Residual Polar Motion excluding Chandler and Annual components

  • Two dominant components of polar motion are the Chandler and the annual components. Recently, the existence of 500-day period component in the Earth's polar motion has been manifested. But its existence is not clear on Fourier spectrum. One cause of difficulty involved here is that the amplitudes of the two main components are slightly variable in time by certain amounts (Chandler: 0.15~0.28 arcsec, annual: 0.09~0.15 arcsec). A residual polar motion time series excluding the two main components for a time span between 1962 Jan and 2010 Nov from IERS C04 time series dataset was constructed by least square fitting. For faithful fitting, 43 time segments of 6.8 year length (each starts on January 1st of successive years) were separately acquired and later combined together. The period of dominant peak in the spectrum of this residual polar motion time series is 490 days. Next peaks have their periods as semi-annual, 300~330 days, ~560 days, 670 days, and 1360 days.

  • 본 연구는 파 해석에 있어서 공간-시간 분할 개념을 도입하여 켈러킨 방법으로 해석하였다. 공간-시간 유한요소법은 오직 공간에 대해서만 분할하는 일반적인 유한요소법보다 간편하다. 비교적 큰 시간간격에 대해서 공간과 시간을 동시에 분할하는 방법을 제시하며 가중잔차법이 공간-시간 영역에서 유한요소 정식화에 이용되었다. 큰 시간 간격으로 인하여 문제의 해가 발산하는 경우가 동적인 문제에서 흔히 발생한다. 이러한 결점을 보완한 사각형 공간-시간 요소를 취하여 문제를 해석하고 해의 안정에 대해 기술하였다. 다수의 수치해석을 통하여 이 방법이 효과적 임을 알 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문은 라이프니츠와 클라크 간의 공간의 본질에 대한 논쟁과 이를 바탕으로 한 최근 형이상학과 과학철학의 논쟁을 고찰한다. 공간의 본질에 대한 논의는 존재론적 위상에 대한 논쟁으로, 실체론(substantivalism)과 관계론(relationism)의 두 축을 중심으로 진행된다. 클라크에 의해 대변되는 실체론자들은 공간이 물체와 같이 그 자체적으로 존재하는 실체(substance)임을 주장한다. 반면, 라이프니츠를 위시한 관계론자들은 공간의 독립적인 실체성을 부정하고 공간이 물질들 사이의 관계(relation)로 환원될 수 있다고 주장한다. 라이프니츠는 식별불가능자 간의 동일성 원리와 충족이유율을 이용하여 실체론의 주장을 비판하는 논변을 제시한다. 이어만과 노턴에 의해 제시된 홀 논변은 고전적인 라이프니츠의 논변을 현대적인 문맥에서 계승하여 재구성한다. 본 논문은 이들 논변의 형이상학적 측면을 고려한다. 이를 통해 공간의 존재론에 대한 논의가 형이상학적 논쟁에 머무르지 않고 운동을 이해하는 역학 이론의 개념적 기초를 이루고 있음을 부각한다.

THE FUNDAMENTAL SOLUTION OF THE SPACE-TIME FRACTIONAL ADVECTION-DISPERSION EQUATION

  • A space-time fractional advection-dispersion equation (ADE) is a generalization of the classical ADE in which the first-order time derivative is replaced with Caputo derivative of order $\alpha{\in}(0,1]$, and the second-order space derivative is replaced with a Riesz-Feller derivative of order $\beta{\in}0,2]$. We derive the solution of its Cauchy problem in terms of the Green functions and the representations of the Green function by applying its Fourier-Laplace transforms. The Green function also can be interpreted as a spatial probability density function (pdf) evolving in time. We do the same on another kind of space-time fractional advection-dispersion equation whose space and time derivatives both replacing with Caputo derivatives.

한국영화에 나타난 창의적 시공간 연출 분석 -영화 <써니>를 중심으로 (Analysis on Creative Time and Space Production in Korean Cinema - Focusing on the Film -)

  • 영화에 있어서 몽타쥬란 것은 시간화 라고 말할 수 있다. 그 방법을 뒤집으면 시간의 공간화라는 결과가 나오는 것을 알 수 있다. 영화는 미래이든 과거든 마음대로 갈 수 있으며, 분리된 사건을 함께 볼 수 있고, 동시에 일어나는 일을 분리해서 볼 수도 있다. 그래서 한편으로는 시간이 공간화 되고, 또 한편으로는 공간이 시간화가 되는 것이다. 결론적으로 영화 속의 공간은 필연적으로 시간을 표현한다. 영화 <써니>가 단순한 고등학교 때 이야기를 현재로 끌고 와서 700만이 넘는 관객을 동원 하는 데는 시간과 공간의 배치가 큰 역할을 했다고 보여 진다. 강형철 감독은 그가 가진 특유 영화 연출 언어를 배합함으로 식상함을 유쾌함으로 진부함을 통쾌함으로 바꾸어 냈고, 과거 청소년 시절 마음의 상처를 치유하는 효과를 관객들에게 만들어 줬다. 그는 "영화 연출에서 가장 중요한 것이 시각적 이야기 창작이며 그 시각적 이야기의 배경은 시간과 공간이다."라고 말한다. 영화 <써니>에 나타난 감독의 창의적 시공간 연출을 분석하고자 한다.

