This study was undertaken to identify factors affecting school food waste generation using a questionnaire. The subjects were 254 high school students (male; 156, female; 98) in Sacheon, Gyeongnam divided into three groups of low (${\leq}1/week$), moderate (2~3/week), and high (${\geq}4/week$) according to the frequencies of food waste. The questionnaires consisted of general characteristics, anthropometric values, dietary habits, health-related behaviors, self-perceptions of food waste, snacking patterns, and nutrition knowledge. The main reasons behind food waste were 'too much food' in the low (20.9%) and moderate (32.2%) groups, and 'no appetite' in the high group (p<0.01). The main types of food waste were rice (44.2%) > fish (18.6%) > vegetables (14.0%) in the low group, rice (54.2%) > Kimchi/vegetables (15.3%) in the moderate group, rice (56.0%) > vegetables (20.0%) > Kimchi (16.0%) in the high group (p<0.01). School food waste was significantly affected by age, gender, monthly allowance, school grade, weight, BMI, regularity of meals, time of meals, type of breakfast, starting age of smoking, and cost for snacking.

For practical application, the stability of permeabilized Ochrobactrum anthropi SY509 needs to be increased, as its half-life of enzymatic denitrification is only 90 days. As the cells become viable after permeabilization treatment, this can cause decreased activity in a long-term operation and induce breakage of the immobilization matrix. However, the organic solvent concentration causing zero cell viability was 50%, which is too high for industrial application. Thus, whole-cell immobilization using glutaraldehyde was performed, and 0.1% (v/v) glutaraldehyde was determined as the optimum concentration to maintain activity and increase the half-life. It was also found that 0.1% (v/v) glutaraldehyde reacted with 41.9% of the total amine residues on the surface of the cells during the treatment. As a result, the half-life of the permeabilized cells was increased from 90 to 210 days by glutaraldehyde treatment after permeabilization, and no cell viability was detected.
This is a descriptive study of consumption Patterns of how to take meals in everyday life. The data used was collected from a probability sample by multi-stage cluster sampling, drawn from those who were living in the Ulsan Metropolitan Area. Face-to-face interviews were conducted by trained interviewers with a household member who was between the ages of 15 and 60 in 1989 and had the earliest birthday, resulting in a sample of 1,232 respondents. Univariate and bivariate analyses were made to describe behavioral patterns of taking meals. Meal-taking behaviors under this study include frequency of taking meals per day, regularity of taking meals, which meal to skip, number of frequency of taking a meal by oneself. reasons of skipping and irregular meals, and eatting out. Half of the respondents reported to take meals three times a day, while those who skipped at least a meal reported as one most frequently skipped. Of reasons not to take a meal on a regular basis, "too busy to eat" was most frequently mentioned. Only 32.8% of the respondents reported dining-out once a week.ce a week.
The purpose of this study are to identify dimensions of leisure motivation of urban housewives. to segment hose wives according to their leisure motivation type and to find out the characteristics of each group. Sample of survey are 574 married women under age 60 living in Seoul. data collected by questionnaire and interview were analyzed through statistical method including factor analysis. ANOVA, Duncan test, MCA and cluster analysis etc. Major finding are as follows; 1) Urban housewives' motivation for leisure activity is composed of self-developmental, relaxatonal, social, family-oriented and imitational dimensions. 2) Main determinants of wives' leisure motivation are their age, education, job, stage in family life cycle. number of family members and household income. Their Sex role personality traits also have effect. 3) The urban housewives' leisure motivation is strongly correlated with their participation in leisure activity. 4) According to the factor scores of each motivation dimensions, subjects can be grouped to 4 typed by use of cluster analysis technique. They were named as Leisure-Indifferent type, Little-Leisure-Seekers. Passive-Leisure-Seekers and Active-Leisure-Seekers. Each of these groups showed different features in socio-demographic factors. different personality traits, and different leisure behavior. For and urban housewife, the most important need for leisure is developing herself. Rest. social life and family are important for leisure, too. Imitation is another reason. Groups with different combination of leisure motivation seem to have different resource and personality. These results have implication for futuer leisure plan for them.
This study was to analyze the Life-Cycle Physical Activity Therapy Programs (PATPs) in Hoseo Region and to suggest the Activation of the program. The subjects were the 81 PATPs performed in 36 of the Community Health Centers in the region. The basic data was collected by Official Documents, the Homepage of the Centers, Telephone Interview, and e-mail with the person in charge of the programs. All the data were classified to the administrative districts (Rural, Urban-Rural Intergration and Urban Region), the Life Cycles (Children, Youth, Adult and Old Adult) and the Health-related Fitness Variables (Strength/Muscle endurance, Flexibility and Aerobics). The ACSM's (American College Sports Medicine) Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription were used to evaluate the PATPs. In the results, the number of the PATPs was too low compared to the population. Also, the PATPs were not considered to the Life-Cycle proportion of the population. The management of the PATPs was principally inadequate. The frequency and duration of the PATPs were deficient in order to improve the Health-related Fitness. In conclusion, the number of the PATPs should be increased proportionally compared to the population, operated and developed on the Specificity of the Life-Cycle Population in the administrative districts. Further, the PATPs should be managed on the scientific knowledge of physical activity therapy.

