의료용 햅틱 마스터-슬레이브 로봇 시스템 : 실험적 성능 평가 (A Haptic Master-Slave Robot System : Experimental Performance Evaluation for Medical Application)

  • In this work, 4 DOF ER haptic master is proposed and integrated with a slave robot for minimally invasive surgery (MIS). Using a controllable ER fluid, the haptic master can generate a repulsive force/torque with the 4-DOF motion. For realization of master-slave robot system, the motion command of the haptic master is realized by slave surgery robot. In order to follow the 4 DOF motion of the haptic master, novel mechanism of slave surgery robot with gimbal joint is devised. Accordingly, the haptic master-slave robot system is established by incorporating the slave robot with the haptic master device in which the desired repulsive force/torque and position are transferred to each other via wireless communications. In order to obtain the desired force/torque and position trajectories, tracking controllers for haptic master and slave robot are designed and implemented, respectively. It has been demonstrated that the desired effective torque tracking control performance is well achieved using the proposed haptic master-slave robot system.

자동변속기용 토크컨버터 토러스 사이즈에 따른 팽창 현상 (A Ballooning Phenomenon of Torque Converter Torus Size for Automatic Transmissions)

  • The torque converter is deformed according to the rotating speed and control pressure when engine power is transferred to the transmission. This deformation, which is called ballooning phenomenon, occurs mainly at the outer side by the centrifugal force of the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) and the control pressure from the valve body. Although the torque converter is slightly deformed when rotating, the ballooning phenomenon affects fluid performance, efficiency and durability. Thus, expansion characteristics analysis is important in determining torus size, control pressure and structure. In this paper, an analysis equation and FEM model was developed to investigate the expansion characteristics. Using this model, structural analysis was performed to investigate the relationships between deformation and the torus diameter. The results were confirmed by comparing with the test results.

  • 본 논문에서는 복합재료를 이용하여 플렉스빔과 토크튜브를 제작하기 위한 공정과 기본 물리량 시험과정을 소개하였다. 플렉스빔과 토크튜브는 헬리콥터에 적용되는 무베어링 로터 허브 시스템을 구성하기 위한 핵심 구성품이다. 토크튜브는 블레이드의 피치각을 변화시키기 위한 조종력을 전달하며, 플렉스빔은 구조적인 변형을 통해 플랩, 래그 및 페더링 힌지를 구현하는 기능을 담당한다. 지상회전시험을 수행하기에 앞서 플렉스빔과 토크튜브 및 블레이드의 플랩강성, 래그강성 및 토션강성을 측정하기 위한 기본 물리량 시험을 수행하였다. 또한, 해석을 통해 예측된 단면 강성과 기본 물리량을 통해 획득된 강성 값을 비교하였으며, 그 결과를 통해 복합재료로 제작된 플렉스빔과 토크튜브가 구조적인 강성 요구도를 만족함을 확인할 수 있었다.

반송용 SLIM의 추력제에에 의한 운전특성 (A Operating by the Direct Thrust Control of SLIM in Conveyor System)

  • In this paper, the thrust control of PWM Inverter-Fed SLIM(Single-sided Linear Induction Motor) is achieved with Space Vector control and PI control. The trembling of air gap length which is occurred between the primary winding core and the secondary structure of the SLIM must be minimized in order to get quick response characteristics. First, the equivalent circuits and voltage equations of SLIM are shown on th suitable d-q axis which analyze characteristics of the thrust and the normal force. Also, modeling and analysis of the equivalent circuits transferred d-q axis are able to make robust transient torque from the current regulation in the equivalent circuit. These results exemplified the direct drive of SLIM with the reference speed and torque were verified by experiments.

  • For the application of monitoring system of the machine tool to industry, the requirements such as high reliability and low cost need to be satisfied. In this study, a reliable but inexpensive monitoring method for machine tool is introduced. To improve the monitoring reliability, several kinds of information related to machining and operation are selected; real-time video clip from USB camera, operation data and signal from CNC and feed motor torque. Especially, to improve the quality of real-time video clip, a camera housing is developed, it can significantly reduce the vibration effect and prevent from coolant and chip. The collected information are transferred to the monitoring terminals in remote sites using OPC and TCP/IP protocol over Ethernet, which give us convenience of development and interoperability.

