Factors of Successful Development of Smart Cities

  • The increase in the number of large cities and the size of their population sharpens attention to the new role of cities as entities to ensure a high-quality, safe and modern life of citizens, which has become significantly more active in recent years. The rapid spread of smart cities in the modern world has actualized the issue of analyzing their success and assessing the role of various factors in this. Every success of a smart city is always the result of a unique combination of the most modern technologies, environmental and social initiatives, skillful and consistent management, as well as available human potential. The purpose of the article is to analyze the success factors of smart cities based on the generalization of the results of the most famous ratings. In order to identify the impact of various factors, primarily intellectual, on the success and leadership positions of smart cities, the following ratings were consistently analyzed: Smart City Index (SCI), City in Motion Index (CIMI), Global Power City Index (GPCI), Global Cities Index (GCI), Global Cities Outlook (GCO). They have a different list of indicators and main pillars (dimensions), but all ratings take into account aspects such as: governance, ICT, mobility, functionality, human capital, etc. The highest correlation coefficient, that is, the strongest linear relationship of the CIMI index was found with such factors as: Human capital, Economy, Governance and Technologies. Summarizing the results of the TOP 20 smart cities according to different ratings allowed us to confirm that the list of leaders is very similar in all ratings. Among those cities that are in the TOP-20 in all five indexes are: London, Sydney and Singapore. There are four indices: New York, Paris, Tokyo, Copenhagen, Berlin, Amsterdam, Melbourne. Achieving leadership positions in smart city rankings is always the result of a combination and synergy of certain factors, and first of all, it is the quality of human capital. The intensity and success of the use of information and communication technologies in locality management processes, city planning and improvement of the city's living conditions depend on it.

디지털콘텐츠 OTT서비스의 지속사용의도에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Factors Affecting the Continuous Intention to Use Digital Content Over-the-Top Service)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the factors that influence the pre-use expectation and the continuous usage intention of the OTT services. Methods: For empirical analysis, the survey for this study was administered with many anonymous people who had previously used any of the OTT services and valid 192 data were analyzed by SPSS and PLS-SEM. Results: The results of this study are as follows. Personalization and understandability in the information quality didn't significantly affect confirmation. Ease of use and search of the system quality significantly affected confirmation. Also, it was found that content diversity, content recency, and content playfulness as the characteristics of the content quality significantly affected the expectation confirmation. OTT service fees also significantly affected the expectation confirmation. It also significantly affected perceived usefulness and satisfaction. Finally, satisfaction positively influenced the continuouse intention to use. Conclusion: The findings of this empirical analysis shows that the specific characteristics related to the relationship of expectation confirmation, perceived usefulness, satisfaction, and continuous usage intention with respect to OTT services through the Post Acceptance Model (PAM). Because system quality, content quality, and service fees meeted users' expectations, OTT services need a strategy that can boost the users' positive perceptions or experiences by reinforcing these three factors.

기술경영과 신제품개발 성과와의 관계분석 -중규모 제조기업을 중심으로- (Analysis on the Relationship of MOT and NPD Performance -Medium-Sized Manufacturing Firms-)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라 중규모 제조기업에서 전기전자, 기계 및 엔지니어링, 부품 소재산업을 모집단으로 하고 이들 모집단에서 전기전자 부문 12개 기업, 기계 및 엔지니어링 부문 18개 기업, 부품 소재 부문 16개 기업 등을 표본으로 선정하여 이들 표본기업의 기술경영의 실태를 분석하고 기술경영의 펙터가 신제품개발 성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 기술경영 펙터 중에 CTO를 비롯한 최고경영층의 기술경영에 대한 의지는 비교적 높게 나타났으나 그 외 사업전략과 기술전략의 연계성, 개방형 연구개발 시스템, 체계적 일정관리, 연구개발 인력관리, 제품수명주기관리 시스템 개발과 적용 등은 보통보다 조금 높은 수준인 것으로 나타난 점으로 볼 때 이들 각 분야에 대한 중요성의 인식과 더불어 보다 많은 노력을 강구하여야 할 필요성을 알 수 있다. 또한 가설검정 결과에서 이들 중규모 기업들이 신제품개발성과(신제품개발 기간 단축, 제품수명주기에 부합, 제품경쟁력 증대)를 높이기 위해서는 기술경영에 대한 최고경영층의 확고한 의지와 지원이 따라야 하고 사업전략과 기술전략의 연계성을 반드시 고려하여야 하며 신제품개발 일정관리를 체계적으로 하고 개방형 연구개발 시스템을 강화하며 연구개발 인력관리와 특히 PLM시스템 개발과 적용을 동시에 수행하여야 함을 알 수 있다.

ISO14001인증 녹색기업과 환경위반 기업의 특성 연구 (A Study on Characteristics of Green Companies and Environment Rule Violation Companies)

