  • Tensile and shrinkage characteristics of DTY, EDY and Macel were investigated experimentally. The drawn textured yarn(DTY) made by an existing belt type false twist and the elastic drawn textured yarn(EDY) made by non-torque false twist method modified from the belt type one. Macel was the yarn which had drawn and un-drawn arrangements. The tenacity of EDY had lower value than that of DTY. EDY had higher strethch than that of DTY. Especially Macel yarn had higher stretch than that of DTY compared with the same diameter of yarn. With time course behavior the tenacity and elongation of DTY and EDY had stabled tendency without variation. Before scouring Process, the wet and dry shrinkage patio of EDY load higher value than that of DTY. However, they decreased artier the process. At the same time, the stretch characteristic of EDY was significant as the diameter of yarn became higher.

  • Natural gas is one of the promising alternative fuels because of the abundant deposits and the cleanness of emission gas. It can be used in conventional gasoline engine without major modification. Natural gas has some advantages than gasoline i.e. the high octane number, good mixing condition because of gas and wide inflamable limit. In the present study, a $1.8{\ell}$ conventional gasoline engine is modified for using the CNG as a fuel instead of gasoline. Performance and emission characteristics are compared between gasoline and CNG with 4 cylinder SI Engine which is controlled by programable ECU. Parameters of experimentation are equivalence ratio, spark timing and fuels. We analyzed the combustion characteristics of the engine using the cylinder pressure i.e. ignition delay, combustion duration and cycle variation. As a result, CNG engine shows lower exhaust emissions but brake torque is slightly reduced compared to gasoline engine. Overall combustion duration is longer than that of gasoline because of lower burning speed.

  • Existing studies relative to enhancing sustainability of earth-work are mainly involved in the performance of construction equipments. They assume that there is no variation of the engine power and fuel consumption and classify the dozer operation into working and idle conditions. They enable to find the most eco-friendly equipment fleet deployment plan. However, they are confined in that they do not provide a measure to assess the sustainability of the operation plan and suggest optimal alternative(s). This paper presents a method that identifies an optimal dozer operation plan that assures sustainability by reducing fuel consumption of the equipment. The method computes the dozer operation productivity using engine-torque-output map provided by equipment manufacturers. Indeed, it identifies the eco-dozing operation that minimizes fuel consumption and maximizes the target productivity.

  • Square-wave current source inverter drives suffer from torque pulsation and speed variation at low speed. Attempts to minimize these problems, CSI PWM strategies have been reported. It is shown that these PWM strategies are based on unnecessarily restrictive modulation laws. In this paper, trapezoidal PWM strategy for CSI is investigated theoratically by double fourier series and we proposed Harmonic Speed ripple Factor(HSF) that is independent of motor parameters and load conditions. Speed ripple are considered in T-PWM and square wave inverter by HSF. We obtain modulation index(M) and carrier ratio (CR) for minimum speed ripple.

  • In this study, the speed sensorless vector control system with the magnetizing inductance compensation structure is presented. The estimations of the rotor speed and the magnetizing inductance using the terminal voltages and currents are performed with the reduced order Gopinath flux observer. The rotor speed is estimated by the torque producing current which is derived from the estimated value of the rotor flux and the measured stator currents. In order to compensate the variation of the magnetizing inductance under the saturated conditions, we also established the compensation scheme which is made with the instantaneous reactive power. The validity of the proposed method is verified by simulation results.

  • The DITC of SRM for smooth hoist driving is presented in this paper. In the hoist system, the switched reluctance motor (SRM) is applied instead of induction motor because of high efficiency and good traction characteristic. In order to improve start-up and stop performance of hoist system, the smoothing operation sequence of SRM using DITC is proposed. According to the switching sequence and hysteric band, the instantaneous torque is controlled. Since, the proposed method uses only the turn-on angle depending on variation of load and speed, a simple DITC can be implemented. The validity is proved by simulation and experiment.

  • The torque production of SRM is dependent on the variation of inductance which is related to rotor position angle. So the realization of high efficiency SRM is achieved by design of optimal inductance profile appropriate for magnetic capacity of motor. This can be obtained by optimal design of winding number of stator. This paper suggests the design standard of winding number of stator for high efficiency. And this paper shows the experimental results of driving performance of SRM.

  • The effects of additional P-doping on the magnetic properties, thermal stability and cation distribution of Co-doped ${\gamma}-{Fe_2} {O_3}$have been investigated by means of magnetic annealing and measurements with vibration sample magnetometer and torque magnetometer. It is found that the P-doping promotes the coercivity and its magnetic-thermal stability, which may be attributed to increase of the cubic magneto-crystalline anisotropy constant, $K_1$ and the activation energy, E, for cation rearrangement, respectively. The cation distribution of P and Co-substituted iron oxide was calculated from the variation of the saturation magnetization with P-doping on the basis of the Neel model. It was found that the most of P ions in the iron oxides occupied the B-site of spinel lattice.

  • This paper introduces a new concept compressor in which piston orbits in the cylinder having an annular space formed between two concentric circular walls. In this configuration, two gas pockets are formed with $180^{\circ}$ phase difference: one between the wrap of the orbiting piston and the inner cylinder wall and the other between the piston wrap and the outer cylinder wall. This alternating feature of gas compression and discharge processes yields several advantages such as low torque variation and low gas pulsation. Computer simulation program has been developed to evaluate the compressor performance. The volumetric, adiabatic, and mechanical efficiencies of the orbiter compressor are calculated to be $85.6\%,\;97.2\%,\;and\;95.2\%$, respectively, when it is used as an air compressor.

  • Orbiter mechanism has been applied to vacuum pump design for small oxygen generator where low vacuum of about 200 mmHg is required. Performance of the designed vacuum pump has been numerically investigated: calculated volumetric and adiabatic efficiencies were 69.7% and 83.9%, respectively for leakage clearance of $10{\mu}m$. Total efficiency of the orbiter vacuum pump was 77.5%. At the shaft speed of 1700 rpm suction displacement volume of 6.3cc provided discharge flow at the rate of 2.3 liter/min with power consumption of 10.1Watt. Torque variation of the orbiter pump was only about 20% of that of diaphragm pump.
