팔공산(八公山) 동화사(桐華寺)의 풍수(風水) 및 가람배치( 伽藍配置)의 특징(特徵) (A study on the location of Donghwa temple from feng-shui perspective)

  • 본 연구는 팔공산의 지형적인 특성을 반영하는 동화사(桐華寺)의 입지와 가람배치의 풍수지리적 특성을 밝히는 것이다. 동화사의 풍수지리적인 특성에 대한 해석과 연구는 향후 동화사의 토지이용이나 건물의 증 개축, 진입로의 개설, 가람의 변경 유지 등에 참고할 수 있는 기초적 자료를 제공할 것으로 생각된다. 동화사는 산과 물이 에워싸인 지세로 풍수지리적인 조건을 잘 갖추고 있는 곳으로 종교적 장소성을 확보하기에 용이한 조건을 갖추었다. 봉황과 관련된 안온한 지세와 어울리게 가람이 배치되었으며, 봉황을 상징하는 시설물들이 누각과 문, 비에 남아있고, 대나무와 오동나무가 많이 식재(植栽)되어 있다. 동화사의 중심공간이 잘 부각되고, 사찰의 경역(境域)을 청정하게 유지하기 위해 주 진입로의 복원, 주차장의 폐쇄, 새로운 진입로의 개설 등과 같은 방안을 제안하였다.

토함산 불국사의 공간인식특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Cognitive Factors of the Space in Pulkuksa Temple at Tohamsan Mountain)

  • To analyze in detail the cognitive factors in the sense of place in Korea traditional temples and their occurrence and significance, the questionaring was conducted about the actual condition of visitor's using of and preference for Pulkuksa Temple as an object of the investigation. The result from the analysis of the visitors' sense of respective factors forming the image of the temple is as follows: 1. While the male visitors for outnumbered the female, the female visitors are more satisfied with the senses of the temple than male. The younger visitors are larger in number while the older visitors have the more satisfaction. It took the largest number of the visitors at least three hours to come to the temple. The most numerous are the visitors who came to the temple. The most numerous are the visitors who came to the temple by their own cars. The visitors are coming not only from the Kyunsang Provinces but from all over the country and they made a family trip to the temple. 2. 86 people among the questionees replied that the Tower stands best for Pulkuksa temple. The second largest number of the questionees replied that the main sanctuary does. The third largest number of the questionees replied that the natural environment does. 3. The visitors who came to the temple for sightseeing showed their highest preferences for each of the main sanctuary and the tower. The buddhist visitors also showed the same tendency as non Buddhist ones in their preference. 4. On the whole, the space factors such as buildings and scenes which represent Pulkuksa Temple are the towers such as Sukka Tower and Tabo Tower, the sanctuary buildings such as main sanctuary, the natural scenery such as Toham Mountain, and the steps such as Chungwun-Kyo and Paekwun-Kyo. 5. The potential factors to explain the structural characteristics of the scenery in Pulkuksa Temple are revealed to be a factor of overall valuation, of orderliness, of individuality and of comfortableness, through hypothetical. T.V was 54.1% and the orderliness of Sukkatap was highly evaluated in factor score analysis.

전통사찰 보존지의 가치 및 평가지표 도출 - 심층인터뷰, 포커스 그룹 인터뷰, 쌍체비교를 중심으로 - (Development of the Values and Assessment Indicators of Traditional Temple Area - Focused on In-depth Interview, Focus Group Interview, and Pairwise Comparison -)

  • 유산보존에 대한 세계적 추세를 보면 유산의 궁극적인 보존대상을 "가치"로 정의하고 가치 중심 관리계획을 수립하고 있다. 우리나라 전통사찰 보존지는 대부분 1000년이 넘게 지속되어온 지역으로, 문화, 종교, 자연이 어우러진 복합유산이다. 따라서 전통사찰 보존지의 관리는 이러한 다양한 가치를 보존하기 위한 가치 중심 관리계획에 의해 수행되어야 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 전통사찰 보존지의 가치와 지표를 도출하고 중요도를 평가하여 전통사찰 보존지의 가치보존에 기여할 수 있는 기본 자료를 구축하는 것이다. 이를 위해서 문헌조사, 현장답사, 다양한 이해당사자들에 대한 심층인터뷰, 포커스 그룹 인터뷰, 설문조사를 활용하여 전통사찰 보존지의 가치와 지표를 도출하고 중요도 평가가 수행되었다. 전통사찰 보존지의 가치와 지표는 상위, 중위, 하위 계층으로 구분된다. 상위계층은 본질적 가치와 이용적 가치로 구분되며, 중위계층은 본질적 가치를 설명하는 5개 중위가치(종교 및 인문, 역사, 문화, 환경 및 생태, 경관가치)와 이용적 가치를 설명하는 5개 중위가치(사회, 교육, 관광, 치유, 경제가치)로 구성되었다. 하위계층으로 10개 중위가치를 설명하는 102개 지표가 도출되었다. 가치와 지표에 대한 중요도 평가에는 불교계 30명과 국립공원관리공단 30명이 참여하였으며, 상위가치와 중위가치의 평가에는 쌍체비교가, 지표의 평가에는 5점 등간척도가 사용되었다. 평가결과를 보면 이용적 가치가 본질적 가치보다 더 중요하게 평가되고 있으며, 종교인문가치, 경관가치, 환경생태가치, 경제가치, 관광가치에 대한 중요도가 다른 중위가치들보다 더 높게 평가되고 있었다. 지표에 대한 평가를 보면 두 집단 간 차이가 나타나고 있어, 전통사찰의 다양한 가치에 대한 국립공원 관리공단의 인식이 낮음을 알 수 있다. 이러한 평가결과에 근거하여 전통사찰 보존지 관리에 대한 개선사항이 제시되었다.

