In the traditional buffeting response analysis method, the spanwise incomplete correlation of buffeting forces is always assumed to be same as that of the incident wind turbulence and the action of the signature turbulence is ignored. In this paper, three typical bridge decks usually adopted in the real bridge engineering, a single flat box deck, a central slotted box deck and a two-separated paralleled box deck, were employed as the investigated objects. The wind induced pressure on these bridge decks were measured via a series of wind tunnel pressure tests of the sectional models. The influences of the wind speed in the tests, the angle of attack, the turbulence intensity and the characteristic distance were taken into account and discussed. The spanwise root coherence of buffeting forces was also compared with that of the incidence turbulence. The signature turbulence effect on the spanwise root coherence function was decomposed and explained by a new empirical method with a double-variable model. Finally, the formula of a sum of rational fractions that accounted for the signature turbulence effect was proposed in order to fit the results of the spanwise root coherence function. The results show that, the spanwise root coherence of the drag force agrees with that of incidence turbulence in some range of the reduced frequency but disagree in the mostly reduced frequency. The spanwise root coherence of the lift force and the torsional moment is much larger than that of the incidence turbulence. The influences of the wind speed and the angle of attack are slight, and they can be ignored in the wind tunnel test. The spanwise coherence function often involves several narrow peaks due to the signature turbulence effect in the high reduced frequency zone. The spanwise coherence function is related to the spanwise separation distance and the spanwise integral length scales, and the signature turbulence effect is related to the deck-width-related reduced frequency.
The primary objective of this study is to truly understand reaction force be due to engine exciting force. Exciting forces of the engine apply a source of the vehicle NVH(Noise, Vibration, Harshness). To understand reaction force was applied MSC.Nastran software. Analyzed frequency response analysis of powertrain mount system. First, engine exciting force was applied field function. Also nonlinear characteristics was applied field function : such as dynamic spring constant and loss factor. And nonlinear characteristics was applied CBUSH. Generally characteristics of rubber mount is constant frequency. But characteristics of hydraulic mount depend to frequency. Therefore nonlinear characteristics was applied. Powertrain mounting system be influenced by powertrain specification, mount position, mount angle and mount characteristics etc. In this study, we was analyzed effects of powertrain mounting system. And we was varied dynamics spring constant and loss factor of mounts.

In this paper, a three-span continuous box girder is analysed by using elastic equation based on energy method, concerning the behaviour with the effects of bending and pure torsional moment. The statically indeterminate forces of a three-span continuous curved box girder are calculated by applying the principle of least work to this elastic equation. The influence line of shear force, bending moment, pure torsion, displacement and angle of rotation due to unit vortical load and unit torque for curved box girder are obtained. The internal forces of the curved box girder which the actual load is applied can be calculated using the influence line obtained from this study.
In this study, a modeling method is based on representing a road generation system with several rigid bodies, i.e, pad, shaft, torsional damper, oneway-clutch, gear system, and electricity generator. The simulation software is developed to evaluate the performance of a road generation system. It is used to determine parametric dimension for optimal design with the theoretically calculated results from the simulation software. The parametric dimensions are included as capacity, length, and angle of equipment. The transient responses at the conditions of low and high vehicle speed are compared with the calculated results as torque, power, out energy etc. Consequently, before manufacturing system, the analysis of simulation results shows that the proposed concept and system has efficiency and confidence.
The jib system with middle strut is widely used to achieve the large arm length in the large scale tower crane and the deployability in the mobile construction crane. In this paper, an analytical solution for the out-of-plane buckling of the jib system with middle strut is proposed. To obtain the analytical expression of the buckling characteristic equation, the method of differential equation was adopted by establishing the bending and torsional differential equation of the jib system under the instability critical state. Compared with the numerical solutions of the finite element software ANSYS, the analytical results in this work agree well with them. Therefore, the correctness of the results in this work can be confirmed. Then the influences of the lateral stiffness of the cable fixed joint, the dip angle of the strut, the inertia moment of the strut, and the horizontal position of the cable fixed joint on the out-of-plane buckling behavior of the jib system were investigated.

