The outbreak of the Covid 19 increased the interest on the 'Virtual Tourism. In this research the key word related to "Virtual Tourism" was collected through the search engine and was analyzed through the data mining method such as Log-odds ratio, Frequency, and network analysis. It is clear that the information and communication dependency increased in the field of "Virtual Tourism" after Covid 19 and also the trend have changed from "securement of the contents diversity" to "project related to economic recovery." Since the demands for the "Virtual Reality" such as metaverse is increasing, there should be an economic and circular structure in which the government establishing a related policy and the funding plan based on the research, local government and the private companies planning and producing discriminate contents focusing on AISAS(Attension, Interest, Search, Action, Share) aand the research institutions and universities developing, applying, assessing and commercializing the technology.

Purpose: This study is to analyze the changes of consumption patterns to diagnose the economic impacts on consumers' market during COVID-19, and to suggest implications to overcome the new social and economic crisis of Jeju Island. Research design, data, and methodology: We collected a set of credit card transaction records issued by BC Card Company from merchants in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province for past 4 years from 2017 to 2020 from the Jeju Data Hub run by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. The big data contains details of approved credit card transactions including the approval numbers, amount, locations and types of merchants, time and age of users, etc. The researchers summed up amount in monthly basis, transforming big data to small data to analyze the changes of consumption before and after COVID-19. Results: Sales fell sharply in transportation industries including airlines, and overall consumption by age group decreased while the decrease in consumption among the seniors was relatively small. The sales of Yeon-dong and Yongdam-dong in Jeju City also fell significantly compared to other regions. As a result of the paired t-test of all 73 samples in Jeju City, the p-value of the mean consumption of the credit card in 2019 and 2020 is significant, statistically proven that the total consumption amount in the two years is different. Conclusions: We found there are sensitive spots that can be strategically approached based on the changes in consumption patterns by industry, region, and age although most of companies and small businesses have been hit by COVID-19. It is necessary for local companies and for the government to be focusing their support on upgrading services, in order to prevent declining sales and job instability for their employees, creating strategies to retain jobs and prevent customer churn in the face of the crisis. As Jeju Province is highly dependent on the tertiary industry, including tourism, it is suggested to create various strategies to overcome the crisis of the pandemic by constantly monitoring the sales trends of local companies.
This study tried to understand the structural relationship between public crisis communication, emotional influence, and behavioral intention in a national crisis/risk situation. Based on the results of previous studies and empirical studies, the results of crisis/threat type, crisis/threat response, sentiment (crisis/risk responsibility, strategic risk/risk reflective response), and action intention For tourists who visit tourist destinations, as well as the relationship between crisis and risk communication at the tourist destination and one of the unique emotions of Koreans (crisis threat responsibility, strategic response, and reflective response to crisis threat) The relationship between the outcome variable, behavioral intention, was identified. A theoretical study was conducted on each research concept to achieve the proposed research purpose. Based on this, a questionnaire was drawn up and empirical research was conducted in parallel. Three hypotheses were established, and meaningful results were confirmed according to the results of the hypotheses. When a risky situation occurs, the government, business, and local community will actively respond and respond to it as an opportunity to offset the risk of crisis.