  • 국내뿐 아니라 전 세계적으로 환경문제가 이슈화 되면서 저탄소 녹색성장이라는 수식어는 정치, 경제, 사회 등 전 영역에서 자주 사용되고 있다. 저탄소 녹색성장 정책으로 환경에 대한 관심이 증대되고 있으며, 정부는 환경보호와 환경관리를 위해 환경규제강화와 친환경정책을 함께 펴고 있다. 본 연구는 녹색기업과 환경규제위반기업간의 특성차이를 실증분석 하였다. 환경의식, 재무적 능력, 기업의 구조적 특성 및 기술적 특성 등 기업의 특성과 기업의 환경친화성과의 관계를 실증분석 하였다. 가설은 환경관리 담당자들과의 인터뷰와 기존연구를 바탕으로 설정하였으며 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 녹색기업과 환경규제위반기업간의 특성관계에서 기존연구의 결과와 달리 환경의식의 대위변수인 지배주주지분율은 유의한 결과를 얻지 못하고 기각되었으나 ISO 14001 인증여부는 유의한 결과를 보이고 있어 환경성과에 영향을 주고 있음을 확인하였다. 둘째 기업의 재무적 능력은 녹색기업과 환경규제위반기업간의 특성에서 유의한 결과를 얻지 못하고 기각되었다. 이는 환경성과와 재무능력은 관련이 없다는 것으로 재무성과가 더 좋은 기업이거나 나쁜 기업일지라도 반드시 환경성과에 영향을 주는 것이 아니라는 것을 시사하고 있다. 셋째, 기업의 구조적 특성은 녹색기업과 환경규제위반기업간의 관계에서 기존연구와 다른 결과를 보여주고 있다. 자본집약도의 지표인 유형자산비중과 수출비중은 기각되었고 종업원비중은 유의한 결과를 얻었지만 기존연구와 반대의 결과로 종업원비중이 높은 기업이 환경규제를 위반한다는 결과를 보이고 있다. 넷째, 기술적인 능력이 환경성과에 영향을 준다는 유의한 결과를 얻었는데 그 결과는 기존연구와 같다는 것을 확인하였다. 즉 연구개발투자비중이 높을수록 환경규제를 준수한다는 것으로 확인되었는데, 이는 녹색기업이 환경규제위반기업보다 연구개발투자를 많이 하고 있으며 환경기술능력을 향상시켜 환경관리를 잘 하고 있음을 확인하였다.

병원 간호사의 환자안전관리활동 영향요인 연구 (Factors Affecting Patient Safety Management Activities at Nursing Divisions of Two University Hospitals)

  • This study was conducted to find out factors affecting patient safety management activities at nursing devisions of two university hospitals. The indicators of patient safety activities used in the study were selected from Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture which was developed by The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality in the United States. Data were collected from 372 nurses working at inpatient wards at two university hospitals located in Seoul and Won-Ju cities through the self-administered questionnaires, and analyzed using frequency analysis, t-test, correlation, and regression analysis. The result of this study were as follows. First, The mean of patient safety management activities was 3.41 which was a little bit higher than the average level. The mean of communication within the ward was the highest, whereas that of patient safety management culture was the lowest. Second, there were significant differences in the perception of nurses on patient safety management activities in terms of the educational background, length of employment, and work hours per week. Third, three variables of communication within the unit, attitude of top management, and attitude of nurses have significant positive effects on patient safety management activities. Fourth, 37.4% of the variation in the patient safety management activities was explained by the study variables. In conclusion, hospital administration and nursing managers should make an effort to learn the knowledge of patient safety program, show their deep interest on the patient safety to the employees and motivate them to communicate effectively each other within the work unit to develop a good patient safety culture and system.

  • In this paper we describe SLA metrics and software architecture for newly upcoming IP TV service. Firstly we show the general description for IP TV. This consists of brief description of IP TV, the general figure of configuration and elements of IP TV network and communication protocol stack of IP TV data transmission for deriving communication quality parameter. And we propose SLA metrics depending on quality measurement point. According to the measurement point the measurable SLA metrics are different. The total view of the IP TV SLA measurement and management architecture is shown. When the quality measurement point is the routers that consist of internet node, the IP media NMS is the quality collection system. And when the quality measurement point is the IP TV STB(Set-Top Box), the IP media collector and Quality Collection Server are the quality collection system. And we show the software block diagram of IP TV SLA processing system and the other related network management systems.

  • For an effective propulsion of TQC, it is necessary to get a suitable modeling in consideration with characteristics of system, human view and the traditional background. This method must be developed as the way of a firm top policy, considering the latest tendency of emphasizing quality of job. For this purpose it is planned to promote the synthetic use of all the managing technology on basis of the human nature and the human creativity in applying the way of function analysis to the TQC program in this paper. A characteristics of this paper is the applying not the materials or products but the functional analysis of job in value engineering to TQC program.

  • Some of the steel works and machine tool manufacturers representing the whole spectrum of these industries in Korea are surveyed with a viewpoint from total quality control. The operation of quality control system in these fields has been found to be unsatisfactory partly because these industries are relatively young compared with those in advanced foreign countries, and partly because there have been insufficient financial and top management support. Some suggestions are made for the improvement of steel and machine tools quality. One of them is introducing the industrial engineering techniques, with additional quality control costs and full management support, into the company-wide quality control system.

  • Customer satisfaction is undoubtedly one of the top strategic issues in the new decade. Today, many organizations are rushing to become more customer focused. A key component of many initiatives is the implementation of customer satisfaction software. In this paper, we provide a case study for customer satisfaction management in a city gas company. The three issues include the plan for giving premiums and the development of a happycall system and a web-based measurement system for customer satisfaction.

인터넷 웹사이트 평가모형 도출에 관한 탐색적 연구 (Study on investigative driving an evaluation model for Internet website)

  • As attention to the Internet from both companies and individuals is rapidly on the increase, hundreds of new websites are opening in a single day. Along with such a high attention to the Internet, to set up an effective website needs efficient evaluation and reliable evaluation criterions for the website. The existing homepage contests and evaluation models are limited to certain websites in a special field or to the systemic side and to the contents, which in fact weakened the development of detailed evaluation sections and items possibly measured. This study is designed to integrate and seek out methods and success factors that should be considered when a website is built up, discovering evaluation criterions and making evaluation models objectively possible to be measured. The study focused on investigation into a new measurement standard and model by considering the previous studies, in order to suggest the followings: Centering the 7 top evaluation sections by type of each website such as (1) Service, (2) Mechanism, (3) Structure & Navigation, (4) Usability, (5) Contents (6) Community, (7) Communication, the study suggests an objective and reasonable website evaluation model on a basis of common factors considered in an integral and optimum view.
