A Study on the Characteristics of Children's Digital Experience Center using Interection (인터랙션을 활용한 어린이 디지털체험관의 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to comprehend the trend of digital experience centers' development direction and to find out the types of experiences, the characteristics of interaction and the attribute of contents by selecting 4 digital experience centers opened from 2008 to 2018. The types of digital experiences are operation, sensibility, reaction and induction based on precedent studies. The types of interaction are operation, touch and sensor. The attributes of contents are game, play and education. The result shows that the ratio of operation experiences is gradually higher. In the types of interaction, the trend is switching to operation and touch. The offer of experience activities by play type is getting higher. This study is intended to help create an empirical interaction of the content of the children's digital experience centers that will be deployed in the future.

Development of Inspection System for Transparent Pattern of the Electromagnetic Resonance Pen (전자펜 입력용 투명패턴 검사장치 개발)

  • To produce an input device stably using the transparent electromagnetic pattern of an electromagnetic induction method, pattern inspection is required in advance in the production process. Various methods of inspecting the capacitive pattern for hand-touch have been proposed, but it is difficult to find the related technical data for the pattern inspection method of the transparent electromagnetic induction method. In this study, to develop an inspection system for a fused electromagnetic resonance pen sensor with a copper-etched metal mesh pattern, an inspection algorithm and method for measuring the antenna impedance inside the sensor was proposed by measuring only the exposed FPCB connector. The proposed method was configured as a control board consisting of a microprocessor that forms a loop between specific channels according to the command of a computer, a computer-controlled by the Windows program, an LCR meter measuring the impedance between specific channels, and transmitting the measurement results back to the computer. An evaluation of the proposed system and measurements of nine specimens showed that it could detect the defects of the sensor used in the actual product.

  • Lithium-ion batteries have a small volume, light weight and high energy density, maximizing the utilization of mobile devices. It is widely used for various purposes such as electric bicycles and scooters (e-Mobility), mass energy storage (ESS), and electric and hybrid vehicles. To date, lithium-ion batteries have grown to focus on increasing energy density and reducing production costs in line with the required capacity. However, the research and development level of lithium-ion batteries seems to have reached the limit in terms of energy density. In addition, the charging time is an important factor for using lithium-ion batteries. Therefore, it was urgent to develop a high-speed charger to shorten the charging time. In this thesis, a discharger was fabricated to evaluate the capacity and characteristics of Li-ion battery pack which can be used for e-mobility. To achieve this, a smart discharger is designed with a combination of active load, current sensor, and temperature sensor. To carry out this thesis, an active load switching using sensor control circuit, signal processing circuit, and FET was designed and manufactured as hardware with the characteristics of active discharger. And as software for controlling the hardware of the active discharger, a Raspberry Pi control device and a touch screen program were designed. The developed discharger is designed to change the 600W capacity battery in the form of active load.

  • We present an autonomous entertainment dolphin robot system based on ubiquitous sensor networks(USN). Generally, It is impossible to apply to USN and GPS in underwater bio-mimetic robots. But An Entertainment dolphin robot which presented in this paper operates on the water not underwater. Navigation of the underwater robot in a given area is based on GPS data and the acquired position information from deployed USN motes with emphasis on user interaction. Body structures, sensors and actuators, governing microcontroller boards, and swimming and interaction features are described for a typical entertainment dolphin robot. Actions of mouth-opening, tail splash or water blow through a spout hole are typical responses of interaction when touch sensors on the body detect users' demand. Dolphin robots should turn towards people who demand to interact with them, while swimming autonomously. The functions that are relevant to human-robot interaction as well as robot movement such as path control, obstacle detection and avoidance are managed by microcontrollers on the robot for autonomy. Distance errors are calibrated periodically by the known position data of the deployed USN motes.