A NOTE ON LIGHTLIKE HYPERSURFACES OF A GRW SPACE-TIME

  • This note provides a study of lightlike hypersurfaces of a generalized Robertson-Walker(GRW) space-time with a certain screen distribution, which are integrable and have good properties. Focus is to investigate geometric features from the relation of the second fundamental forms between lightlike hypersurfaces and leaves of the integrable screen distribution. Also, we shall apply those results on lightlike hypersurfaces of a GRW space-time to lightlike hypersurfaces of a Robertson-Walker(RW) space-time.

부부의 노동분담에 대한 시간대별 활동 및 공간활용도 분석 (An Analysis on Husbands and Wives' Time Distribution and Space Occupancy in the Division of Labor)

  • The purpose of this study was to exam the activities by the distribution of time and space occupancy on their weekday and weekend. to study the space and labor segregation by sex. The sample population included 23 wives and their husbands(30-40 years old). The major findings of the research are as follows: First, it shows that wives' time use by activity was consistent with the space occupancy on weekday. Second, on weekend, wives was used to stay in living room most of time. Thirdly, husbands show the stereotype of time use on weekday, and substitute leisure time for labor time. Finally, on weekend, the wives and husbands have the joint time in the household labor or leisure activities.

PROPERTIES OF CAUSALLY CONTINUOUS SPACE-TIME

  • In general relativity, analyzing causality is central to the study of black holes, to cosmology, and to each of the major recent mathematical theorems. By causality we refer to the general question of which points in a space-time can be joined by causal curves; relativistically which events can influence (be influenced by) a given event. Various causality conditions have been developed for space-times of the problems associated with examples of causality violations (2, 4). Causally continuous space-times were defined by Hawking and Sachs (5). Budic and Sachs (3) established causal completion. A metrizable topology on the causal completion of a causally continuous space-time was studied by Beem(1). Recently the region of space-time where causal continuity is violated was studied by Ishikawa (6) and Vyas and Akolia (8). In this paper we show characterization for reflectingness in terms of continuity of set valued functions. We investigate some properties of the region related to a causally continuous space-time where distinguishingness is violated, and characterize the chronology condition in terms of distinguishing-violated region.

현대 건축 공간에 나타나는 시간의 감각과 표현에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Expression and the Sense of Time in Contemporary Architectural Space)

  • This study is aimed to identify the expression and the sense of time in contemporary architectural space. And to classify the system and elements of Zeitlichkeit in the contemporary architectural design. The concept of time can be divided into two meaningful perceptions. Those are the concept of realistic time and the concept of subjective time. These tendencies of theories of architectural space has borrowed from innovations in the sciences, and the whole idea of space-time within art and architecture. Those notions developed through the researches of Bauhaus, Postmodernism, Landscape architecture, Digital Architecture and so forth. The result of this study is that the concepts of time are one of the most important strategies of architectural design and have the various languages which there was not in the past. At the point of the transformation in contemporary architecture, the The concepts of space-time are classified into those from the orders of form and space, from dynamic of the image in the dissolution of architectural form, from traces and steps of movement in dynamic form, and from the systems of commands in the digital softwares. As such, Zeitlichkeit in contemporary architecture means that the architecture moves from the construction of the sensual design elements into Art of life through events and contents which human can experience and recognize. These theories and researches reveal that contemporary architectural movements insert the meaningful stories into architectural space through programs and diagrams.

시공간패턴분석기법을 이용한 젠트리피케이션 발생지역의 상업용도 확산지역 도출 - 서울시 북촌 사례를 중심으로 - (Using Space-Time Pattern Analysis to Detect Commercial Diffusion Area in Gentrified Area - Focused on the Case of Bukchon in Seoul -)

  • In recent years, there has been a proliferation of commercial uses in the area where Gentrification occurs. In order to cope with such a diffusion phenomenon, it is necessary to derive the diffusion area accurately. Gentrification has a feature that occurs locally in a short time. Therefore, this study used the space-time pattern analysis to derive the diffusion area of commercial uses in Bukchon, a typical gentrified area in Seoul. Among the space-time pattern analysis, space time permutation statistics used in this study can derive the convergence phenomenon of time and space in a particular case with only the location information. The results confirmed that there has been three proliferation area in Bukchon, one started in 2007, other in 2013 and the other in 2014. In the earliest area, independent shops were the most popular, and the majority of them were restaurants. However in latter areas, there has been more chain stores and clothing stores than earlier area. The findings of this study indicate that space time pattern analysis can be used as a tool to analyze the proliferation by gentrification because it can derive accurate location and timing of the diffusion.
