  • This study sought to identify the types of fashion brands preferred by tourists based on the shopping values that they pursue through purchases at tourist destinations and to verify the effects of these values on their satisfaction. To obtain a representative sample of South Korea's tourist shoppers, a survey was conducted among 300 subjects involving adult men and women in their twenties to sixties. Structural equation modeling analyses were performed on the collected data using SPSS and AMOS. The effects of tourist shopping values on brand attitudes were verified by dividing tourist shopping values into social, epistemic, and functional values and dividing brand attitudes into attitudes toward fashion global and local brands. Additionally, this work intended to ascertain the moderating effect of cosmopolitanism on tourist shopping behaviors. The analysis results reveal that a high level of epistemic value as perceived by tourists during shopping resulted in a corresponding high level of preference for local fashion brands. Furthermore, a high level of social value as perceived by tourists led to a high level of preference toward global fashion brands. Contrastingly, functional value influenced both local and global brands. As a result of the moderating effect, in the group with high cosmopolitanism tendency, the effect of epistemic value was not significant, but the low group significantly affected brand attitude based on the social and epistemic value. Given its academic and practical implications, the present study is likely to broaden the understanding of tourist shopping and facilitate future research on that phenomenon.

The research involved administering an 18-point questionnaire taking online reviews, tourist involvement, and eWOM, destination image components of trust and satisfaction as variables. Data was collected from 554 individuals forming a cross-section of social media users and analyzed using multi-variate techniques (Reliability, CFA, and SEM). Results indicate a positive and significant relationship between all except online review and destination trust and satisfaction. Indirect and direct effects indicate that eWOM fully mediates the relationship between destination satisfaction and involvement and partially mediates the relationship between destination trust and involvement. In the case of online reviews, eWOM acts as a full mediator between destination trust and destination satisfaction for the future traveler using social media. • This study was conducted to develop the unique native local foods of Namwon and to provide basic data needed to reinvigoratethe tourist industry and local economy. Perception and satisfaction with native local foods of Namwon were surveyed in 483 tourists (246 men and 237 women 53% visiting Namwon for the first time). Of the participants, 41.2% did not stay or eat in Namwon. Most tourists visited with other family members and spent approximately 20,000 won per capita on food. Of the foods sampled for the first time, preferred foods were (in order of preference and intention to order again) Chueo-tang, Hanjeongsik, wild edible greens-jeongsik, and black pork. The degree of food satisfaction was relatively favorable (3.54${\pm}$0.08 points on a 5-point satisfaction scale), with taste being the most important factor affecting the degree of satisfaction for 92.9% of the subjects. However, willingness to revisit Namwon on the basis of the local foods was not as high as the degree of satisfaction with the foods. Insufficient information and publicity concerning Namwon local foods were cited as impediments, and suggested improvements included taste, sanitation and food-based tourism. The degree of satisfaction was higher in men than in women. Age, residence, and occupation were not related to the degree of satisfaction. But, the willingness to revisit Namwon to sample local foods was related with gender (men more willing) and occupation (public service personnel, business owners, salaried employees, professionals, and housewives more willing, in order). Women in general and housewives in particular were most critical in food assessment.