향교(鄕校)와 서원(書院)의 제례(祭禮)에 따른 제수(祭需)에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Ritual Foods according to Various Sacrificial Rituals in the Hyangkyo and the Seowon)

  • 1. Both the festival held in Confucian temple to honor Confucius or a religious ceremony in Korean traditional lecture-hall are the sacrificial rituals which is the mark of the respect for prescholars and these rituals has been followed the rules written in the book,'Yaegi' 2. For the Food formal display for the festival in Confusian temple of Chinese Gukjagam, Pebak(clothes), Mohyul(hair and blood), and the ritual food dishes, such as Byun 10, Doo 10, Gang 3 (Deung 1, Hyung 2), Bo 2, Cue 2, Jo 3 (Taeraeu as beef dish 1, Soraeu as sheep and pork dishes 2), Joo(alcohol) 3 were displayed, while in Juhyunhak, Byun 8, Doo 8 were displayed. In Taesangji edited around in 1873 in Korea, for the Confucian shrine Pebak, Mohyul, Byun 10, Doo 10, Deung 3, Hyung 3, Bo 2, Cue 2, Jo 6 (raw 3, cooked 3), Joo 3 were displayed. In pedantry Confucian temple, Pebak, Byun 8, Doo 8, Bo 2, Cue 2, Jo 2 (raw sheep and pork), Joo 3 were displayed while Mohyul was omitted, which this type of display was almost identical through the nationwide survery for the Confucian food display. Some of the Confucian food display, most of the display for Bo and Cue have been changed to Bo 1 and Cue 1, and one fifth of the Confucian display for Byun and Doo also has been changed in the numbers and food varieties. 3. In most of the sacrificial ritual food display in the Korean traditional lecture-hall, Pebak (some not applicable), Byun 4, Doo 4, Bo 1, Cue 1, Jo 1 (raw), Joo 1 were displayed. In these days, the number of the Confucian temple where the sacrificial rituals is not held, has been increased. 4. For the names of food for the Byun and Doo dishes, mostly the old names are used, however, minor changes in materials and cooking method have been found.

백제(百濟) 목탑지(木塔地) 편년(編年)과 축기부(軸基部) 축조기법(築造技法)에 관한 연구(硏究) (A study on the Chronological Recordings and construction method of Wooden Pagoda Sites of Baekjae)

  • The wooden pagoda sites which have been confirmed in Baekjae's former territory so far have flattened surface of the earth or foundation pert made by digging up the earth. In particular, the latter is found more often in the pagoda sites of Baekjae, which is essential and absolutely necessary because of the characteristics of pagoda structure. The wooden pagoda sites with foundation part made by digging up the earth under the stylobate are found at Yongjeongli ruined temple site of Woongjin area, and at Neung-sa temple site, Wangheung-sa temple site, Geumgang-sa temple site, and Mireuk-sa temple site of Sabi period. They are also observed at Hwanglyong-sa nine-storied wooden pagoda of Shilla and at Biin five-storied stone pagoda of early Goryeo. They are important data improving that the construction technologies of Baekjae continued to be applied to build stone or wooden pagodas, transcending time and space. Recently, the site assumed as a wood pagoda site of Hanseong area was examined in Gyeongdang sect ion of Pungnap mud fortification. If this is proved to be a real wooden pagoda site, this digging-up construction technology of foundation part ann be concluded to be a traditional engineering technology of Baekjae which was frequently used from Hanseong period to Sabi period. On the other hand, this digging-up construction technology of foundation part has been found only at pagoda sites and main building sites of temple ruins, and it helps examine their symbolism.

