  • Neutron dose assessment in criticality accidents using Whole Body Counter (WBC) was proved to be an effective method as rapid neutron dose estimation at the JCO criticality accident in Tokai-mura. The 1.36MeV gamma-ray of $^{24}Na$ in a body can be detected easily by a germanium detector. The Minimum Detectable Activity (MDA) of $^{24}Na$ is approximately 50Bq for 10miniute measurement by the germanium-type whole body counter at JNC Tokai Works. Neutron energy spectra at the typical shielding conditions in criticality accidents were calculated and the conversion factor, whole body activity-to-organ mass weighted neutron absorbed dose, corresponding to each condition were determined. The conversion factor for uncollied fission spectrum is 7.7 $[(Bq^{24}Na/g^{23}Na)/mGy]$.

  • In this paper, a high-voltage generator with several mA draw output currents using LTPS-TFT technology is proposed. The new generator can be efficiently boosted about +18V output voltages with 5mA draw output currents and power efficiency ${\eta}$ is around 84% under the conditions of +5V power-supply voltage and 250kHz frequency.

  • In this paper, we proposed a PLL with the clock count type frequency detector, in which the very fast pull-in time can be realized by resetting the VCO at the rising of input signal after charging the capacitor of loop filter with the voltage corresponding to the frequency of the input signal.

  • This paper presents an automobile traction control system by using a sliding mode controller with disturbance observer for estimating the car-body speed. First, we show that the control system, which combines an automobile system and a disturbance observer, can be divided into a controllable system and an estimated one. And, we found out that the effect of the traction control and ABS depends on the air resistance of the car. Then, the sliding mode control system is designed using the obtained combined system. And finally, the stability of this control system is verified by simulation and it shows a very satisfactory results.

  • It is commonly believed that a gigantic earthquake (Tokai Earthquake) could occur in Shizuoka Prefecture in the near future. The Shizuoka Prefecture Government made the prediction report of Tokai Earthquake disaster damage. But this report does not pay attention to the ground conditions. The authors make a prediction map using GIS of Tokai Earthquake disaster damage in Asada-cho and Hirosawa Ni-chome in the central Hamamatsu City and revealed the location of dangerous houses and dangerous points in road networks in each town. These information could be useful when people try to find escape routes in an earthquake.

  • 1. Partial cuff tears are common and incapacitate active people in the 5th to 6th decades. 2. The pathogenesis appears multifactorial. 3. The pain is proportional to the degree of concomitant subacromial bursitis, not to the size of the cuff tear. 4. The diagnosis is made by several imagings, arthroscopy and/or trial tenotomy. 5. The spontaneous healing is unlikely and progression to complete tears is frequent. 6. The intratendinous extension poses therapeutic problem but satisfactory results are obtained by open surgery in approximately $90\% of cases.

  • The flexibility of content addressable mem-ory (CAM) can greatly be extended through the use of trits (ternary digits) Trits consist of binary logical values “0” and “1” with addition of “x” (“dont’t care”). The “dont’t care“is extremely useful for providing com- pact representation of sets of bit strings. In this paper, we propose a new ternary CAM with Hamming distance search functions. Each memory cell in the CAM consists of a pair of lambda diodes which can store trits, namely, a logical “0”, “1” and “x” (“dont’t care“). The CAM can compare stored data and an input data in parallel, and find stored data with Hamming distance within a certain range (“near match“). Also, the interrogation characteristics of the ternary CAM are analyzed in detail. Furthermore, the results obtained these analyses are fully confirmed by simulation using the circuit analysis program HSPICE.

  • In this paper we propose a new scheme of watermarking using the discrete wavelet transform, the discrete cosine transform, and the performance evaluation function, which does not deteriorate image quality and have robustness to attacks such as compression and scaling. moreover even if a detected watermark, which is a bit sequence in this paper, has some error bits, it can be correctly recovered using correlation-based determination scheme.
