The Fantomas and the Robin are the block ciphers included in the LS-designs, the family of block ciphers. They are designed to efficiently apply the masking technique, which is a side-channel analysis countermeasure technique, using L-boxes and S-boxes capable of bit slice implementation. In this paper, we show that the key recovery attacks of Fantomas and Robin through the related-key differential analysis are possible with $2^{56}$ and $2^{72}$ time complexity, $2^{56}$ and $2^{69}$ chosen plaintext respectively.

In this paper, we present a new geometric active contour model based on level set methods introduced by Osher and Sethian for detection of object boundaries or shape and we adopt anisotropic diffusion filtering method for removing noise from original image. In order to minimize the processing time, we use the narrow band method which allows us to perform calculations in the neighborhood of the contour and not in the whole image. Using anisotropic diffusion filtering for each slice, we have the result with reduced noise and extracted exact shape. Volume rendering operates on three-dimensional data, processes it, and transforms it into a simple two-dimensional image.

An essential component of the neutron transport solver is the resonance self-shielding calculation used to determine equivalence cross sections. The neutron transport code, MPACT, is currently using the subgroup self-shielding method, in which the method of characteristics (MOC) is used to solve purely absorbing fixed-source problems. Recent efforts incorporating multigroup kernels to the MOC solvers in MPACT have reduced runtime by roughly $2{\times}$. Applying the same concepts for self-shielding and developing a novel lumped parameter approach to MOC, substantial improvements have also been made to the self-shielding computational efficiency without sacrificing any accuracy. These new multigroup and lumped parameter capabilities have been demonstrated on two test cases: (1) a single lattice with quarter symmetry known as VERA (Virtual Environment for Reactor Applications) Progression Problem 2a and (2) a two-dimensional quarter-core slice known as Problem 5a-2D. From these cases, self-shielding computational time was reduced by roughly $3-4{\times}$, with a corresponding 15-20% increase in overall memory burden. An azimuthal angle sensitivity study also shows that only half as many angles are needed, yielding an additional speedup of $2{\times}$. In total, the improvements yield roughly a $7-8{\times}$ speedup. Given these performance benefits, these approaches have been adopted as the default in MPACT.
Objective: This study investigated the effects of Hansu-Daebowon (HDW) on bone resorption in vitro and bone loss in vivo. Methods: Osteoclast differentiation was measured by counting TRAP (+) MNC formed from RAW 264.7 in the presence of RANKL. Bone pit formation was determined in an artificial bone slice loaded with RANKL-stimulated osteoclasts. To elucidate the mechanisms of the inhibitory effects of HDW on bone resorption and osteoclast differentiation, osteoclastogenic genes (i.e. TRAP, MMP-9, NFATc1, c-Fos, and Cathepsin K) were measured using real time PCR. Furthermore, bone loss was observed using micro-CT in an LPS-treated mammal model. Results: HDW inhibited the bone pit formation in vitro and inhibited bone loss in vivo. Moreover, HDW decreased the number of TRAP (+) MNCs in the presence of RANKL, and HDW inhibited the expressions of cathepsin K, MMP-9, TRAP, NFATc1, and c-Fos in the osteoclasts. Conclusion: HDW exerts inhibitory effects on bone loss and bone resorption resulting from the inhibitions of osteoclast differentiation and osteoclastogenic gene expression.
In the field of video watermarking, which adds a time axis to the watermarking of the existing still image, it is important to embed a watermark at a level that can claim copyright while minimizing the overall video quality. In this paper, we focus on the fact that B slices refer to blocks of I and P slices in the Random Access compression method of HEVC. Therefore, We propose that watermark is embedded only in I and P slices and extracted in I, P, and B slices. This can minimize the decreases of the overall image quality of the image and protect the copyright of the B slice without directly embedding the watermark.
With the broad adoption of the Internet of Things (IoT) in a variety of scenarios and application services, management and orchestration entities require upgrading the traditional architecture and develop intelligent models with ultra-reliable methods. In a heterogeneous network environment, mission-critical IoT applications are significant to consider. With erroneous priorities and high failure rates, catastrophic losses in terms of human lives, great business assets, and privacy leakage will occur in emergent scenarios. In this paper, an efficient resource slicing scheme for optimizing federated learning in software-defined IoT (SDIoT) is proposed. The decentralized support vector regression (SVR) based controllers predict the IoT slices via packet inspection data during peak hour central congestion to achieve a time-sensitive condition. In off-peak hour intervals, a centralized deep neural networks (DNN) model is used within computation-intensive aspects on fine-grained slicing and remodified decentralized controller outputs. With known slice and prioritization, federated learning communications iteratively process through the adjusted resources by virtual network functions forwarding graph (VNFFG) descriptor set up in software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV) enabled architecture. To demonstrate the theoretical approach, Mininet emulator was conducted to evaluate between reference and proposed schemes by capturing the key Quality of Service (QoS) performance metrics.
