  • DCS는 분산된 컴퓨터 네크워크를 이용한 통합된 EIC의 다양한 응용기술을 적용할 수 있는 원격 감시 제어가 요구되고 있다. 현재까지는 DCS는 원격 사이트의 플랜트에 대해 실시간성 보장은 기대에 미치지 못한다. 본 논문에서는 효율적인 TM/TC 시스템을 위한 각 제어기를 기존의 PRS 하드웨어와 GWS, RPS, SRS로 광역화에 맞도록 설계하였으며, 또한 각 구현된 제어기의 실시간을 만족하는 통신처리시간, 시스템 부하율을 분석하여 타당성을 검토하였다.

TM투영에서의 좌표변환에 관한 연구 (A study on the transformation of coordinate on TM projection)

  • TM투영은 일반적으로 측량 또는 지도제작에서 가장 널리 사용되고 있는 투영법이다. 그러나 복잡한 수학적 계산식으로 인하여 원리의 이해와 사용에 어려움이 있으며 또한 실제적인 적용에 있어서 계산공식을 어떻게 사용하며 어떻한 계수를 사용하는가에 따라 그 결과도 크게 달라진다. 이 연구에서는 무한급수로 전개되는 TM투영 계산공식을 급수 항의 수효에 따라 4가지 종류로 구분하고 이들이 최종 좌표에 미치는 영향에 대하여 고찰하였으며, 특히 좌표변환과정에서 필수적으로 사용되는 원주율$(\pi)$의 유효숫자가 미치는 영향에 대해서도 고찰하였다. 연구결과 경도차의 크기에 따라 오차도 달라져서, 경도차 $1^\circ$에서는 거의 변화가 없었으나 $2^\circ$$3^\circ$등 경도차가 클수록 더 큰 오차가 발생하였다. 또한 위도변화에 대해서는 위도가 낮을수록 더 큰 오차가 발생되었다. 특히, $\pi$값의 사용에서는 지상 1 mm의 정밀도를 유지하기 위해서는 소수 13자리까지 사용하여야 함을 알 수 있었다.

Effects of Microwave Pretreatment on Mesophilic Anaerobic Digestion for Mixture of Primary and Secondary Sludges Compared with Thermal Pretreatment

  • This work experimentally determined the effect of thermal and microwave pretreatments on the anaerobic digestion of mixtures of municipal primary and secondary sludges in semi-continuous mesophilic digesters at hydraulic retention times (HRT) of 20, 15, 10, 7, and 5 days. The ratio of soluble chemical oxygen demand (COD) to total COD in thermally pretreated and microwaved sludges at $80^{\circ}C$ was 2.7 and 3.2 times higher than that of raw sludge, respectively. The volatile solids (VS) and COD removal efficiencies in all three digesters fed with raw (control), thermally pretreated (TM), and microwaved (MW) sludges decreased as the HRT was reduced. The highest relative improvement in VS removal compared to the control occurred at the HRT of 5 days in the TM and MW (29 and 41% higher than the control, respectively). At this HRT, improvement in the COD removal efficiencies in the TM and MW compared to the control was 28 and 53%, respectively. Improvements in biogas production compared with the control increased in both the TM and MW as the HRT was reduced to 5 days. The relative improvement in daily biogas production compared to the control from the TM and MW was 33 and 53% higher than the control at the HRT of 5 days, respectively. The results show that microwave pretreatment is more effective than thermal pretreatment in increasing the solubilization degree and mesophilic anaerobic biodegradability of sewage sludge.

Prevalence of Putative Periodontopahogen TM7 and Dialister in Dental Plaque of Koreans

  • TM7 is an uncultivated organism which is present in extremely diverse environments. Members of the Dialister genus are difficult to culture as a result of which many of these strains remain uncultivated. It has been suggested that TM7 and Dialister bacteria may belong to a group of suspected periodontal pathogens. In our current study, the presence of the sebacteria in Korean dental plaque samples was assessed using PCR detection methods with specific primers for 16S ribosomal RNA genes. The experimental group included 84 volunteers (35 males and 49 females). Plaque samples were collected from 4 non-adjacent proximal sites of the molar areas of the mandible in each subject and pooled. TM7 was detectable in 56% and the Dialister genus in 27.5% of the volunteers. Both TM7 and Dialister were present in 20.3% of volunteers. We found that 36.9% of the volunteers were negative for both bacteria. Further studies to evaluate the prevalence of these putative pathogenic bacteria in the Korean population are warranted.

