The analysis of the floating offshore wind turbine platform is based on the procedures provided by the IEC including the International Classification Society, which recommends the analysis in the time domain. But time-domain simulation requires a lot of time and resources to solve tens of thousands of DLCs. This acts as a barrier in terms of floating structure development. For final verification, it requires very precise analysis in the time domain, but from an initial design point of view, a simplified verification procedure to predict the quantity of materials quickly and achieve relatively accurate results is crucial. In this study, a structural design procedure using a design wave applied in the oil and gas industries is presented combined with a conservative turbine load. With this method, a quick design spiral can be rotated, and it is possible to review FOWTs of various shapes and sizes. Consequently, a KRISO Semi-Submersible FOWT platform was developed using a simplified design procedure in frequency-domain analysis.

This manuscript summarized advances in bootstrap methods for long-range dependent time series data. The stationary linear long-memory process is briefly described, which is a target process for bootstrap methodologies on time-domain and frequency-domain in this review. We illustrate time-domain bootstrap under long-range dependence, moving or non-overlapping block bootstraps, and the autoregressive-sieve bootstrap. In particular, block bootstrap methodologies need an adjustment factor for the distribution estimation of the sample mean in contrast to applications to weak dependent time processes. However, the autoregressive-sieve bootstrap does not need any other modification for application to long-memory. The frequency domain bootstrap for Whittle estimation is provided using parametric spectral density estimates because there is no current nonparametric spectral density estimation method using a kernel function for the linear long-range dependent time process.
It is difficult to implement sound field effect on real time using linear convolution in time domain because linear convolution needs much multiply operations. In this paper three ways is introduced to reduce multiplication operations. Firstly, linear convolution in time domain is replaced with circular convolution in frequency domain. It means that it operates multiplication in place of convolution. Secondly, one frame will be divided into several frames. It will reduce the multiplication operation in processing that transforms time domain into frequency domain. Finally, QFT will be used in place of FFT. Three ways result much reduction in multiplication operations. The reduction of the multiplication operation makes the real time implementation possible.

In this study, discrete-time domain analysis is proposed to investigate the input current of a buck AC/DC light-emitting diode (LED) driver. The buck power factor correction converter can operate in both discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) and continuous conduction mode (CCM). Two discontinuous and two continuous conduction operating modes are possible depending on which event terminates the conduction of the main switch in a switching cycle. All four operating modes are considered in the discrete-time domain analysis. The peak current-mode control with slope compensation is used to design a low-cost AC/DC LED driver. A slope compensation design of the buck AC/DC LED driver is described on the basis of a discrete-time domain analysis. Experimental results are presented to confirm the usefulness of the proposed analysis.
Heart Rate Variability (HRV) analysis is a convenient tool to assess Myocardial Ischemia (MI). The analysis methods of HRV can be divided into time domain and frequency domain analysis. This paper uses wavelet transform as frequency domain analysis in contrast to time domain analysis in short term HRV analysis. ST-T and normal episodes are collected from the European ST-T database and the MIT-BIH Normal Sinus Rhythm database, respectively. An episode can be divided into several segments, each of which is formed by 32 successive RR intervals. Eighteen HRV features are extracted from each segment by the time and frequency domain analysis. To diagnose MI, the Neural Network with Weighted Fuzzy Membership functions (NEWFM) is used with the extracted 18 features. The results show that the average accuracy from time and frequency domain features is 75.29% and 80.93%, respectively.

In this work, a frequency domain method is tested numerically and experimentally to improve nonlinear model parameters using the frequency response function at the nonlinear element connected point of structure. This method extends the force-state mapping technique, which fits the nonlinear element forces with time domain response data, into frequency domain manipulations. The force-state mapping method in the time domain has limitations when applying to complex real structures because it needd a time domain lumped parameter model. On the other hand, the frequency domain method is relatively easily applicable to a complex real structure having nonlinear elements since it uses the frequency response function of each substurcture. Since this mehtod is performed in frequency domain, the number of equations required to identify the unknown parameters can be easily increased as many as it needed, just by not only varying excitation amplitude bot also selecting excitation frequency domain method has some advantages over the classical force-state mapping technique in the number of data points needed in curve fit and the sensitivity to response noise.
We consider the iterative schemes for the large sparse linear system to solve partial differential equations. Using spectral radius of iteration matrices, the optimal relaxation parameters and good parameters can be obtained. With those parameters we compare the effectiveness of the SOR and SSOR algorithms. Applying Crank-Nicolson approximation, we observe the error distribution according to domain decomposition. The number of processors due to domain decomposition affects time and error. Numerical experiments show that effectiveness of SOR and SSOR can be reversed as time size varies, which is not the usual case. Finally, these phenomena suggest conjectures about equilibrium time grid for SOR and SSOR.

There are two general techniques to observe particle movements in fluid. One is the acoustic time domain correlation technique and another is the frequency domain Doppler-shift techniques. Both techniques were reviewed and mentioned their some merits and demerits in ocean wave and current observation. Some possible application of acoustic time domain correlation technique in ocean wind wave measurement was discussed.
During the loading/offloading operation of a liquefied natural gas carrier (LNGC) that is moored in a side-by-side configuration with an offshore plant, sloshing that occurs due to the partially filled LNG tank and the interactive effect between the two floating bodies are important factors that affect safety and operability. Therefore, a time-domain software program, called CHARM3D, was developed to consider the interactions between sloshing and the motion of a floating body, as well as the interactions between multiple bodies using the potential-viscous hybrid method. For the simulation of a floating body in the time domain, hydrodynamic coefficients and wave forces were calculated in the frequency domain using the 3D radiation/diffraction panel program based on potential theory. The calculated values were used for the simulation of a floating body in the time domain by convolution integrals. The liquid sloshing in the inner tanks is solved by the 3D-FDM Navier-Stokes solver that includes the consideration of free-surface non-linearity through the SURF scheme. The computed sloshing forces and moments were fed into the time integration of the ship's motion, and the updated motion was, in turn, used as the excitation force for liquid sloshing, which is repeated for the ensuing time steps. For comparison, a sloshing motion coupled analysis program based on linear potential theory in the frequency domain was developed. The computer programs that were developed were applied to the side-by-side offloading operation between the offshore plant and the LNGC. The frequency-domain results reproduced the coupling effects qualitatively, but, in general, the peaks were over-predicted compared to experimental and time-domain results. The interactive effects between the sloshing liquid and the motion of the vessel can be intensified further in the case of multiple floating bodies.
The time-frequency domain reflectometry(TFDR) is well known to detect and locate a fault in a coaxial cable[3]. Traditional reflectometry methods have been achieved in either the time domain or frequency domain only. However, the time-frequency domain reflectometry utilizes time and frequency information of a reflected signal passed through a cable to detect and locate the fault. The purpose of this paper is to find appropriate time-frequency distribution function suitable for a TFDR system. Choosing the appropriate time-frequency distribution function implies one can detect the fault and estimate the location accurately. We consider and compare adequate time-frequency distribution function on the basis of experimental results.