This study aims to develop a human activity recognition (HAR) system as a Deep-Learning (DL) classification model, distinguishing various human activities. We solely rely on the signals from a wristband accelerometer worn by a person for the user's convenience. 3-axis sequential acceleration signal data are gathered within a predefined time-window-slice, and they are used as input to the classification system. We are particularly interested in developing a Deep-Learning model that can outperform conventional machine learning classification performance. A total of 13 activities based on the laboratory experiments' data are used for the initial performance comparison. We have improved classification performance using the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) combined with an auto-encoder feature reduction and parameter tuning. With various publically available HAR datasets, we could also achieve significant improvement in HAR classification. Our CNN model is also compared against Recurrent-Neural-Network(RNN) with Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM) to demonstrate its superiority. Noticeably, our model could distinguish both general activities and near-identical activities such as sitting down on the chair and floor, with almost perfect classification accuracy.
Objective : Protein disulfide isomerase (PDI) acts as a chaperone on the cell surface, and it has been reported that PDI is associated with the tumor cell migration and invasion. The aims of this study are to investigate the anti-migration effect of bacitracin, which is an inhibitor of PDI, and the associated factor in this process. Methods : U87-MG glioma cells were treated with bacitracin in 1.25, 2.5, 3.75, and 5.0 mM concentrations. Western blot with caspase-3 was applied to evaluate the cytotoxicity of bacitracin. Adhesion, morphology, migration assays, and organotypic brain-slice culture were performed to evaluate the effect of bacitracin to the tumor cell. Western blot, PCR, and gelatin zymography were performed to investigate the associated factors. Thirty glioma tissues were collected following immunohistochemistry and Western blot. Results : Bacitracin showed a cytotoxicity in 3rd (p<0.05) and 4th (p<0.001) days, in 5.0 Mm concentration. The cell adhesion significantly decreased and the cells became a round shape after treated with bacitracin. The migration ability, the expression of phosphorylated focal adhesion kinase (p-FAK) and matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) decreased in a bacitracin dose- and time-dependent manner. The U87-MG cells exhibited low-invasiveness in the 2.5 mM, compared with the untreated in organotypic brain-slice culture. PDI was expressed in the tumor margin, and significantly increased with histological glioma grades (p<0.001). Conclusion : Bacitracin, as a functional inhibitor of PDI, decreased the phosphorylated FAK and the secreted MMP-2, which are the downstream of integrin and play a major role in cell migration and invasion, might become one of the feasible therapeutic strategies for glioblastoma.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical usefulness of the recently developed multi-detector computed tomography and cone beam computed tomography in pre-operative implant evaluation, by comparing them with the single detector computed tomography, already confirmed for accuracy in this area. Materials and Methods: Five partially edentulous dry human mandibles, with $1{\times}1mm$ gutta percha cones, placed in 5mm intervals posterior to the mental foramen on each side of the buccal part of the mandible, were used in this study. They were scanned as follows: 1) Single detector computed tomography: slice thickness 1mm, 200mA, 120kV 2) Multi-detector computed tomography: slice thickness 0.75mm, 250mA, 120kV 3) Cone beam computed tomography: 15mAs, 120kV Axial images acquired from three computed tomographies were transferred to personal computer, and then reformatted cross-sectional images were generated using V-Implant $2.0^{(R)}$ (CyberMed Inc., Seoul, Korea) software. Among the cross-sectional images of the gutta perch a cone, placed in the buccal body of the mandible, the most precise cross section was selected as the measuring point and the distance from the most superior border of the mandibular canal to the alveolar crest was measured and analyzed 10 times by a dentist. Results: There were no significant intraobserver differences in the distance from the most superior border of the mandibular canal to the alveolar crest (p>0.05). There were no significant differences among single detector computed tomography, multi-detector computed tomography and cone beam computed tomography in the distance from the most superior border of the mandibular canal to the alveolar crest (p>0.05). Conclusion: Multi-detector computed tomography and cone beam computed tomography are clinically useful in the evaluation of pre-operative site for mandibular dental implants, with consideration for radiation exposure dose and scanning time.

Recently, the demand for high-integrated, low-powered, and high-powered SoC design has been increasing due to the multi-functionality and the miniaturization of digital devices and the high capacity of service informations. With the rapid evolution of the system, the required hardware performances have become diversified, the FPGA system has been increasingly adopted for the rapid verification, and SoC system using the FPGA and the ARM core for control has been growingly chosen. While the AXI bus is used in these kinds of systems in various ways, it is traditionally designed with AXI slave structure. In slave structure, there are problems with the CPU resources because CPU is continually involved in the data transfer and can't be used in other jobs, and with the decreased transmission efficiency because the time not used of AXI bus beomes longer. In this paper, an efficient AXI master interface is proposed to solve this problem. The simulation results show that the proposed system achieves reductions in the consumption clock by an average of 51.99% and in the slice by 31% and that the maximum operating frequency is increased to 107.84MHz by about 140%.
