IFC converters and viewers, applicable in the construction field, are being actively developed while, in the civil engineering field, IFC schemata are being developed. To prove the IFC schema grammatically, the existing ISO 10303 30s' pre-processors and post-processors may be used. However, to visually prove the IFC model, the existing commercial 3D modeling software should be converted into the IFC schema of civil engineering field, and a viewer is needed to view it. Thus, this study developed a IFC converter and viewer prototype system to apply BIM in the road field. To express the road line, LandXML was analyzed, and IFC suitable for expressing shapes in the road field was designed. Also, an IFC suitable for bridges with focus on representative bridge structures such as abuts, piers and decks was designed. Further, a converter was developed using AutoCAD's Civil3D and Revit's 3rdp party tools, and software was also developed designed to combine each converted IFC model into one IFC. In addition, a viewer designed to view IFC in the road field was developed to prove the converted IFC. Eight major verification and examination items were selected and used in testing the converted model, and it was confirmed that the viewer normally viewed the IFC schema in the road field. The proposed IFC converter is expected to be used as a visual IFC verification tool in the road field.
SLC6A19 which reported as a neurotransmitter was composed of seven minisatellites. In previous our study, the minisatellites variants of SLC6A19-MS7 showed the susceptibility for hypertension. When this minisatellte sequences were analyzed using the bioinformatic tool, USF1 (upstream transcription factor 1) was found in this region as a putative transcription factor binding site. USF1 is binding with E-boxes which has a consensus sequence of CACGTG. USF1 is a ubiquitously expressed transcription factor and involved in the transcriptional control of many genes including the molecular pathogenesis of cardiovascular disease. Thus, we investigated that the putative functional relationship between the minisatellites variants and susceptibility for myocardial infarction. A case-control study was performed that compared genomic DNA from 400 controls and 225 cases with myocardial infarction. There were no significant differences observed in the overall allelic distribution of minisatellites between controls and cases, which indicates that this polymorphism is not responsible for myocardial infarction susceptibility. Hence, we analyzed the five different minisatellites alleles from this study and characterized 14 different repeats units (Unit1~Unit14). Then, we evaluated the DNA composition, phylogenic tree, and pairwise distances of its repeats. The variability of each repeats differed from 2.33% to 16%. The phylogenic trees for the four SLC6A19-MS7 minisatellites exhibited very different shapes in their braches and distances, and present most common 8 repeats allele was the longest 14 repeats allele. Therefore, this result may help to understand for the evolutional level of the length of minisatellites.

This paper proposes a sketch drawing system called m-shaper for musical shape generation. Through simple sketch drawing, users can generate musical shape configuration which can be played by a computer. One key ingredient of the process is a unique concept for the interactive musical shape generation that combines shape and sound based on the designers' manual inputs. m-shaper captures the numerical values of drawing characteristics and determines how the musical notes and shapes can be generated. Using a tablet, four sketch movements are captured such as pressure, tilt, rotation and speed. Each point of a shape corresponds to a certain musical note that represents a type of instrument, duration, pitch, and octave. The current m-shaper has been developed as a computational tool for supporting the schematic design process. Designers in m-shaper draw geometric sketches with a musical inspiration and explore possible conceptual forms. They also can control the parameters for results and transform their sketch drawing.

In pattern recognition and image analysis upplications, a graph is a useful tool for complex obect representation and recognition. However it takes much time to pair proper nodes between the prototype graph and an input data graph. Futhermore it is difficult to decide whether the two graphs in a class are the same hecause real images are degradd in general by noise and other distortions. In this paper we propose a matching algorithm using a matrix. The matrix is suiable for simple and easily understood representation and enables the ordering and matching process to be convenient due to its predefined matrix manipulation. The nodes which constitute a gaph are ordered in the matrix by their geometrical positions and this makes it possible to save much comparison time for finding proper node pairs. for the classification, we defined a distance measure thatreflects the symbo's structural aspect that is the sum of the mode distance and the relation distance; the fornet is from the parameters describing the node shapes, the latter from the relations with othes node in the matrix. We also introduced a subdivision operation to compensate node merging which is mainly due t the prepreocessing error. The proposed method is applied to the recognition of musteal symbols and the result is given. The result shows that almost all, except heavily degraded symbols are recognized, and the recognition rate is approximately 95 percent.

