Nano Esto: USN 응용 소프트웨어 개발을 위한 통합개발환경 (Nano Esto: An IDE for USN Application Developers)

  • Integrated development environment (IDE) plays an important role in reducing the developm ent time, thereby improving software development productivity. In recent years, ubiquitous sensor networks (USNs) have become increasingly popular. However their application software is developed mostly using command-line-based tools. Such a development process is not only likely to be error-prone but also inconvenient to debug errors. This paper describes a novel IDE for USN application developers called Nano Esto that provides a single, consistent, and integrated environment for building and executing USN applications. The Nano Esto helps the developers edit and cross-compile source code and download the executable image to the program memory of sensor nodes with just a few button clicks. It also provides support for configuring an application-specific kernel, simulating a wireless sensor network, and estimating power consumption in each sensor node. Currently, Nano Esto runs on Linux as well as on Windows with the same look and feel.

A Machine Vision System for Inspecting Tape-Feeder Operation

  • A tape feeder of a SMD(Surface Mount Device) mounter is a device that sequentially feeds electronic components on a tape reel to the pick-up system of the mounter. As components are getting much smaller, feeding accuracy of a feeder becomes one of the most important factors for successful component pick-up. Therefore, it is critical to keep the feeding accuracy to a specified level in the assembly and production of tape feeders. This paper describes a tape feeder inspection system that was developed to automatically measure and to inspect feeding accuracy using machine vision. It consists of a feeder base, an image acquisition system, and a personal computer. The image acquisition system is composed of CCD cameras with lens, LED illumination systems, and a frame grabber inside the PC. This system loads up to six feeders at a time and inspects them automatically and sequentially. The inspection software was implemented using Visual C++ on Windows with easily usable GUI. Using this system, we can automatically measure and inspect the quality of ail feeders in production process by analyzing the measurement results statistically.

유압을 이용한 도립진자의 LQ제어 (LQ Control of Inverted Pendulum Using Hydraulic)

  • An inverted pendulum mounted on a cart and actuated by a hydraulic servo cylinder was designed and built. Position information of the cart was acquired via a potentiometer and a angle of the pendulum was sensed by an incremental encoder. These were collected by a DAQ board and processed through the Real-Time Windows Target software(included in simulink). A simulink graphical program was implemented as a controller of the hydraulic system that governed the motion of the cart in order to maintain vertical balance of the inverted pendulum. The purpose of this study is to develop an electro-hydraulic inverted pendulum system for a modeling and controling the intrinsic unstable system. The simulation results were compared with the experimental and verified.

영농청소년의 지역사회참여실태 및 활성화 방안 (A Study on the Realities and Activation of Community Participation of Young Farmers)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the realities of community participation of young farmers and to suggest measures to activate community participation. The data were collected from 234 young farmers from rural Korea. With SPSS 13.0 program for Windows, Frequency, t-test, ANOVA, LSD for post-hoc interpretation and Factor Analysis were employed to analyze the data with statistical significance level of .05. The main results of the study and suggestions were as follows: 1) Young farmers were more likely to participate in watching television on community, discussion with others and internet search for community, while, rural youths were less likely to participate in contacting government and parliament. 2) Difficulties of community participations of young farmers were lack of time and insufficient information about participatory activities. The study suggested that young farmers should get more opportunities to participate in diverse types of active opportunities and practical information.

  • 오존은 다른 산화제에 비해 산화력이 훨씬 높아 수처리에 많이 쓰인다. 본 논문에서는 오존 발생량, 오존 농도와 관계가 있는 주요 파라미터들의 손쉬운 제어를 위해 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스 모니터링 시스템을 구현하였다. 이 시스템은 Windows 98 환경의 PC에서 Turbo C와 LabVIEW를 사용하여 프로그램밍하며, 이 모니터링 시스템은 인버터를 제어하는 80196 Microprocessor와 양방향으로 통신한다. 본 연구에서는 모니터링 시스템이 가져야 할 오존 발생기 개발 단계에서 각 파라미터들의 최적값 결정과 오존 발생기 제조 단계에서 파라미터들의 조정이라는 두가지 목적에 적합하도록 그래픽 환경 사용자 인터페이스 구축에 그 초점을 맞추어 관리자가 효율적으로 오존 발생을 모니터링할 수 있게 한다.