위성자료를 이용한 산화지의 입목 손실량 평가 (Evaluation of Damaged Stand Volume in Burned Area of Mt. Weol-A using Remotely Sensed Data)

  • 본 연구는 1995년 4월 5일 진주시 월아산지역에서 발생한 산화지를 1995년 5월에 관측된 Landsat TM화상 데이터로부터 산림내 피해지를 분류하고 그 입목손실량을 추정하기 위해서 실시되었다. 화상 데이터에서 11개의 GCP를 선정하여 Affine좌표변환식에 의해 TM지도좌표체계에 일치되도록 화상을 기하보정 처리한 후 공1차내삽법(bilinear interpolation)에 의해 재배열하였다. 재배열된 화상 데이타를 감독분류 중 최대우도법에 의해 토지이용구분을 실시하였다. 산화지로 분류된 지역과 비산화지로 분류된 인접지역 중 임상(Pinus thunbergii)과 지형이 동일한 지역을 GIS기법에 의해 추출하고 이 지역을 표준지로 선정하였다. 선정된 표준지를 중심으로 표준목의 재적과 수령을 Criterion laser estimator와 WinDENDRO$^{tm}$(v. 6.3b)시스템에 의해 분석하였다. 표준목의 흉고직경은 20.9cm, 수고는 9.7m, 재적은 $0.1396m^3$으로서 표준지의 임분재적은 $2.9316m^3$/0.04ha로 나타났으며, 산화지 218.4ha에서의 총 입목손실량은 $16,007m^3$로 평가되었다.

Effect of Oral Administration of DiakurTM (a Glucose and Electrolytes Additive) on Growth and Some Physiological Responses in Broilers Reared in a High Temperature Environment

  • An experiment was conducted to determine effects of oral administration of $Diakur^{TM}$ (an additive of glucose and electrolytes for young calves) on growth performance and some physiological responses in male broilers reared in a high temperature. A 2 by 3 factorial arrangement test of 2 temperatures (24 and $36^{\circ}C$) and 3 levels of oral administration of the glucose and electrolytes additive, $Diakur^{TM}$, (0, 150 and 300 mg/day/100 gBW) were applied in the experiment. Male broiler chicks (2 weeks of age) were assigned to six groups and received dietary and temperature treatments for 7 days. The additive of glucose and electrolytes was suspended with water and intubated into crop twice a day (08:00 and 17:00). Oral administration of the additive prevented decreases in food intake and growth rates in broilers due to exposure of the hot environment. Oral administration of the additive also improved a lowered electrolyte ($Na^+$ + $K^+$ - $Cl^-$) balance in plasma, low mitogenic response of blood mononuclear cell and an increase in glucose concentration due to exposure to the high environmental temperature. Oral administration of the additive increased rectal temperature regardless of environmental temperatures. On the other hand, blood pH, $pCO_2$ and $HCO_3$ - concentration, and plasma creatine kinase activity were not affected by the oral administration. The results suggested that oral administration of the glucose and electrolytes additive, $Diakur^{TM}$ during heat stress did not only prevent decrease in growth performance, but also normalized some physiological and immunological responses in male broilers.

Sarcocystosis among Wild Captive and Zoo Animals in Malaysia

  • Sarcocystis sp. infection was investigated in 20 necropsied captive wild mammals and 20 birds in 2 petting zoos in Malaysia. The gross post-mortem lesions in mammals showed marbling of the liver with uniform congestion of the intestine, and for birds, there was atrophy of the sternal muscles with hemorrhage and edema of the lungs in 2 birds. Naked eye examination was used for detection of macroscopic sarcocysts, and muscle squash for microscopic type. Only microscopically visible cysts were detected in 8 animals and species identification was not possible. Histological examination of the sections of infected skeletal muscles showed more than 5 sarcocysts in each specimen. No leukocytic infiltration was seen in affected organs. The shape of the cysts was elongated or Circular, and the mean size reached $254{\times}24.5{\mu}m$ and the thickness of the wall up to $2.5{\mu}m$. Two stages were recognized in the cysts, the peripheral metrocytes and large numbers of crescent shaped merozoites. Out of 40 animals examined, 3 mammals and 5 birds were positive (20%). The infection rate was 15% and 25% in mammals and birds, respectively. Regarding the organs, the infection rate was 50% in the skeletal muscles followed by tongue and heart (37.5%), diaphragm (25%), and esophagus (12.5%). Further ultrastructural studies are required to identify the species of Sarcocystis that infect captive wild animals and their possible role in zoonosis.

