Purpose: This study aimed to generate virtual mandibular left first molar teeth using deep convolutional generative adversarial networks (DCGANs) and analyze their matching accuracy with actual tooth morphology to propose a new paradigm for using medical data. Methods: Occlusal surface images of the mandibular left first molar scanned using a dental model scanner were analyzed using DCGANs. Overall, 100 training sets comprising 50 original and 50 background-removed images were created, thus generating 1,000 virtual teeth. These virtual teeth were classified based on the number of cusps and occlusal surface ratio, and subsequently, were analyzed for consistency by expert dental technicians over three rounds of examination. Statistical analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics ver. 23.0 (IBM), including intraclass correlation coefficient for intrarater reliability, one-way ANOVA, and Tukey's post-hoc analysis. Results: Virtual mandibular left first molars exhibited high consistency in the occlusal surface ratio but varied in other criteria. Moreover, consistency was the highest in the occlusal buccal lingual criteria at 91.9%, whereas discrepancies were observed most in the occusal buccal cusp criteria at 85.5%. Significant differences were observed among all groups (p<0.05). Conclusion: Based on the classification of the virtually generated left mandibular first molar according to several criteria, DCGANs can generate virtual data highly similar to real data. Thus, subsequent research in the dental field, including the development of improved neural network structures, is necessary.
FRC/ceromer system provides the clinician with a durable, flexible, and esthetic alternative to conventional porcelain fused to metal crowns. FRC is the matrix which is silica-coated and embedded in a resin matrix. The ceromer material which is a second generation indirect composite resin contains silanized, microhybrid inorganic fillers embedded in a light-curing organic matrix. FRC/ceromer restoration has a several advantages: better shock absorption, less wear of occluding teeth, translucency, color stability, bonding ability to dental hard tissues, and resiliency. It has versatility of use including inlay, onlay, single crown, and esthetic veneers. With adhesive technique, it can be used for single tooth replacement in forms of inlay adhesion bridge. In single tooth missing case, conventional PFM bridge has been used for esthetic restoration. However, this restoration has several disadvantages such as high cost, potential framework distortion during fabrication, and difficulty in repairing fractures. Inlay adhesion bridge with FRC/ceromer would be a good alternative treatment plan. This article describes a cases restored with Targis/Vectris inlay adhesion bridge. Tooth preparation guide, fabrication procedure, and cementation procedure of this system will be dealt. The strength/weakness of this restoration will be mentioned, also. If it has been used appropriately in carefully selected case, it can satisfy not only dentist's demand of sparing dental hard tissue but also patient's desire of seeking a esthetic restorations with a natural appearance.
Traditionally, tooth restoration has been carried out by replicating teeth using plaster-based materials. However, recent technological advances have simplified the production process through the introduction of computer-aided design(CAD) systems. Nevertheless, dental restoration varies among individuals, and the skill level of dental technicians significantly influences the accuracy of the manufacturing process. To address this challenge, this paper proposes an approach to designing personalized tooth restorations using Generative Adversarial Network(GAN), a widely adopted technique in computer vision. The primary objective of this model is to create customized dental prosthesis for each patient by utilizing 3D data of the specific teeth to be treated and their corresponding opposite tooth. To achieve this, the 3D dental data is converted into a depth map format and used as input data for the GAN model. The proposed model leverages the network architecture of Pixel2Style2Pixel, which has demonstrated superior performance compared to existing models for image conversion and dental prosthesis generation. Furthermore, this approach holds promising potential for future advancements in dental and implant production.

In this review, the regulatory mechanisms of autophagy were described, and its interaction with apoptosis was identified. The role of autophagy in embryogenesis, tooth development, and cell differentiation were also investigated. Autophagy is regulated by various autophagy-related genes and those related to stress response. Highly active autophagy occurrences have been reported during cell differentiation before implantation after fertilization. Autophagy is involved in energy generation and supplies nutrients during early birth, essential to compensate for their deficient supply from the placenta. The contribution of autophagy during tooth development, such as the shape of the crown and root formation, ivory, and homeostasis in cells, was also observed. Genes control autophagy, and studying the role of autophagy in cell differentiation and development was useful for understanding human aging, illness, and health. In the future, the role of specific mechanisms in the development and differentiation of autophagy may increase the understanding of the pathological mechanisms of disease and development processes and is expected to reduce the treatment of various diseases by modulating the autophagic phenomenon.
In this investigation, the authors propose a novel method of Enveloping Helical gear generation by shaping operation and a math model to simulate its manufacturing process. The tooth geometry of the Enveloping Helical Gear is analytically determined by simulating the conjugate motion between the workpiece(Enveloping Helical gear) and cutting tool(shaper cutter) in the generation process. It is expected that such math modeling capability will give engineers an opportunity to correct manufacturing related issues in the design phase and thereby reduce the developing period.
When designing a gerotor, designers determine basic dimensions of a gerotor with transmitted power considering strength, interference and so on. But, designers can not easily obtain the tooth profile generated by dimensions as well as the geometry of generating hob for cutting the tooth profile. In order to resolve these problems, an automatic design system creating not only the solid model of a gerotor but also that of the generating hob using the design parameters of dimensions is developed. Through the developed system, designers can improve the efficiency of design and satisfy the variable requirements of design as well. In this research, the three-dimensional solid model of gerotor is generated considering the design parameters. Besides, that of generating hob with respect to the design parameters of hob is created automatically. The system is developed using Visual Basic and its three-dimensional geometric modeling module is constructed using SolidWorks.
In this paper, a practical method for design and machining of cycloid gear was investigated. Based on the proposed method, a systematic program was developed for automatically designing the tooth profiles of epicycloid and hypocycloid gears for the case fo one difference between the number of teeth of cycloid gear and the number coordinates of tooth profiles and pressure angles. The error analysis between cycloid curve and Biarc curve was performed to show the effective method of equidistant partitioning of cycloid curve so that efficient method of Biarc curve fitting was also proposed for the partitioned curve.
Wireless communication systems will be one of the biggest drivers of semiconductor products over the next decade. Global Positioning System (GPS) and Blue-tooth, HomeRF, and Wireless-LNA system are just a few of RF-module candidate awaiting integration into next generation mobile phone. Motivated by the growing needs for lowcost and multi-band/multi-function single chip wireless transceivers, CMOS technology has been recognized as a most promising candidate for the implementation of the future wireless communication systems. This paper presents recent developments in RF CMOS technology so far, much of them have been developed in ETRI, and from them forecasts technology trends in the near future.

The tooth profile of helical gear that is manufactured by the rack cutter consists of the involute curve and the trochoid curve. However, gear designers are very hard to calculate the exact profile because it needs very complex information about the gear manufacturing. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop the automatic generation program for the helical gear using the Solid Works API. First, involute and trochoide coordinates by the rack cutter are calculated. Using the data, Visual Basic program for the helical gear model is coded. This work gives us the quick helical gear modeling and can be used as the modeling for the finite element analysis.