6상 영구자석 동기전동기의 고장대응운전을 위한 3상 구동시스템 전환 알고리즘 (Three Phase Drive Transfer Algorithm for Fault Tolerance Control of Six-Phase PMSM)

  • Six-phase motors can be used in industrial applications, such as an electric vehicle, due to their high reliability and low current magnitude per phase. An asymmetrical PMSM with two sets of three-phase windings is a commonly used structure for six-phase motors, with each winding set demonstrating a phase difference of 30°. Although the asymmetrical PMSM presents low torque ripples, its dynamic torque response deteriorates due to coupled components in the two three-phase windings. The decoupled VSD control is applied to eliminate the coupling effect. Load ratio control of two inverters for the six-phase PMSM is proposed in this study. DQ currents are controlled on the basis of two synchronous reference frames, and the six-phase drive system can be changed to a three-phase drive system when one inverter presents fault conditions. The operation and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified through simulation and experiments. The six-phase drive system is transferred to a three-phase drive system by changing the current reference of the second DQ reference frame. Moreover, control of both torque and speed exhibits satisfactory performance before and after the mode change.

연질 골에서 두 종류의 테이퍼 형태 임플란트의 초기 안정성에 관한 실험실적 연구 (In Vitro Study on the Initial Stability of Two Tapered Dental Implant Systems in Poor Bone Quality)

  • 임플란트의 성공은 식립 후의 초기 안정성 (Initial stability)의 결과가 중요한 영향을 준다. 이 연구의 목적은 연질 골에서 두 종류의 테이퍼 형태 임플란트가 임플란트의 디자인과 self-tapping blade의 유무에 따라서 초기 안정성에 주는 영향을 알아보는 것이다. Self-tapping blade를 가지고 있는 것과 가지고 있지 않은 두 종류의 테이퍼 형태 임플란트가 사용되었다. Solid Rigid Polyurethane Form으로 연질 골 상태인 D4 골 모형을 재현하였다. 임플란트 고정체를 식립하면서 초기 안정성 값을 기록하고, 식립 직후 implant stability quotient (ISQ)을 측정하여 Resonance frequency Analysis (RFA)를 평가하였다. 마지막으로 임플란트가 식립된 모형골을 만능 시험기에 부착하여 장축 방향으로의 pull-out force를 측정하였다. 초기 안정성 값과 최대 pull-out torque 값은 non self-tapping implants가 self-tapping group에 비하여 통계학적으로 유의하게 큰 평균값을 나타냈다 (P = 0.008). 공진 주파수 분석 결과인 ISQ 값은 거의 비슷한 평균값을 보였으면 통계학적으로 차이가 없었다. 각 임플란트 시스템에서 식립 토크와 pull-out 최대 토크 그리고 공진 주파수 간에는 상관관계를 나타내지 않았다. Non self-tapping 임플란트의 높은 식립 토크는 임상적으로 우수한 초기 안정성을 의미한다. 결론적으로 연질 골에서 self-tapping blade가 없는 임플란트가 있는 것 보다 더 우수한 초기 안정성을 보였다.

Colonoscopy Training Simulator

  • This paper presents a new colonoscopy training simulator that includes a specialized haptic device and graphics algorithms to transfer haptic sensation through a long and flexible tube, and manage large number of polygons. The developed haptic device makes the colonoscope tube move along the two guiding rods in the translational direction. The torque of the roll motion is transferred by a timing belt and pulleys. A special guide is developed, which allows the force and torque from the motors to be transmitted to the user without loss. The haptic device is evaluated by physicians. One of the important skills of the colonoscopy, jiggling is incorporated for the first time by the developed sensor mechanism using photo-sensors. A colonoscope handle that shares the look, feel, and functions with the actual colonoscope, is developed with the necessary electronics inside. The number of polygons is reduced by an edge-collapse algorithm for real-time simulation. The algorithms to import CT data, to segment the colon image, to extract centerline of the colon, and to construct the colon surface, are integrated into a Colon Modeling Kit system that performs all these processes in real-time.

  • In this paper, a control algorithm for a servo manipulator is focused on. A servo manipulator system has been developed for remotely handling radioactive materials in a hot cell. It is driven by servo motors. The torque from a servo motor is transferred through a reducer to the corresponding axis. The PID control algorithm is a simple and effective algorithm for such application. However, since friction degrades the algorithm's performance, friction has to be considered and compensated. The major aberrations are the positional tracking errors and the limit cycle. The authors have considered a switching term to a conventional PID algorithm to reduce the friction's effect. It has been tested by a hardware test.

  • Korean Train Express (KTX) has opened to commercial traffic since 2004 at maximum speed 300km/h, and Korea High-speed Railway (HSR-350x) was developed by Korean government, several institutes, and related companies. HSR-350x is now being investigated its performance and tested at the high speed line. In 2004 December, HSR-350x was run over 350km/h and proved its running performance. These high speed railways have 12 motors to transfer the traction effort or the braking force. In this paper, authors propose the construction the measurement system for monitoring the force transferred to the train from the motor. The system is installed to the tripod shaft which is located between the reduction gears and it measures the mechanical load directly.
