NON-FRAGILE GUARANTEED COST CONTROL OF UNCERTAIN LARGE-SCALE SYSTEMS WITH TIME-VARYING DELAYS

  • The robust non-fragile guaranteed cost control problem is studied in this paper for class of uncertain linear large-scale systems with time-varying delays in subsystem interconnections and given quadratic cost functions. The uncertainty in the system is assumed to be norm-hounded arid time-varying. Also, the state-feedback gains for subsystems of the large-scale system are assumed to have norm-bounded controller gain variations. The problem is to design state feedback control laws such that the closed-loop system is asymptotically stable and the closed-loop cost function value is not more than a specified upper bound far all admissible uncertainties. Sufficient conditions for the existence of such controllers are derived based on the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach combined with the Lyapunov method. A parameterized characterization of the robust non-fragile guaranteed cost contrellers is 7iven in terms of the feasible solution to a certain LMI. Finally, in order to show the application of the proposed method, a numerical example is included.

  • In real system application, the interacting multiple model (IMM) based algorithm operates with the following problems: it requires less computing resources as well as a good performance with respect to the various target maneuvering, it requires a robust performance with respect to the time-varying measurement noise, and further, it requires an easy design procedure in terms of its structures and parameters. To solve these problems, an adaptive fuzzy interacting multiple model (AFIMM) algorithm, which is based on the basis sub-models defined by considering the maneuvering property and the time-varying mode transition probabilities designed by using the mode probabilities as the inputs of the fuzzy decision maker whose widths are adjusted, is proposed. To verify the performance of the proposed algorithm, a radar target tracking is performed. Simulation results show that the proposed AFIMM algorithm solves all problems in the real system application of the IMM based algorithm.

  • We propose an evolutionary reinforcement learning (RL) system with time-varying parameters that can deal with a dynamic environment. The proposed system has three characteristics: 1) It can deal easily with a dynamic environment by using time-varying parameters; 2) The division of state space is acquired evolutionarily by genetic algorithm (GA); 3) One does not have to design the rules constructing an agent in advance. So far many RL systems have been proposed.   • In this paper, a discrete-time variable structure controller for linear time-varying sampled-data systems with disturbances is proposed. The proposed method guarantees that the system state if globally uniformly ultimately bounded (G.U.U.B), and the ultimate bound is shown to be the order of T, O(T), where T is a sampling period.

  • This paper deals with the eigenvalue assignment technique for linear time-varying systems to achieve feedback stabilization. For this, we introduce the novel eigenvalue concepts. Then, we propose the Ackerman-like formula for linear time-varying systems. It is believed that this technique is the generalized version of the Ackerman formula forlinear time-invariant systems. The advantages of the proposed technique are that it does not require the transformation of the original system into the phase-variable form nor the computation of eigenvalues of the original system.

  • 음이 아닌 입력에 대하여 음이 아닌 초기상태에서 출발한 모든 상태변수 값들이 시간에 대하여 항상 음이 아닌 값을 유지하는 시스템은 양의 시스템으로 정의된다. 본 논문에서는 상태변수에 시변 지연시간과 비구조화된 불확실성이 함께 존재하는 양의 시변 선형 이산 구간 시스템의 안정조건을 새롭게 제안한다. 시변 지연시간은 변동가능한 최소와 최대 지연시간 범위 내에서 변하는 것으로 고려되며, 불확실성은 비선형성을 포함하여 그 최대 크기만을 알 수 있는 것으로 고려한다. 제안된 안정조건은 이전의 결과들이 시불변시스템에만 적용되었거나 불확실성에 대한 고려가 없었던 것을 개선한 것으로 매우 간단한 부등식의 형태로 표현된다. 안정조건은 리아프노프 안정이론을 이용하여 유도되며, 리아프노프 방정식의 상한 해 한계(upper solution bound)를 이용한 기존 결과에 비하여 많은 장점을 갖는다. 제안된 안정조건은 기존의 결과들을 포함하는 효과적인 것으로 수치예제를 통하여 이를 검증한다.

  • 시간에 따라 질량이 감소하는 낙하산 시스템의 궤적 및 낙하 시간 분석은 정밀한 투하가 요구되는 임무에 중요하므로 그 필요성이 더 커지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 질량 변동 물체인 조명탄을 투하하기 위한 십자형 낙하산 시스템의 동적 거동을 분석하는 연구를 수행하였다. 낙하산 시스템의 궤적을 분석하기 위해 유도된 상미분 형태의 운동방정식 시스템을 Runge-Kutta 수치기법을 적용하여 해석하였다. 그리고 동역학 방정식의 핵심적 입력정보인 십자형 낙하산과 조명탄의 항력 계수를 예측하기 위해 전산유체역학 해석을 수행하였다. 마지막으로 단순화된 대기교란 모델을 적용하여 풍향, 풍속에 따라 달라지는 낙하산 시스템 거동의 차이를 분석하였다.

Reliability Evaluation of Power System Operations Considering Time-Varying Features of Components

  • The reliability of power system components can be affected by a numbers of factors such as the health level of components, external environment and operation environment of power systems. These factors also affect the electrical parameters of power system components for example the thermal capacity of a transmission element. The relationship of component reliability and power system is, therefore, a complex nonlinear function related to the above-mentioned factors. Traditional approaches for reliability assessment of power systems do not take the influence of these factors into account. The assessment results could not, therefore, reflect the short-term trend of the system reliability performance considering the influence of the key factors and provide the system dispatchers with enough information to make decent operational decisions. This paper discusses some of these important operational issues from the perspective of power system reliability. The discussions include operational reliability of power systems, reliability influence models for main performance parameters of components, time-varying reliability models of components, and a reliability assessment algorithm for power system operations considering the time-varying characteristic of various parameters. The significance of these discussions and applications of the proposed techniques are illustrated by case study results using the IEEE-RTS.

  • This paper examined dynamic characteristics of high speed trains using a time varying frequency transform. Fourier transform based methods are frequently used for the calculation of the dynamic characteristics of trains in the frequency domain, but they cannot represent the time-varying characteristics. Therefore it is necessary to examine their characteristics using a time-varying frequency transform. For the examination, the non-stationary vibration of wheelset, bogie, and carbody are measured using accelerometers and stored in a data aquisition system. They are processed with localization of the data by modulating with a window function, and Fourier transform is taken to each localized data, called the short-time Fourier transform. From the processed results, time varying auto-spectral density, cross-spectral density, frequency response, and coherence functions have been calculated. From the analysis, it is confirmed that the time varying frequency transform is a useful method for analyzing the dynamic characteristics of high speed trains.

The infinite horizon filtering for time-varying systems is systems is investigated in therms of two Riccati equations by the finite moving horizon.