Low-Frequency Electromagnetic Leakage Signal Analysis According to Fundamental Operations of Smartphones (스마트폰 기본 동작 모드에 따른 저주파 대역 누설 전자파 신호 특성 분석)

  • This paper presents the spectral analysis and radiation pattern of low-frequency electromagnetic(EM) leakage signals according to the fundamental operations of smartphones. The EM leakage signals generated by the activation of four I/O sensor modules such as a touch-screen, a camera, a microphone and a speaker are captured by the commercial near-field magnetic probe with 1cm spatial resolution. The analysis results show that the leakage of the EM wave occurs strongly around the activated I/O sensor modules, AP(Application Processor) and memory modules. Also, the distinguishable frequency characteristic is shown in each spectrum of EM leakage signals.

  • In this paper, we propose that it can control the interior lighting, LED and alarm clocks based on Bluetooth. The proposed 'Bluetooth based LED Alarm Lamp'may be an ON / OFF by using a Bluetooth module, by the light sensor and voltage transformers were designed to adjust the ON / OFF and light intensity. Also 7-segment display the clock, it was used a piezo-buzzer that designed to ring an alarm in time. And to decrease the voltage by using the touch sensor can adjust the light brightness. It was also added the ability to align the alarm. This piece (Bluetooth based LED Alarm Lamp) can provide a comfortable environment inside the room of a resident if the environment is dark when voltage is maintained to be ON automatic system. And designed with emphasis being able to improve the quality of sleep due to weak light.

  • This paper focuses on the use of the virtual dialog system whose aim is to build more convenient living environments. In order to realize this, the main emphasis of the paper lies on the description of the multimedia signal processing on the basis of the technologies such as speech recognition, speech synthesis, video, or sensor signal processing. For essential modules of the dialog system, we incorporated the real-time speech recognizer based on HM-Net(Hidden Markov Network) as well as speech synthesis into the overall system. In addition, we adopted the real-time motion detector based on the changes of brightness in pixels, as well as the touch sensor that was used to start system. In experimental evaluation, the results showed that the proposed system was relatively easy to use for controlling electric appliances while sitting in a sofa, even though the performance of the system was not better than the simulation results owing to the noisy environments.

  • This study focuses on the new teaching assistance robot platform and the cloud-based education service model to support the server. In the client area we would like to use the teacher assistant robot in elementary school classrooms to utilize the language education service platform. Emerging IoT technology will be adopted to provide a comfortable classroom environment and various media interfaces. Extensive precedent review and case study have been conducted to identify basic requirements of proposed service platform. Embedded system and technology for image recognition, speech recognition, autonomous movement, display, touch screen, IR sensor, GPS, and temperature-humidity sensor were extensively investigated to complete the service. Key findings of this paper are optimized service platform with cloud server system and possibilities of potential smart classroom with intelligent robot by adopting IoT and BIM technology.

A Study on the Motion and Voice Recognition Smart Mirror Using Grove Gesture Sensor (그로브 제스처 센서를 활용한 모션 및 음성 인식 스마트 미러에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents the development of a smart mirror that allows control of its display through glove gestures and integrates voice recognition functionality. The hardware configuration of the smart mirror consists of an LCD monitor combined with an acrylic panel, onto which a semi-mirror film with a reflectance of 37% and transmittance of 36% is attached, enabling it to function as both a mirror and a display. The proposed smart mirror eliminates the need for users to physically touch the mirror or operate a keyboard, as it implements gesture control through glove gesture sensors. Additionally, it incorporates voice recognition capabilities and integrates Google Assistant to display results on the screen corresponding to voice commands issued by the user.

  • Interactive media is a method of communication in which the output from the media comes from the input of the users. The interactive media lets the user go back with the media. Interactive media works with the user's participation. The media still has the same purpose but the user's input adds the interaction and brings interesting features to the system for a better enjoyment. We need a digital content using a dynamic motion and gesture of the mobile device. We made an authoring tool for content producers to easily create interactive content. We have tried to take advantage of the interaction by using a touch screen and a gravity sensor of the mobile device. This interaction may lead to allow the user to participate in the content, it can be used as a key device to assist in engagement. Furthermore, our authoring tool can be applied to various fields of publishing content.