국가 브랜드 사업으로서 템플스테이 고부가가치 전략을 위한 문화상품 디자인콘텐츠 개발 - 불전사물 중 운판을 중심으로 - (Development of the Cultural Product Design Contents for High Value Added Strategy of Temple Stay as National Brand Project - Based on cloud-shaped gong among the Bulgeonsamul -)

  • This study provides suggestions of cultural product design contents by using the cloud-shaped gong in traditional temple culture in order to find a high value-added approach. The research herein is part of cultural design contents projects embedded with the spiritual value and symbolic connotation of temple culture. This would be meaningful to enhance its degree of utilization. This can also be a way to find a strategic alternative to a high value addition of temple stay and dissemination of temple culture. For the research methodology, literature was reviewed over temple stay and Bulgeonsamul. For motive design and development of cultural product design, both Adobe Illustrator CS3 and Adobe Photoshop CS3 were used as computer design program. The template image of cloud-shaped gong for basic motive design was selected from those available at the domestic temples for accurate depiction of its head and body. Finally, samples were adopted from those temples of Gounsa, Songgwangsa, Guinsa, Hwaeomsa, and Naesosa. For each motive, different colors were applied and ten basic motives were practiced in total. By repeating the process for these motives, three types of textile design were prepared. T-shirt designs used a round neckline as basic form, and it was designed for sleeved and sleeveless styles. Apron designs stressed V-neckline and two types were processed: one for the back seam line and the other for side seam line. Pendants were designed with modern and luxurious image so that so that it could be used in various types of accessories. Designs for the bedding applied pattern design of the motives and this was done in a way that gave the images a sense of stability and splendor.

18~19세기 사찰벽화에 사용된 안료 비교 고찰 (Comparative Study on the Pigments Applied on the Wall Paintings of Temple in 18~19C)

  • 이 연구에서는 사찰벽화에 사용된 안료에 대한 성분 분석 자료들을 종합, 비교하여 조선 후기 사찰 벽화에 사용된 채색재료의 특징을 고찰하였다. 연구대상은 ED-XRF를 이용한 분석자료로 전국의 8개 사찰벽화 61점에 대한 것이다. 이들 벽화의 제작 시기는 대체로 18~19세기에 해당한다. 벽화 채색층의 색상은 대략 7가지 계통으로 분류되며, 백색은 Pb, Fe, 육색은 Pb, Ca, 황색은 Fe, 적색은 Fe, Pb, Hg, 녹색은 Cu, Fe, 청색은 As, Co가 검출되었고, 흑색에서는 색상원소가 검출되지 않았다. 자료들을 비교 분석해 본 결과 조선후기 경상도와 전라도 소재 사찰벽화에 사용된 안료들은 그 종류에 있어 시기나 지역적인 차이가 크게 관찰되지 않았다. 한편, 동종 안료라도 채색부위의 위치에 따라 다른 색상과의 혼색에 차이가 관찰되었다. 이것은 사찰벽화에서 선호되는 색상표현방식이나 안료의 귀천에 따라 그림에서의 위치(주제부와 주변부)에 따른 용도가 달랐음을 시사한다. 이러한 결과는 향후 비파괴 분석법을 이용한 사찰벽화 분석자료를 이해하는 데 참고자료로서 활용될 것으로 기대된다.

신라석탑(新羅石塔)의 발생과 성립과정(成立過程)에 대한 고찰 (A Study on the Creation and Development Process of Silla Stone Pagodas)

  • This study aims to examine the development process of the early stone pagodas of Unified Silla. The history of stone pagodas traces back to both Baekje and Silla in the Three Kingdoms period, but the styles and structures of pagodas began differently. In other words, Baekje attempted to recreate the wooden pagoda style, while Silla attempted to recreate China' brick pagoda style. These different stone pagoda cultures, around the unification of Three Kingdoms, underwent new style changes, and after the mid-7th century, some changes in the five-storied stone pagodas in Tapri appeared, and the milestone perfection of Silla's stone pagodas was achieved through those of Gameusa Temple and Goseonsa Temple. After the mid-7th century, Silla's stone pagodas accommodated some of Baekje's wooden pagodas' elements, shifted from the wooden pagoda style and developed into its own stone pagoda style. This is shown in numerous stone pagodas. However, in Silla's stone pagodas, including the three-storied stone pagoda in Hwagboksa Temple in 692, the size of the pagoda became small and underwent sudden changes. In other words, a new direction of Silla stone pagodas was presented in terms of how massive stones could be reduced, but they differed only in the reduced stone amount; the basic developed style of the Gameunsa Temple stone pagoda and the Goseonsa Temple stone pagoda inherited the traditional style. Thus, the construction of these two pagodas is considered to be significant in the Silla's history of stone pagodas.

마곡사 대웅보전의 잔향특성 (The Reverberation Characteristics of 'Magoksa Daeungbojeon')

  • The reverberation characteristics of the Korean Traditional buildings aren't well-known, but there could be many particular properties. In this study, we compare the reverberation characteristics of a Korean traditional building of a temple, ‘Magoksa’, with three modern buildings. We use 5 parameters which have been widely studied in architectural acoustics such as reverberation time, early decay time, clarity, initial-time delay gap and R/D ratio.
