  • A new ZVS-CV PWM converter with power factor correction (PFC) function is presented in this paper. The new topology is a integration of a boost converter and a ZVS-CV topology in a single power conversion stage. The new converter can be regulated in pulse-width modulation (PWM) by universal integrated control circuits. Some design considerations are given in detail. A laboratory prototype has been implemented to show the feasibility of the approach and the analysis.

  • The Tychonoff product theorem is one of the most fundamental theorems in general topology. As is well-known, the proof of the Tychonoff product theorem relies on the axiom of choice. The converse was also conjectured by S. Kakutani and Kelley [1] then resolved this conjecture in his historical short note on 1950. However, the original proof due to Kelley has a flaw. According to this observation, we provide a correction of the proof in this paper.

  • In this paper, a low cost bridgeless interleaved power factor correction topology for electric vehicle charger application is proposed. With the proposed topology the number of switches, inductors, current sensors and associated circuits can be reduced, thereby reducing the cost of the system as compared to the conventional bridgeless PFC circuit. The reduced input current ripple by the proposed interleaved topology makes it suitable for high power applications such as electric vehicle chargers since it can reduce the size of the inductor core and the Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) problem. In the proposed topology only one current sensor is required. All the boost inductor currents can be reconstructed by sampling the output current and used to control the input current. Therefore the typical problem caused by the unequal current gain of each current sensor inherently does not exist in the proposed topology. In addition the current sharing between converters can be achieved more accurately and the high frequency distortion is decreased. The performance of the proposed converter is verified by the experimental results with a prototype of 6.6kW bridgeless interleaved PFC circuit.

  • An active balun using current steering for phase correction is presented. The proposed active balun is constructed with two different unit balun structures based on current steering to reduce phase and amplitude errors. This type of topology can be compared with the conventional phase and amplitude correction techniques which do not incorporate the current steering. Designed and fabricated active balun in $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process operates over 0.95 - 1.45 GHz band, showing input reflection coefficient under -15 dB, phase error of $11^{\circ}$ and gain error of 0.5 dB. Gain is measured to be 0.3 dB maximum and power consumption of 7.2 mW is measured.

  • High Power factor Active Filter converter is used for Inverter Air conditioner power supply to meet IEC standard. In the active filter topology for power factor, extra switch just control the input current indirectly to meet the IEC standard for reducing the cost and size. In this paper, low cost converter was suggested by simulation using extra switch which auxiliary pulse is inserted and quasi resonant soft switching topology control is adapted for panel's inverter air conditioner converter Inserting auxiliary Pulse method to the extra switch has the benefit of reducing THD by low cost input control circuit. And also quasi resonant soft switching topology can reduce switching loss. So both technical is suitable for Panel's Air conditioner.

  • One of the well known results in general topology says that every compact subset of a Hausdorff space is closed. This result in soft topology is not true in general as demonstrated throughout this note. We begin this investigation by showing that [Theorem 3.34, p.p.23] which proposed by Varol and $Ayg{\ddot{u}}n$ [7] is invalid in general, by giving a counterexample. Then we derive under what condition this result can be generalized in soft topology. Finally, we evidence that [Example 3.22, p.p. 20] which introduced in [7] is false, and we make a correction for this example to satisfy a condition of soft Hausdorffness.

  • An single stage AC/DC converter based on half bridge topology suitable for low power level applications is proposed. The proposed converter has high power factor, low harmonic distortion, and tight output regulations. Asymmetrical control and synchronous rectification are adopted to reduce the switching loss and rectification loss, respectively. The modelling employing average modelling method and detailed analysis are performed to derive the design equations. According to these design equations, a prototype converter has been designed and experimented. This prototype meets the IEC 555-2 regulations with near unity power factor and high efficiency.

  • On the active filter converter for power factor correction is used inverter for a air-conditioner's power supply to meet IEC standard In the active filter topology for power factor correction, extra switch only control the input current indirectly to satisfied with the IEC standard for reducing the cost and size. In this paper, by dividing the input current into two different modes, the current conduction period can be widened and harmonics can largely be canceled between the two modes. Hence, the harmonics characteristics can be significantly improved, whereby the lower order harmonics, such as the fifth and seventh orders, are much reduced. The results are confirmed by theoretical and experimental implementations.

  • This paper presents a digital-controlled single-phase power-factor correction (PFC) converter operating in critical current conduction mode. The proposed converter utilizes the DC-DC boost converter topology for the PFC and operates the inductor current in critical conduction mode. Because the proposed converter is controlled digitally using a micom, its control circuit is simplified and the converter operates more effectively. This paper first explains the operational principles of the proposed converter and then analyzes the converter circuit. And this paper explains the implementation method of proposed converter with a detail design example, which is divided into software and circuit design parts. Also, it is shown through the experimental results of the prototype converter by the designed circuit parameters that the proposed converter has good performance as a single-phase PFC converter.
