find easily some destination.

  • To investigate the effect of aircraft traffic emissions on soil pollution, metal levels were analyzed for 8 metals (Fe, Cr, Pb, Zn, Cu, Ni, Mn and Cd) from the vicinity of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport in Delhi, India. The texture of the airport soil was observed to be sandy. Among the metals, Cd showed minimum concentration ($2.07{\mu}g\;g^{-1}$), while Fe showed maximum concentration ($4379{\mu}g\;g^{-1}$). The highest metal accumulation was observed at the landing site. Significant correlations were observed between metals and different textures (sand, silt, and clay) as well as with organic carbon (OC). The results indicate that grain size play a major role in OC retention in soil and subsequently helps in adsorption of metals in soil. M$\ddot{u}$ller's geoaccumulation index (I-geo) showed that airport soil was contaminated due to Cd and Pb with the pollution class 2 and 1, respectively. Pollution load index of the airport site was 1.34-3 times higher than the background site. The results of factor analysis suggested that source of the soil metal is mainly from natural weathering of soil, aircraft exhaust, and automobile exhaust from near by area. With respect to Dutch target values, the airport soils showed ~3 times higher Cd concentration. The study highlighted the future risk of enhanced metal pollution with respect to Cd and Pb due to aircraft trafficking.

  • Since beginning of subway construction in 1974, for supplying the demand for increasing urban traffic and solving the traffic jam due to expansion of society and elevation of an individual income, the $1^{st}\;and\;2^{nd}$ construction have been almost done and $3^{rd}$ has been driving forward. However, according to an increment of com-mon usage with the passage of time, structures are superannuated and the amount of improvement and repairs keeps on increasing continuous. And many problems are taking place at underground space because of new constructions for underground facilities such as urban gas, electric power, waterworks, and sewerage. In consequence. The consideration of a counterplan for safety is required deeply This study analyzed problems on maintenance of structure about $1^{st}$ class subway, and will present means that a manage civil structures scientifically and systematically by using GSIS concept that imported into several organizations for facility management recently as making digital graphic elements and historic data into a database rather than using an old method - documents and paper drawings.
