UFC(Ubiquitous Fashionable Computer) is a human oriented fashionable computer with which we exploit the ubiquitous computing environment by our intuitive interface[1]. The multipoint conference in the UFC is expected to be one of the leading applications in the ubiquitous environments. In this paper, we introduce GUI for multipoint conference system in UFC.

iphone이 가져다주는 핸드폰 사용자의 체험, 제일 처음으로 제일 많은 스마트폰 시스템 windows mobile의 개명, 새로운 개방적인 스마트폰 시스템 android의 출시, 스마트폰 및 그의 인터페이스 디자인이 가져온 새로운 사용자 체험은 사람들의 눈길을 끄는 화제로 되었습니다. 핸드폰 시장에서 스마트폰의 지위가 날이 갈수록 중요해 짐에 따라, iphone이 가져다주는 핸드폰 사용자의 체험, 제일 처음으로 제일 많은 스마트폰 시스템 windows mobile의 개명, 새로운 개방적인 스마트폰 시스템 android의 출시, 스마트폰 및 그의 인터페이스 디자인이 가져온 새로운 사용자 체험은 사람들의 눈길을 끄는 화제로 되었습니다. 본문에서는 최신 발표한 Windows Mobile시스템의 WPhone7와 Iphone의 핸드폰 인터페이스를 사용하는데 대하여 비교하고 분석하여 미래 핸드폰 인터페이스의 발전 방향과 사용자의 요구 방향에 대하여 탐구 하였습니다.

본 연구에서는 기존의 키패드 조작방식에 익숙해져 있던 모바일 폰 이용자가 새로운 터치스크린 모바일 폰으로 기종을 변경하였을 때 생성하는 멘탈모델의 특징에 대하여 고찰하였다. 먼저, 터치스크린 모바일 폰의 기능 가운데서 가장 사용 빈도가 높은 상위 7개의 기능에 대한 실험과제를 설정하여 비디오 관찰실험을 실시하였다. 다음으로 수집된 데이터를 프로토콜 분석법을 이용하여 사용자의 조작과 관련된 사고의 변용과정을 분석하였다. 분석결과 키패드 조작방식에 익숙해져 있던 피험자들은 실험이 거듭될수록 새로운 터치스크린 모바일 폰의 조작과정에 적응하기 위하여 버튼이나 화면에 탭, 더블 탭 등 컴퓨터 운영시스템(윈도우)과 웹 브라우저 상의 내비게이션과 관련된 지식을 이용하여 멘탈모델을 수정하려는 경향이 있었다.

A lot of research for system-on-panel(SOP) have been done to integrate display systems including data driver, gate driver, timing controller, DC-DC converter, and smart functions such as embedded touch screen, ambient brightness sensing and luminance control, finger printing on the glass. Recently, the cost of an one-chip driver IC with various functions has decreased rapidly, and new mobile display interface technologies have been introduced. So it is necessary to examine the feasibility of SOP for practical mobile applications. In this paper, we will re-examine LTPS technologies for mobile displays in terms of various aspects and discuss the practical limitations on SOP technology and future technology trend of mobile displays.

This study is regarding development of an index table for antomation of welding process in impeller fabrication. A PLC, which is widely used for automation in industry, was also adopted as a controller for the index table because of it effectiveness, easy maintenance and repair. The index table consists of centering jig, blade jig, workbench, driving system and a controller. A touch screen was also prepaired as a man-machine interface to provide convenience for workers. Water jacket was installed inside the workbench to reduce thermal stress come from the welding. Temperature of the water jacket was kept constant to cool an impeller main plate effectively. The index table developed in this study convinces that it reduces the total welding time by 50% compared with the conventional process without the table.

The DTL water skid cooling system and Resonant Control Cooling Systems (RCCS) will employ a control system that can be operated by a local, programmable logic controller (PLC), interfaced through a touch screen interface, mobile alarm SMS server system, or it can be operated through the PEFP global control system network. The RCCS is implemented using Experimental Physics and Control System (EPICS) based hardware and software and is integrated with other networked PEFP EPICS systems. This presentation discusses the features of the local control system.

This paper proposes a user interface for enhancing immersiveness and usability by combining hologram and haptic device with common Leap Motion. While Leap Motion delivers physical motion of user hand to control virtual environment, it is limited to handle virtual hands on screen and interact with virtual environment in one way. In our system, hologram is coupled with Leap Motion to improve user immersiveness by arranging real and virtual hands in the same place. Moreover, we provide a interaction prototype of sense by designing a haptic device to convey touch sense in virtual environment to user's hand.

Voice is the most common means for communication, but some people have difficulties in generating voice due to their congenital or acquired disorders. Individuals with speech disorders might lose their speaking ability due to hearing impairment, encephalopathy or cerebral palsy accompanied by motor skill impairments, or autism caused by mental problems. However, they have needs for communication, so some of them use various types of AAC (Augmentative & Alternative Communication) devices in order to meet their communication needs. In this paper, a mobile application for literate people having speech disorder was designed and implemented by developing accurate and fast sentence-completion functions for efficient user interaction. From a user study and the previous study on Korean text-based communication for adults having difficulty in speech communication, we identified functionality and usability requirements. Specifically, the user interface with scanning features was designed by considering the users' motor skills in using the touch-screen of a mobile device. Finally, we conducted the usability test for the application. The results of the usability test show that the application is easy to learn and efficient to use in communication with people with speech disorders.

The combination of Gas chromatography (GC) for separation and Flame Ionization Detection (FID) for detection and identification of the components of a mixture of compounds is a fast and strongly proved method of analytic chemistry. The objective of this research was to design a combined High-speed miniature screening Gas chromatograph along with a Flame Ionization Detector for quick, quantitative and qualitative analysis of gas components. This combined GC-FID system is suitable to detect the volatile and semi-volatile hydrocarbons present in a gas mixture. The construction made it less expensive, easy to use and movable. The complete gas path was developed. On/off valves, temperature and flow sensors and their interface electronics were used for controlling purpose. A Microcontroller was programmed to measure the temperature and gas flow using the sensors and to control and regulate them using the electronics and valves. A pocket PC with its touch screen served as a user interface for the system. Software was developed for the pocket PC, which makes the communication possible with the Microcontroller. The system parameters can be indicated in the Pocket PC as simple text and also the analysis result can be displayed.

During several years, lots of industrial and individual products have been developed based on the text or graphic LCD module which has been gave the short developing period to the developer. With the advent of home networks and intelligent robots, the need for interaction between human and instruments has been increased. Recently, goods with a TFT-LCD come out. But in spite of a simple required performance, the complicated microprocessor, such as ARM processor, is required to interface the TFT-LCD and touch screen. Our research and development is to develope an embedded TFT-LCD module in order to use or apply to the goods through the simple interface by the general users as well as the developers. We adopt the RTOS(real time operating system) in order to operate TFT-LCD independently and various communication protocols are provided in order to offer the simple interface to users and developers.