다기능 금속산화물의 하수처리 적용-흡착 및 살균 (The application of multifunctional metal oxide for wastewater treatment: Adsorption and disinfection)

  • The physical treatment such as chemical precipitation or adsorption was usually added after biological treatment in wastewater treatment process since it was enforced to reduce the concentration of phosphate for wastewater effluent to 0.2 mg/L as P which was well known as one of main nutrient causing eutrophication in waterbody. Therefore, the new material functioned for both adsorption and disinfection was prepared with Fe and Cu, and $TiO_2$, respectively, by changing the ratio of concentration referred to tri-metal (TM). According to SEM-EDS, $TiO_2$ was 30~40% composition for any TM regardless of any synthesis condition. However, the ratio of composition for Fe and Cu was dependent on the initial Fe and Cu concentration, respectively. The removal efficiency of phosphate was obtained to 15% at low initial concentration and the maximum uptake (Q) was calculated to ~11 mg/g through Langmuir isotherm model using TM1 which was synthesized at 1000 mg/L, 1000 mg/L, and 2 g (10 g/L) for $Fe(NO_3)_3$, $Cu(NO_3)_2$, $TiO_2$, respectively. In disinfection test, the efficiency of virus removal using TM was increased with increase of dosage of TM and can be reached 98% at 0.2 g.

국내산 양식 흰다리새우 유래의 비브리오균에 대한 소독제의 방제 효과 검증 (Assessment of the Effect of a Disinfectant to Control Vibrio Strain from White Leg Shrimps Cultured in Korea)

  • 2023년 7월, 국내의 흰다리 새우 양식장에서 양식 중이던 흰다리 새우가 이상유영을 보이며 식욕부진에 시달리며 지속적으로 폐사하였다. 초기에는 일일 평균 폐사율이 0.1%였으나, 3주 후에는 5%까지 증가하였다. 질병 진단 과정 중, 폐사 새우의 간췌장에서 세균(KNUAFVa-SHP08147)이 분리되었다. 본 세균의 16S rRNA 유전자의 시퀀스 분석결과, 분리주 KNUAFVa-SHP08147은 Vibrio alginolyticus로 동정이 되었다. 본 연구에서는, 분리주를 대상으로 비브리오 방제 효과가 있다고 알려져 있는 소독제의 효능을 검증해보았다. 소독제 VirkonTMS의 효능 검증을 위하여, VirkonTMS를 처리한 후 KNUAFVa-SHP08147의 성장 곡선을 조사하였다. 실험 결과, VirkonTMS가 KNUAFVa-SHP08147의 성장에 미치는 영향이 무의미한 것으로 드러나, 소독제 VirkonTMS의 Vibrio 방제 효과는 없는 것으로 드러났다.

생약추출물을 이용한 키 성장 기능성 식품 개발 (The Development of Functional Food with Plant Extracts for Enhancing Growth Rate)

  • 다양한 종류의 생약재들이 동물과 인간의 성장률을 증진시키는 활성을 가지고 있는 것으로 보고되고 있다. 선정된 식물의 성장증진 효과를 확인하기 위해 실험동물로서 물고기와 돼지를 이용하였다. 물고기 실험에서 오카피 추출물과 인진쑥 추출물이 가장 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 이들 오가피와 인진쑥 추출물을 돼지에 먹여본 결과 평균 일일 증체율이 대조군에 비해 7.06% 증가하였다. ㅇ 결과를 검증하기위해 혈액 내 분비된 성장호르몬(GH)과 Insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1)의 양을 측정하였다. 오가피와 인진쑥 추출물을 먹인 돼지는 대조군에 비해 혈액 내로 분비된 GH와 IGF-1의 양이 훨씬 더 많았다. 인간에서 성장증진 효과를 알아보기 위해 본 연구자들은 오가피와 인진쑥 추출물을 혼합하여 쌀에 코팅한 $키우미^{TM}$($Kiwoomi^{TM}$)를 제조하였다. $키우미^{TM}$를 초등학생들에게 먹였을 때 키 성장에 효과적인 것을 확인하였다. $키우미^{TM}$를 먹인 아이들이 먹이지 않은 아이들보다 더 많이 성장하였다(약 2.14배). 결과적으로 이 기능성 쌀($Kiwoomi^{TM}$)이 다른 부작용 없이 아이들의 성장에 도움을 주는 것으로 판단된다.