Lately, due to increasing engine output by high supercharging, heavy crankshaft and propeller mass, as well as long strokes attended with the reduced crankshaft axial stiffness, the critical crankshaft axial vibration has frequently appeared in maneuvering range of the engine. Some investigators have developed calculating methods of natural frequencies and resonant amplitudes for crankshaft axial vibrations. But their reliabilities are uncertain as the estimated crankshaft axial stiffness are incorrect. The calculating procedure of these natural frequencies is practically analogous to the classical calculation of torsional vibration frequencies, except for an important difference due to the relationship of the axial stiffness of a crank and the angle between the crank and other, especially the adjacent, cranks. In this paper, 6 calculation formulae of crankshaft axial stiffness already published and a theoretically- developed one by authors are checked by comparing their calculating results with those measured values of one model crankshafat and three full-scale actual crankshafts. Also, the calculating methods of the crankshaft axial free vibration are investigated and their computer programs are developed. Finally, those developed computer programs are applied to calculating one model crankshaft and two full-scale actual crankshafts of ship's propulsion engines and their calculated results are compared with those measured values.

The very large container ships have been built recently and those ships have very small structural rigidity compared with the other conventional ships. As a result, the destruction of ship hull is occurred by the springing including to warping phenomena due to encounter waves. In this study, the solutions of hydrodynamic coefficients are obtained by solving the three dimensional source distribution method and the forward speed Green function representing a translating and pulsating source potential for infinite water depth is used to calculating the integral equation. The vessel is longitudinally divided into various sections and the added mass, wave damping and wave exciting forces of each section is calculated by integrating the dynamic pressures over the mean wetted section surface. The equations for six degree freedom of motions is obtained for each section in the frequency domain and stiffness matrix is calculated by Euler beam theory. The computations are carried out for very large ship and effects of bending and torsional ridigity on the wave frequency and angle are investigated.

The stiffness and natural frequencies for blades, flexbeam, and torque tube of bearingless rotor system are measured to determine the material input properties such as mass distributions and stiffness distribution for the rotor dynamics and load analysis. The flap stiffness, lag stiffness, and torsional stiffness are calculated by measuring section strain or twist angle, gages position, and applied loads through bending and twist tests. The modal tests are undertaken to find out the natural frequencies for flap, lag, torsion modes in non-rotating conditions. The stiffness values and mass properties are tuned and updated to match prediction frequencies to the measured frequencies. The rotorcraft comprehensive code(CAMRAD II) is used to analyze the natural frequencies of the specimens. The analysis results with the updated material properties agree well with the measured frequencies. The updated properties will be used to analyze the rotor stability, dynamic characteristics and loads for the rotor rotation test in a whirl tower.

As track density needs to increase to the order of 10, 000 tpi, the suspension has become a critical component in hard disk drives. One of the main obstacles to attain high track density is the structural resonances of the suspension in lateral direction. We investigate the suspension dynamics through the experimental modal analysis and the finite element method. An LDV (Laser Doppler Vibrometer) is employed to measure the response of the suspension which is excited by a shaker and an inpulse hammer for the free condition and the loaded condition, respectively. After comparing the experimental and numerical results, we study how the initial geometry of the bend region affects the suspension dynamics. It is found that the natural frequency of the sway mode decreases as the bend ratio and the bend angle increase. The shape of torsional mode changes as the mass of a slider increases, resulting in a local decrease in the natural frequency.

Plastic region tightening is widely used in critical bolted joints in internal combustion engines in order to reduce the engine weight by maximizing the use of load-carrying capacity of bolt. Mechanical behavior of bolt tightened in plastic region under external axial tensile load is investigated for various friction conditions using three dimensional finite element analysis. The behavior of bolt tightened in elastic region as well as that in tensile test are investigated for comparison. Tightening process is simulated by rotating the bolt in order to examine the friction effect realistically. It is revealed that the bolt tightened in plastic region can carry more external load until the joint is opened, and yields at lower bolt load than the bolt tightened in elastic region. The friction coefficient has effect on the yield load, but not on the load-carrying capacity. Moreover, the scatter in the bolt preload due to friction begins with plastic deformation of bolt in the angle tightening control, whereas it begins with the onset of tightening in the torque tightening control. The observations are interpreted with the residual torsional stress in the bolt generated during the tightening.
