The Study on Korean Phoneme for Korean Speech Recogintion

  • In this paper, we studied on the phoneme classification for Korean speech recognition. In the case of making large vocabulary speech recognition system, it is better to use phoneme than syllable or word as recognition unit. And, In order to study the difference of speech recognition according to the number of phoneme as recognition unit, we used the speech toolkit of OGI in U.S.A as recognition system. The result showed that the performance of diphthong being unified was better than that of seperated diphthongs, and we required the better result when we used the biphone than when using mono-phone as recognition unit.

  • 임베디드 데이터베이스 시스템은 사용 목적과 환경에 따라 탑재되는 DBMS 요구 사항이 다르기 때문에 임베디드 시스템 구현시 마다 DBMS를 재개발하여야 하는 문제가 있다. 이러한 DBMS를 단일 통합된 코드 형태로 개발하는 것은 코드 재사용성과 유연성이 낮아 비생산적이다. 본 논문에서는 임베디드 시스템에서 사용되는 DBMS 기능에 따라 분리하여 컴포넌트화된 DBMS를 구성해주는 도구의 설계를 소개한다. 컴포넌트 대상은 SQL 인터페이스, SQL 언어 지원 레벨, 동시성 제어 모듈, 인덱싱 모듈, 회복 관리자 등이다. 도구는 빠르고 유연한 임베디드 데이터베이스 개발시 생산성을 높일 수 있다.

  • Grid란 네트워크로 연결된 가상의 슈퍼컴퓨터를 말하는 것으로 Grid Middleware Toolkit인 Globus가 대표적인 구현물이다 Globus는 사용자에게 Grid의 상태 정보를 제공하는 방법으로 RSL에 의한 Query와 MDS의 LDAP프로토콜을 통한 query로 나뉘어진다. 그러나 이런 방법들은 다이나믹한 환경에서의 잦은 정보의 변화로 인해 query나 실시간적인 자료의 처리가 요구되는 시스템에서 긴 query response로 인해 효과적이지 않다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 MDS 서비스에서의 자료의 저장 방법 및 자원 할당방법에 대해 살펴보도록 하겠다.

  • 공장자동화는 최근 급격히 발전하고 있는 분야로서 부가가치가 매우 높은 산업에 속한다. 공장자동화는 자동화를 구성하는 기계장치뿐만 아니라 기계의 전반적인 운영을 담당하는 소프트웨어 또한 큰 비중을 차지하고 있다. 결국, 공장자동화를 통해 생산되는 제품의 품질은 기계 장치의 정밀도, 견고성 등의 측면과 함께 운영 소프트웨어의 품질로부터 받는 영향도 무시할 수 없다. 본 연구 과제에서는 공장자동화 소프트웨어의 한 유형인 FMS (Flexible Manufacturing System)나 Cell Controller를 중심으로 품질평가를 수행할 수 있는 평가 메트릭과 방법을 개발하고 이를 적용하여 효율적인 평가를 수행할 수 있는 툴킷의 프로토타입을 설계하고 구현하였다.

  • NLTKo는 한국어 분석 도구들을 NLTK에 결합하여 사용할 수 있게 만든 도구이다. NLTKo는 전처리 도구, 토크나이저, 형태소 분석기, 세종 의미사전, 분류 및 기계번역 성능 평가 도구를 추가로 제공한다. 이들은 기존의 NLTK 함수와 동일한 방법으로 사용할 수 있도록 구현하였다. 또한 세종 의미사전을 제공하여 한국어 동의어/반의어, 상/하위어 등을 제공한다. NLTKo는 한국어 자연어처리를 위한 교육에 도움이 될 것으로 믿는다.

  • In this paper, we propose software architecture for conveying contents-based OpenSound Control (OSC) packet from manipulation user interface to cooperative remote multi-robots. The Flash application is used as a controlling user interface and the physical prototyping of multi-robots were developed using physical prototyping toolkit.

A Study on Recognition Units and Methods to Align Training Data for Korean Speech Recognition) (한국어 인식을 위한 인식 단위와 학습 데이터 분류 방법에 대한 연구)

  • This is the study on recognition units and segmentation of phonemes. In the case of making large vocabulary speech recognition system, it is better to use the segment than the syllable or the word as the recognition unit. In this paper, we study on the proper recognition units and segmentation of phonemes for Korean speech recognition. For experiments, we use the speech toolkit of OGI in U.S.A. The result shows that the recognition rate of the case in which the diphthong is established as a single unit is superior to that of the case in which the diphthong is established as two units, i.e. a glide plus a vowel. And recognizer using manually-aligned training data is a little superior to that using automatically-aligned training data. Also, the recognition rate of the case in which the bipbone is used as the recognition unit is better than that of the case in which the mono-Phoneme is used.

  • In this paper, I explain the design and implementation of an automated drawing system by communicating with a user. I made a system providing an UI for virtual environmental actual robot to interwork with environment to make a drawing that I was able to read work, and to help convenience of a user in computers. The UI of a system was used the AWT(Abstract Window Toolkit) in NetBean tools. To draw images, I got image information from SVG vector files. This system can make images according to the demand of users by using real-time communication. Also this kind of drawing process can be an artists performance, not only the final image as a result of the work. So I suggest that this real-time drawing process which is operated by user’s command can be considered as an artists performance.

  • The purpose of this study is to design and develop a mobile game using J2ME, which is currently the most popular choice for game development to understand the process of mobile game development and to develop methods that address weaknesses of J2ME. The development was done with the Eclipse IDE(Integrated Development Environment) tool to simplify mobile game development by removing the need for complex commands and installation processes which are intrinsic to the DOS command Batch file arid J2ME Wireless Toolkit when used for the implementation of java mobile games. Literature was also reviewed on mobile game environments, the structures of J2ME Platform, and past research on mobile games, to investigate which parts of J2ME are important to the characteristics of mobile game development and how to implement these important parts when developing.

A Theoretical Review on Place Branding as a Major Toolkit of Soft Regional Development (연성(軟性) 지역개발의 주요 수단으로서 장소브랜딩에 관한 이론적 고찰과 과제)

  • This article focuses on reviewing place branding theories as a major toolkit of 'soft regional development'. Place branding provides sophisticate methodologies to strengthen city and regional image and identity. For effective place marketing practices, four of useful place branding tools are suggested. They include the methodology of place identity development, brand leadership system in local governance, construction of city brand architecture, and evaluation model for city brand equity. A process model is suggested for systematically organizing the diverse tools of place marketing and branding. The model is expected to be used as a framework of strategical soft regional development and planning. The place branding process model is to be an important theoretical and methodological basement of postmodern urban and regional development on which creativity, symbol and signs are more emphasized. More in-depth theoretical and empirical studies are needed. Geographical tradition and knowledge can play important roles in this inter-disciplinary process.
