고종횡비 비대칭 구조물의 발파붕괴 거동에 관한 연구 (An Experimental Study on Blasting Collapse Behavior of Asymmetry Structure with High Aspect Ratio)

  • 발파해체 공법은 구조물 형상과 주변현황에 따라 다양한 공법을 적용할 수 있으나, 고종횡비를 가지는 비대칭 구조물을 발파해체 하기 위해서는 사전취약화와 발파지점 및 시차와 주변현황에 따른 발파조건을 고려하여 설계하여야 한다. 본 연구에서는 고종횡비 비대칭 구조물을 안전하게 전도시키기 위해 ELS 소프트웨어를 사용하여 사전취약화 위치와 형상에 따른 모멘트 발생지점을 분석하여 킥백(kick back)을 제어할 수 있는 사전취약화 위치 및 형상에 대한 시뮬레이션을 수행하였으며, 비대칭 구조물의 붕괴 시 전도방향의 좌우로 발생하는 비틀림 모멘트(torsional moment)를 최소화하기 위해 붕괴방향을 제어 할 수 있는 발파 시차 및 위치를 선정하였다. 또한 시뮬레이션상의 사전 취약 및 발파시차를 실 구조물의 전도 붕괴에 적용하여 붕괴 거동에 대한 모션분석을 하였다. 그 결과 시뮬레이션의 붕괴거동에 대한 신뢰성을 확인하였으며, 발파해체 시 사전취약화의 형상 및 위치에 따라 킥백을 제어할 수 있으며, 발파 위치와 시차에 따라 비틀림 모멘트를 제어 할 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

고속 여객선의 교각 충돌에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Bow Collapse of High-Speed Passenger Craft in Collision with Bridge Pier)

  • During the last 10 years, the various type of high speed craft have been greatly developed, and since around of 1990 the large size of high speed passenger and/or cargo vessels are also introduced and took into the service in the various routes over the world. In a marine traffic way some bridge need to build across a rivers, cannals or a waterways. This one will be an obstruction and potential risk of collision in the way of high speed craft. Accordingly some of collision accident have been reported, which were caused by a lost control, wind and hydrodynamic forces, fog or human errors. In this paper a high speed craft having 40 m length is assumed to be collided with a circular type of bridge piers at right angle. The mode of deformation, penetration depth of collapse, impact forces, reduction of speed, loss of kinetic energy, and influence of scantlings, etc. have been calculated in each speed with a time variation to find a maximum values within a limit, and are graphically presented.

보강토옹벽의 사고사례에 관한 연구 (Reinforced Earth Retaining Wall of The Collapsed-A Case Study.)

  • This paper deal with cause and analysis about case of collapsed reinforced-soil retaining wall. The analysis of the cause was carried through experimentation, slop stability analysis and literature study. The experimentation treated the large direct shear test, the hydraulic conductivity test and the other basic test through backfill extracted from collapsed reinforced-soil retaining wall. The ultimate tensile strength was established by rib tensile strength test of geogrid. The analysis of internal and external stability of reinforced-soil retaining wall was performed on the basis of parameters. The result of analysis, reinforced-soil retaining wall and the slope at the dry season are stable. However, the factors that fine-grained soil at hydrometer test exceed the standard of the design, rainfall duration is too long at the time of collapse and monthly pricipitation is heavy are cause of the collapse.

  • The seismic analytic collapse fragility of soil nail wall structures with a shotcrete concrete covering is investigated in this paper. The finite element modeling process has been well described. The fragility function evaluates the link between ground motion intensities and the likelihood of reaching a specific level of damage. The soil nail wall has been subjected to incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) from medium to strong ground vibrations. The nonlinear dynamic analysis of the soil nail wall uses a set of 20 earthquake ground motions with varying PGAs. PGD is utilized as an intensity measure, the numerical findings demonstrate that the soil nailing wall reaction is particularly sensitive to earthquake intensity measure (IM).

  • The masonry structure is constructed by cement mortar binding material of brick objects and uses reinforced hardware (connected hardware or wall tie) together when building. However, over time, the corrosion of reinforced steel and the deterioration of joint mortar as well as bricks cause the risk of collapse. In particular, when the externally decorated brick wall is installed on the concrete girder for each floor, the angle bracket is not constructed or corroded, the full-layer weight load is applied to the wall of 0.5B, which is an example of full-scale or collapse. The purpose of this study is to provide numerical information on the reinforcement design by experimentally studying the structural performance of concrete reinforcement brackets that reinforce the vertical load of the exterior wall.

Proposing a Method for Robustness Index Evaluation of the Structures Based on the Risk Analysis of Main Shock and Aftershock

  • Investigating remained damages from terrible earthquakes, it could be concluded that some events including explosion because of defect and failure in the building mechanical facilities or caused by gas leak, firing, aftershocks, etc., which are occurred during or a few time after the earthquake, will increase the effects of damages. In this paper, by introducing a complete risk analysis which included direct and indirect risks for earthquake (the main shock) and aftershock, the corresponding robustness index was created that called as "robustness index sequential critical events risk-based". One of the main properties of the intended robustness index is using progressive collapse percentage in its evaluation. Then, in a numerical example for a 4-storey moment resisting steel frame structure, a method is presented for obtaining all effective parameters in robustness index evaluation based on the intended risk and at last its results were reported.

  • Ground cave-in is usually initiated by the formation of cavity within the ground due to soil loss. When the location of the cavity is deep in the ground, the detection of the cavity is not easy. Then it is possible that the hidden cavity expands for a long time to eventually cause sudden large-scale collapse. A case of large scale ground collapse in the old fill ground was studied and described in this paper. The underground cavity appeared to be caused by subsurface erosion deep in the ground and to expand/extend upward till it was ended by the catastrophic ground failure. It highlighted the importance of proper drainage work in a large scale land fill.

  • Voltage instability has been studied for some decade now. But, there is not generally accepted definition of voltage instability because of the complex phenomenon and the variety of ways in which it can manifest itself. Both IEEE and CIGRE have the respective definitions. The areas of voltage instability research arc the analysis, simulation and countermeasure of voltage instability. In this paper, we perform a dynamic simulation of voltage instability and voltage collapse using EMTP MODELS. The exponential load model is designed with MODELS and this load model is connected with test power system. The result shows the process of voltage change in time domain when the voltage instability or voltage collapse occurs.
