  • The study investigates the relationship between broad-scope management accounting information usage, market orientation, and the firm performance. This study employs a survey data of 149 top-level and mid-level managers working in Vietnamese tourism enterprises. To analyze research data, we employ SmartPLS 3 software. The analytical process include measurement model evaluation (evaluate the scale's validity and reliability) and structural model evaluation (test research hypotheses). The results reveal that broad-scope management accounting information usage has a positive direct effect on market orientation dimensions (include information generation, information dissemination, and responsiveness). Then, market orientation dimensions also have positive direct effects on the performance of Vietnamese tourism firms, excluding information dissemination. Moreover, this study also reveals that the market orientation dimensions mediate the relationship between broad-scope management accounting information usage and firm performance. The findings of this study suggest that tourism firms should pay more attention to the use of management accounting information in decision-making. With the increasingly fierce competition of the tourism firms today, capturing and meeting the needs of the market is a prerequisite to help firms enhance their competitiveness and improve their performance. To do that, Vietnamese tourism firms need to consider pursuing market orientation and enhancing broad-scope management accounting information usage.

  • Meeting, Incentive travel, Convention, Exhibition (MICE) industries recently introduced new information systems, such as the exhibition guide system (EGS), to keep pace with Smart MICE and maximize the effect of exhibition performance. We investigate how persuasive EGS can affect the EGS acceptance of attendees via cognitive and affective response. We analyzed data from 442 EGS users at an exhibition. We found that information accuracy, information relevance, and source credibility were predictors of cognitive response. Source credibility had a significant effect on affective response. Furthermore, cognitive response was found to be a positive predictor of affective response and EGS acceptance. We also found affective response is a predictor of EGS acceptance. The theoretical and practical implications of the study were presented based on the results.

  • Smart tourism, a promising development trend for destinations, has drawn growing attention from practitioners and academics. Extant research has laid a solid theoretical foundation on the roles of technology and effects of smart tourism on tourists. However, little is known about structured and profound implications for a destination's smart tourism development. Thus, by selecting Hong Kong as a case city, this study proposes a framework of implications for smart tourism development. A qualitative approach was employed to gain insights from smart tourism stakeholders. Results shed light on nine elements that boost the smart tourism development of destinations. These nine elements serve as a significant reference for policy-making. Several theoretical and practical implications are provided for scholars, practitioners, and policy makers.

Although opportunities and threats of space tourism attracted the interest of academia, literature on potential demand, attitudes and people's motivations for space tourism is scarce. In this context, this paper investigates young generations' interest and motivations towards different forms of space tourism. The cluster analysis on 2,207 respondents highlighted an interest in space tourism although motivated by different reasons, levels of budget and sustainability aspects. Interest in space tourism varies according to how far it is perceived as potential, possible or sustainable, or to people's personal feelings. The paper adds to contributions in the tourism field by investigating the opportunities space can offer this industry.

  • Almost all Koreans recognize the Dolhareubang as a representative symbol of Jeju. However, as the development of online technology progressed, the image and perception of the Dolhareubang is also expected to change. Thus, this study explored the perceived images of Dolhareubang by focusing on residents in Seoul, Korea using Q methodology. The goal of this research was to evaluate this iconic representation of Jeju as an important component of the island's online tourism destination image. The Q-set was developed from existing literature and defined conceptually in terms of 'value', 'resource', 'story', and 'image'. Thirty five respondents were recruited as P set. Findings indicated four distinctive clusters that perceived the Dolhareubang differently and differences in perceptions were observed in terms of age. The examination of destination image and the exploration of the perceptions of Dolharuebang as a representative of Jeju could contribute to online destination image management or development, which is a crucial component of smart tourism.