The canonical correlation biplot is a 2-dimensional plot for graphically investigating the relationship between two sets of variables and the relationship between observations and variables in the canonical correlation analysis. Recently, Choi and Choi (2008) suggested a method for investigating the relationship between skill and competition score factors of KLPGA players using this biplot. Choi et al. (2010) used this biplot to analyze the player characteristic factors and competitive factors of tennis Grand Slam competition. Moreover, Huh (1999) provided a generalized canonical correlation analysis and biplot for more than three sets of variables. A Procrustes analysis is a useful tool for comparing shapes between configurations. This study will provide a method to investigate the relationship between physique, physical fitness and basic skill factors of tennis players in the Korea Tennis Association using a generalized canonical correlation biplot and Procrustes analysis.
At present, the design of extrusion dies and operation in extrusion companies are primarily based on trial and error. The experience of the die designer, the press operator and the die corrector determine the performance of the extrusion die and the efficiency of the process. In order to produce defect-free products of desirable quality in terms of strength, surface quality and geometrical dimensions, it is important to obtain more knowledge of the processes that occur during extrusion. Recently, to reduce the costs of designing and manufacturing of extrusion dies, and to ensure the quality of the extruded products, numerical simulation for extrusion processes such as FEM (finite element method) is applied increasingly and becomes a very important tool for the design and development of new products. However, most of the studies about FE simulation have been accomplished for simple geometry and low extrusion ratio in the filed of steady metal flow conditions. The extruded products of AI alloy in industrial practice involve complicated sectional geometry. This study was designed to reduce the time of die design and manufacturing in the extrusion process using FEM simulation. FEM simulations of extrusion process were performed in non-steady states conditions by changing weld plate included in extrusion die set. Product which was employed in this study is heat sink that has been used in the parts of heat exchanger of electric circuits. It is generally applied for aluminum or its alloys due to heat efficiency and easy production of complicated shapes, and manufactured by extrusion process. The simulated results showed that weld plate shape in extrusion dies influences meta] flow and dimensional accuracy of products.

Machining is the commonly used process in the manufacturing of prototypes. This process offers several advantages, such as rigidity of the machine, precision of the machine, precision of the operation and specially a quick delivery. The weight and immobility of the machine support and immobilize the part during the operation. However, despite these advantages it shows, machining still presents several limitations. The immobilization, location and support of the part are referred to as fixturing or workholding and present the biggest challenge for time efficient machining. So it is important to select and design the appropriate fixturing assembly. This assembly depends on the complexity of the part and the tool paths and may require the construction of dedicated fixtures. With traditional techniques, the range of fixturable shapes is limited and the identification of suitable fixtures in a given setup involves complex reasoning. To solve this limitation and to apply the automation, this paper presents the Reference Free Part Encapsulation(RFPE) and implementation of the encapsulation system. The feature-based modeling system and the encapsulation system are implemented. The small part of which it is difficult to find out the appropriate fixturing assembly is made by this system.
As limited well-documented experimental data are available for assessing the attributes of different deformation components of flanged walls, few appropriate models have been established for predicting the inelastic responses of flanged walls, especially those of asymmetrical flanged walls. This study presents the experimental results for three large-scale T-shaped reinforced concrete walls and examines the variations in the flexural, shear, and sliding components of deformation with the total deformation over the entire loading process. Based on the observed deformation behavior, a simple model based on moment-curvature analysis is established to estimate flexural deformations, in which the changes in plastic hinge length are considered and the deformations due to strain penetration are modeled individually. Based on the similar gross shapes of the curvature and shear strain distributions over the wall height, a proportional relationship is established between shear displacement and flexural rotation. By integrating the deformations due to flexure, shear, and strain penetration, a new load-deformation analytical model is proposed for flexure-dominant flanged walls. The proposed model provides engineers with a simple, accurate modeling tool appropriate for routine design work that can be applied to flexural walls with arbitrary sections and is capable of determining displacements at any position over the wall height. By further simplifying the analytical model, a simple procedure for estimating the ultimate displacement capacity of flanged walls is proposed, which will be valuable for performance-based seismic designs and seismic capacity evaluations.
In this paper, a new approach using a pixel-based correction method was developed to fix the non-uniform responses of flat-bed type scanners used for radiochromic film dosimetry. In order to validate the method's performance, two cases were tested: the first consisted of simple dose distributions delivered by a single port; the second was a complicated dose distribution composed of multiple beams. In the case of the simple individual dose condition, ten different doses, from 8.3 cGy to 307.1 cGy, were measured, horizontal profiles were analyzed using the pixel-based correcton method and compared with results measured by an ionization chamber and results corrected using the existing correction method. A complicated inverse pyramid dose distribution was made by piling up four different field shapes, which were measured with GAFCHROMIC$^{(R)}$EBT film and compared with the Monte Carlo calculation; as well as the dose distribution corrected using a conventional method. The results showed that a pixel-based correction method reduced dose difference from the reference measurement down to 1% in the flat dose distribution region or 2 mm in a steep dose gradient region compared to the reference data, which were ionization chamber measurement data for simple cases and the MC computed data for the complicated case, with an exception for very low doses of less than about 10 cGy in the simple case. Therefore, the pixel-based scanner correction method is expected to enhance the accuracy of GAFCHROMIC$^{(R)}$EBT film dosimetry, which is a widely used tool for two-dimensional dosimetry.
This paper describes the experiments of gaze tracking utilizing a low-cost electrooculogram measuring device. The goal of the experiments is to verify whether the low-cost device can be used for a complicated human-computer interaction tool, such as the eye-writing. Two experiments are conducted for this goal: a simple gaze tracking of four directional eye-movements, and eye-writing-which is to draw letters or shapes in a virtual space. Eye-written alphabets were obtained by two PSL-iEOGs and an Arduino Uno; they were classified by dynamic positional warping after preprocessed by a wavelet function. The results show that the expected recognition accuracy of the four-directional recognition is close to 90% when noises are controlled, and the similar median accuracy (90.00%) was achieved for the eye-writing when the number of writing patterns are limited to five. In future works, additional algorithms for stabilizing the signal need to be developed.