  • The goal of this paper is to propose a virtual instrumentation system based on three dimensional current coordinates for monitoring power quality A developed system with various experimental graphic screens and numerical results is made up 586-PC and DSP(digital signal processor) board, power quality analyzing and evaluating software for windows. Power parameters are analyzed using correlation signal processing techniques based on the correlation between voltage and current waveforms. Analysis. results are visualized by 3-D current coordinates, and it Is compared and evaluated with conventional time / frequency domain. To verify the validity of the proposed system, power and harmonic parameters of single phase induction motor drives is analyzed and verified.

Feasibility of ferroelectric materials as a blocking layer in charge trap flash (CTF) memory

  • The electrical characteristics of Metal-Ferroelectric-Nitride-Oxide-Silicon (MFNOS) structure is studied and compared to the conventional Silicon-Oixde-Nitride-Oxide-Silicon (SONOS) capacitor. The ferroelectric blocking layer is SrBiNbO (SBN with Sr/Bi ratio 1-x/2+x) with the thickness of 200 nm and is fabricated by the RF sputter. The memory windows of MFNOS and SONOS capacitors with sweep voltage from +10 V to -10 V are 6.9 V and 5.9 V, respectively. The effect of ferroelectric blocking layer and charge trapping on the memory window was discussed. The retention of MFNOS capacitor also shows the 10-years and longer retention time than that of the SONOS capacitor. The better retention properties of the MFNOS capacitor may be attributed to the charge holding effect by the polarization of ferroelectric layer.

  • In this paper, a silicon piezoresistive accelerometer of which the cantilevers have uniform thickness is designed and fabricated with SOI wafer. The accelerometer consists of a seismic mass and four cantilevers, and is fabricated mainly by the anisotropic etching method using EPW etchant. The fabrication processes are that of the frontside processes including the etching of the cantilevers and the doubleside alignment holes, the diffusion of the piezoresisters and patterning of the contact windows, and the metal connection process, and that of the backside processes including the etching of the shallow cavity and the seismic mass. Because of the uniformity of thickness, the performance of the accelerometer fabricated with SOI wafer is expected to be better than that of accelerometer fabricated by the time-controlled etching method.

  • OR 기법이 현실에 성공적으로 적용된 분야 중 하나가 차량 경로 문제 풀이며 이 분야에 대한 연구는 꾸준히 진행되어 오고 있다. 시간대 제약이 있는 차량 수 배송 문제는 기존의 차량 배송 문제에서 더욱 진보된 형태의 문제이다. 많은 연구가 있어왔지만, 이러한 형태의 문제들은 NP-hard 형태의 문제이므로 meta-heuristic 기법들이 많이 사용되었다. 유전자 알고리즘에 비해 타부 서치 기법이 많이 사용되었는데, 이는 시간대 제약이 있는 차량 수 배송 문제의 경우 유전자 알고리즘의 근간인 염색체 형태로 표현하기가 쉽지 않기 때문이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 시간대 제약이 있는 차량 수 배송 문제를 다수의 차량을 사용하는 Grouping Genetic Algorithms을 적용하여 이러한 어려움을 해결하였다. 또한, 기존의 유전자 알고리즘들은 초기 해 집단을 임의 선택 방식으로 구성하였지만, 초기 해 집단 구성을 heuristic 기법을 사용하여 적합도 함수 값이 좋은 해들로 구성하여 기존에 사용된 알고리즘들과 성능을 비교 분석하고자 한다.

Buckling optimization of laminated composite plate with elliptical cutout using ANN and GA

  • Buckling optimization of laminated composite plates is significant as they fail because of buckling under in-plane compressive loading. The plate is usually modeled without cutout so that the buckling strength is found analytically using classical laminate plate theory (CLPT). However in real world applications, the composite plates are modeled with cutouts for getting them assembled and to offer the provisions like windows, doors and control system. Finite element analysis (FEA) is used to analyze the buckling strength of the plate with cutouts and it leads to high computational cost when the plate is optimized. In this article, a genetic algorithm based optimization technique is used to optimize the composite plate with cutout. The computational time is highly reduced by replacing FEA with artificial neural network (ANN). The effectiveness of the proposed method is explored with two numerical examples.
