  • Recently, traceability systems are introduced as a new food safety information system. To trace food products efficiently, they must have an automatic identification capability at the individual product level. This capability can be gained through RFID technology. But there is not yet any performance evaluation tool on RFID-based traceability systems (RFID-TS). This study developed an evaluation tool of RFID-TS. To develop the tool, this study considered the objective and the components of RFID-TS as their performance constructs. According to Churchill's paradigm, the tool was established through two stages. The final evaluation tool consisted of four constructs (risk, operational benefits, IS (information system), and network) and nine sub-constructs. Among the four constructs, risk and IS were found as the most important performance constructs through regression analysis. Among the nine sub-constructs, service (which belonged to the IS construct) and economic risk (which belonged to the risk construct) were found as the most important performance sub-constructs.

  • Some of the information created during the design phase of an New NPP life cycle is useful only for the execution of the construction phase; however, much of the information greatly impacts the longer-term operational phase. To most make use of design and construction information produced by data based design system during the construction and operation phase, This research is identified controlled data and drawn design information of controlled equipment from documents generated during the life-cycle stages. This study aimed to analyze related documents to assure traceability of controlled equipment from design phase through O&M and then suggested DB(Data Base) based control method on technical information of major equipment throughout nuclear power plant lifecycle.

  • In this paper, a cultivation traceability system to implement smart agriculture developed and implemented, and in particular, devised a system that manages the cultivation traceability of grains that are difficult to grow in smart farms. Mobile and web programs based on smart devices are designed, and the collected information is stored in a DB server and can be used as big data. In addition, real-time location information and agricultural activity information can be matched using an electronic map(Vworld) based on GIS/LBS applying GPS of a mobile device. By designing the cultivation traceability information DB required in the field, the farmhouse, farmers, and cultivation information were developed to make it easy for managers to use, and implemented mobile and web programs in the field. The system is expected to raise the quality and safety management capabilities to the next level in response to variables such as labor saving effect and climate change.

  • A set of definitions for traceability and quick recall service function were urgently needed to facilitate handling of events threatening food safety caused by livestock diseases or germ contaminations. However, the research on the unified management system for both international and domestic livestock products distribution was scarce. The livestock products traceability evaluation model proposed in the paper was composed of four modules: the Forward Transaction Trace (FTT) module, the Backward Record Trace (BRT) module, the Forward Product Trace (FPT) module, and the Origin Pedigree (OP) module. The evaluation indexes for each module was included and finally a pilot system evaluating the proposed management model was suggested and displayed. The result of the paper was expected to be a solution to the distributed traceability system and the proposed traceability management model could be expected to any food traceability.

  • At present, DevOps environments are getting popular in software organizations due to better collaboration and software productivity over traditional software process models. Software artefacts in DevOps environments are vulnerable to frequent changes at any phase of the software development life cycle that create a continuous integration continuous delivery pipeline. Therefore, software artefact traceability management is challenging in DevOps environments due to the continual artefact changes; often it makes the artefacts to be inconsistent. The existing software traceability related research shows limitations such as being limited to few types of artefacts, lack of automation and inability to cope with continuous integrations. This paper attempts to overcome those challenges by providing traceability support for heterogeneous artefacts in DevOps environments using a prototype named SAT-Analyser. The novel contribution of this work is the proposed traceability process model consists of artefact change detection, change impact analysis, and change propagation. Moreover, this tool provides multi-user accessibility and is integrated with a prominent DevOps tool stack to enable collaborations. The case study analysis has shown high accuracy in SAT-Analyser generated results and have obtained positive feedback from industry DevOps practitioners for its efficacy.

  • Beef traceability systems help prevent the distribution of Hanwoo (Korean native cattle) meat as imported beef. In particular, assigning a traceability number to each cattle can provide all information regarding the purchased Hanwoo meat to the consumers. In the present study, a DNA identity test was conducted on 344 samples of Hanwoo meat from large livestock product stores in Seoul between 2021 and 2022 to determine the authenticity of important label information, such as the traceability number. Traceability number mismatch was confirmed in 45 cases (13.1%). The mismatch rate decreased to 11.3% in 2022 from 14.7% in 2021, and the mismatch rate was higher in the northern region (16.9%) than in the southern region (10.2%). In addition, of the six brands, B and D showed satisfactory traceability system management, whereas E and A showed poor traceability system management, with significant differences (P<0.001). The actual traceability number confirmation rate was only 53.9% among the mismatch samples. However, examination of the authenticity of label information of the samples within the identified range revealed false marking in the order of the traceability number (13.1%), sex (2.9%), slaughterhouse name (2.2%), and grade (1.6%); no false marking of breed (Hanwoo) was noted. To prevent the distribution of erroneously marked livestock products, the authenticity of label information must be determined promptly. Therefore, a legal basis must be established mandating the filling of a daily work sheet, including the traceability number of beef, in partial meat subdivisions. Our findings can be used as reference data to guide the management direction of traceability systems for ensuring transparency in the distribution of livestock products.

  • Traceability targets provision of information to stakeholders required for analyzing impacts among artifacts due to changes. Unlike single product development, in software product line developing the family of products the complexity of maintaining and managing traceability between two life cycles, domain and application engineering is so high. Accordingly, variability traceability management approach centred on orthogonal variability model that manages variability separated from development artifacts has been conceptually proposed, but its efficiency has not verified yet. This paper verifies whether orthogonal variability model based traceability can provide required traceability through an example. As the results, the OVM-based variability tracing method supports well to narrow down artifacts affected by the changes. However, the method does not support tracing the exact artifacts or exact part of an artifact affected by the change.

  • Software requirements are continuously changed for various reasons, consequently changes of software are inevitable. In the case of changes necessitated by changes in requirements, it is necessary to precisely predict the ripple effects of the changes for efficient management of the changes. This paper proposes the management method of traceability information, which can be applied in object-oriented development. Furthermore, we introduce the guidelines for prediction of the ripple effects of changes based on traceability information among artifacts composing a system. We identify traceability items for the essential artifacts which were composed of the object-oriented system, and define relationships among them. The purpose of the method proposed in this paper is to identify the scope of change precisely through the guidelines. These can then be used for tracing and analyzing the impact of the changes both the forward and backward looking, based on the relationships of traceability items.

  • As software development technology evolves, the quality of software has increased. But software created through sophisticated technology is still defective. The developer will be aware of the defect through a bug report and the reported defect must be fixed as soon as possible for the software to function correctly. It is important to know which component of the program is related to the reported defect and should be fixed. However, even though the developer understands the developed software, the task of tracing faults is a time-consuming task and requires effort. Therefore, if there is a way for developers to support tracing faults, they could fix defects more quickly. Because fixing defects rapidly is a factor of software reliability, fault traceability is essential and an effective method is needed. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a model-based fault traceability enhancement technique by using bug report and commit information and verify the effectiveness of the proposed technique.

  • Modern software, especially web-based software, is broadly used in various fields. Most web applications employ design patterns, such as a model-view-controller (MVC) pattern and a factory pattern as development technology, so the application can have a good architecture to facilitate maintenance and productivity. A web application, however, may have defects and developers must fix the defects when a user submits bug reports. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to improving fault traceability in web application by using software revision information and software behavior model to reduce costs and effectively handle the software defect. We also provide a case study to show effectiveness of our approach.