This research analyzes the effects of factors on the demands for outbound to the countries such as Japan, China, the United States of America, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia, the countries preferred by many Koreans. The factors for this research are (1) economic variables such as Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI), which could have influences on outbound tourism and exchange rate and (2) unpredictable events such as diseases, financial crisis and terrors. Regression analysis was used to identify relationship based on the monthly data from January 2001 to December 2010. The results of the analysis show that both exchange rate and KOSPI have impacts on the demands for outbound travel. In the case of travels to the United States of America and Philippines, Korean tourists usually have particular purposes such as studying, visiting relatives, playing golf or honeymoon, thus they are less influenced by the exchange rate. Moreover, Korean tourists tend not to visit particular locations for some time when shock reaction happens. As the demands for outbound travels are different from country to country accompanied by economic variables and shock variables, differentiated measure to should be considered to come close to the target numbers of tourists by switching as well as creating the demands. For further study we plan to build outbound tourism forecasting models using Artificial Neural Networks.
This study analyzes inbound and outbound Korea tourism data through an intervention model. For the analysis, we adopt three intervention factors: (1) IMF bailout crisis in December 1997, (2) Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome(SARS) outbreak in March 2003, and (3) Lehman Brothers bankruptcy in September 2008. The empirical results show that only the SARS factor lowered inbound tourism from April 2003 with a drastic decline in May 2003 and gradually decaying since then. However, all three factors significantly lowered tourism in the case of outbound tourism. Especially, the effect of the IMF is shown to be permanent from December 1997 and the effects of SARS and the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy abrupt and temporary with a gradual decay.
Purpose - As a leading source of foreign exchange and investment, tourism has grown in importance as a component of international trade. Accordingly, in recent decades much attention has been directed toward attracting foreign tourists and, in turn, positively affecting the recommendation intentions of foreign tourists. Despite such interests, there remains a dearth of empirical research on this issue. Moreover, prior research has focused primarily on the simple main effect of a certain factor on recommendation intentions. Therefore, the present study aims to (1) investigate the effect of overall satisfaction on the recommendation intentions of foreign tourists, and (2) examine the potential moderating effects of personal factors (i.e., age and destination image) on the association between overall satisfaction and recommendation intention. Design/methodology - Using a moderated moderation analysis of the data drawn from the 2018 International Visitor Survey conducted by the Korea Tourism Organization, this study proposes the three-way interaction effects of overall satisfaction, age, and destination image on recommendation intention. Findings - The findings of the study indicate that overall satisfaction is positively associated with recommendation intention and this relationship becomes stronger among younger tourists. The findings further indicate that the moderating effect of age on the relationship between overall satisfaction and recommendation intention depends on changes in the image of the destination. Specifically, the destination image exerts a positive moderating impact on the influence of age that moderates the overall satisfaction and recommendation intention relationship. Originality/value - Considering that the tourism economy has been severely affected by the current COVID-19 pandemic, this study contributes to a more accurate understanding of the factors affecting the recommendation intention, especially in times of crisis.
The outbreak of COVID-19 is facing a global crisis. Therefore, this study comprehensively reviews the risk perception, tourism attitude, and tourism intention of potential tourists in the COVID-19 situation. As a research finding, three factors were derived for tourism risk perception: physical risk, social risk, and performance risk. It is verified that social risk to be a significant factors affecting tourism attitude. Also, it proved that social risk, performance risk to be important factors affecting tourism intention. A t-test was conducted to examine the implications of demographic characteristics(gender, age, job) in the study. As a result of the analysis, it was found that potential tourists in their 20's age perceived social risk as more important than other age groups. In addition, potential tourists in their 20's showed more positive tourism attitudes than other age groups. As a result of analyzing differences according to job, it was found that the student group had higher social risk, tourism attitude, and tourism intention than other occupational groups. Based on the research results, it can help derive strategies to reduce tourists' perception of risk in special situations such as COVID-19 and contribute to academia.

Bilbao, Spain, made a mark as a example of the regional revitalization by culture and tourism. Korean Government have a perspective that culture and tourism could be an alternative to the regional crisis of manufacturing in 2018. The main purpose of this study is to analyze the locational specificity and the revival strategies for the regional development of Bilbao in a structural context. This could provide implications to the regional crisis of Korea. The main results are summarized as follows. Firstly, the local government of Bilbao has taken an active role, using not only its political and financial autonomy but also its locational advantage as an important nodal region of transnational trade networks in Europe. Secondly, Bilbao was able to sustain its regional revitalization initiatives for a long period by facilitating public-private partnership system. Finally, despite the effectiveness of the mega project and place marketing, low job security and the polarization of the service sector have emerged as a problem at the same time. Still, the deindustrialization of Bilbao could be possible due to the various services including knowledge-based services and financial services as well as culture and tourism.
The tourism industry is now changing to smart tourism, which maximizes tourists' overall tourism experience with the use of advanced mobile technologies and emphasizes the utilization of tourism information. Despite the quantitative expansion of the tourism industry, there is a lack of academic and practical discussion on tourism safety. Especially, in the context of walking tourism, tourists are more likely to be exposed to natural or social disasters and emergencies. Therefore, it is necessary to build a system that can provide walking tourists with safety information not only on dangerous factors which are anticipated to be confronted during a walking trip in advance but also on specific dangers in real time. Under the circumstances, this study seeks to identify the types of tourism safety information that can be offered by using publicly available open data, drawing on the safety information framework on the walking tourism that is presented in Choi et al. (2017)'s study. More specifically, this study focuses on the use of open data which is provided by the Korean government. Furthermore, this study verifies the types of safety information that are most urgently needed in walking travel situations. Specifically, this study aims to derive the importance and priority of each type of safety information for a walking trip by applying the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) analysis. For this, we collected 35 questionnaires from walking tour operators (practitioners) and walking tourists. The main results are as follows. First, natural disaster information is the most important factor in the top-level factor of safety information for walking tourists, followed by social disaster, life safety, and exhibition (security crisis) information. Second, information on natural disasters, environmental pollution, and weather is considered to be important at the sub-level factor. Lastly, the noteworthy result of this study is that the importance of each type of safety information varies depending on the walking tour operators (practitioners) and the walking tourists. That is, there is a recognition difference between the operator (practitioner) and the user in the importance and priority of the safety information of the walking trip. Therefore, it is necessary to develop policies and services reflecting the opinions of potential users when providing safety information so that the most importantly recognized information can be provided first.