Human being does work to live out and they have their private life because human has sociality. Both work and life are important to live out but they are on the trade-off relationship. Because keeping the balance between work and life is too hard, it has been interested by academic and practical areas. Definition of Work-life balance here is that balance or imbalance arising between work and life has no negative impact on their daily life. Above all, Work-life balance is important because it is strongly related to identity. Recently, the introduction of the mobile office system has emerged as a way to solve the problem of work-life balance. It is based on the teleworking which was formerly generated. Teleworking is to perform the work in the employee's home or office space set aside without going into the workplace. Concept of the mobile office system here is not only using portable devices during work for convenience but also the system which is designed for the performance. Thanks to the diffusion of smart devices(smart phone, tablet pc), mobile office system has been spread. Although the importance of mobile office systems is emerging, there are few researches about it. Even they mostly focus on the standpoint of performance of mobile office system. However, Quality of life is as important as the performance. As a part of Quality of Life field, Work-life balance is the closest to employee's quality of life. So this study aims to examine the effect of the use of mobile office systems on work-life balance. To do so, we try to find factors effecting Work-life balance from existing studies and then set a research model. We set the use of mobile office systems as independent variables which are divided by use of function, use by location and use by situation. There are four dependent variables - sense of self command, sense of balance, solving work problem, solving life problem. We collected data from employees who are using mobile office systems on their job. 215 people were participated in the survey and we used multiple regression analysis to verify our research model. Results show that every independent variable has no impact on solving work problem while they have slight impact on the other dependent variables. Especially use on the business trip has significant effect on dependent variables. It means that there is a possibility use of mobile office system could control the employee's quality of life and system should be evolved until it covers even critical tasks. Also, support for mobile office system -education, encouragement-should be provided. By mobile office system is maturing, future research would be done.
The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of factors like self-esteem, social support, empowerment on the life satisfaction of the elderly participating in the senior employment project. As a result, self-esteem, social support, and empowerment show significant effects on the life satisfaction of the elderly participating in the senior employment project. In other words, when the elderly participating in the senior employment project have higher self-esteem, social support, and empowerment, their life satisfaction becomes higher, too. Based on the findings, this author will make political suggestions as follows: first, it is needed to develop and distribute new employment programs to improve their self-esteem. Second, it is necessary to form new social support networks and develop and connect resources. Third, the empowerment approach to provide customized employment suitable for the needs of the elderly is necessary.
The trends of technical terms express the changes of particular subjects in a specific research field over time. However, the amount of academic literature and patent data is too large to be analyzed by human resources. In this paper, we propose a method that can detect and analyze the trends of terms by modeling the life cycle of the terms. The proposed method is composed of the following steps. First, the technical terms are extracted from academic literature data, and the TDVs(Term Dominance Values) of terms are computed on a periodic basis. Based on the TDVs, the life cycles of terms are modeled, and technical terms with similar temporal patterns of the life cycles are classified into the same trends class. The experiments shown in this paper is performed by exploiting the NDSL academic literature data maintained by KISTI.

In order to predict a remaining life of a plant, it is necessary to select the components that are critical to the plant life. The remaining life of those components shall be evaluated by considering the aging effect of materials used as well as numerous factors. However, when evaluating reliability of nuclear structural components, some problems are quite formidable because of lack of information such as operating history, material property change and uncertainty in damage models. Accordingly, if structural integrity and safety are evaluated by the deterministic fracture mechanics approach, it is expected that the results obtained are too conservative to perform a rational evaluation of plant life. The probabilistic fracture mechanics approaches are regarded as appropriate methods to rationally evaluate the plant life since they can consider various uncertainties such as sizes and shapes of cracks and degradation of material strength due to the aging effects. The objective of this study is to evaluate the structural integrity for a reactor pressure vessel under the small break loss of coolant accident by applying the deterministic and probabilistic fracture mechanics. The deterministic fracture mechanics analysis was performed using the three dimensional finite element model. The probabilistic integrity analysis was based on the Monte Carlo simulation. The selected random variables are the neutron fluence on the vessel inside surface, the content of copper, nickel, and phosphorus in the reactor pressure vessel material, and initial RTNDT.
The purpose of this study was to determine the factors related to eating behavior of breakfast and dietary life score in elementary, middle, and high school students. This study was conducted by administering questionnaires, and data were analyzed by the SPSS program. The subjects were divided into three groups according to school group (elementary, middle, and high school). The subjects consisted of 1,879 students (male 973, female 906) from 11 schools in Kyungpook. The distribution of subjects was as follows: elementary school children 682, middle school students 702, and high school students 495. The results are summarized as follows. Dietary life score was 72.64 for elementary school students, 64.77 for middle school students, and 62.67 for high school students. Frequency of eating breakfast and reasons for skipping breakfast were significantly different according to school group (P<0.001, P<0.01, respectively). The main reason for skipping breakfast was 'habitual skip' for elementary and middle school students (54.8%, 46.7%) and 'getting up too late' in high school students (55.4%). There were no significant association between frequency of eating breakfast and BMI. However, there were significant differences in school performance and sleeping hours according to frequency of eating breakfast (P<0.001, P<0.01, respectively). Dietary life score was significantly different according to frequency of eating breakfast (P<0.001). These results stress the need for intervention programs aimed at decreasing the frequency of skipping breakfast in children and students at school. Further, those who prepares meals for children must increase their concern about preparing breakfast.
